  • Against the wishes of residents BANES Council enacted a CAZ in the city, promising it would only apply to vans, they installed the cameras and infrastructure despite the people giving a resolute NO during a consultation some years ago. Now some residents tell of the impact it's had on their lives and the awful way it's being enforced.

I have written to the Council, the MP for the area, two councillors as I was unable to contact by 'phone. Automated and waiting in a queue. Not long ago you could walk into a building near the town Hall, tell the receptionist which department you required, she would give you a ticket with a number on and you would sit and wait, probably half an hour for the number to light up. But it worked. You spoke to a person and could show them incorrect paperwork. The MP didn't get back to me. The councillor called and agreed with everything I said but couldn't solve the problem. Then I had a call from a young sounding man who apologised. He also answered the email I sent, others didn't respond. This has been going on for 3 years. I am sick of the Government and their changes and being constantly robbed. As we all are. So annoying for us all. It is done on purpose.

I live in outer London and Sadiq Khan is adamant in extending the ULEZ to the suburbs where the air quality is good. I check my weather app on my iPad daily, which shows the air quality always in the green zone (Index 2 and sometimes 3). Do people in Bath check the air quality for themselves? And if good, hold protest marches and complain to the councillors and MPs, as we do in London?
I am absolutely confident that in outer London (and perhaps in inner London - not Central London) that the ULEZ is simply a money making scheme and nothing at all to do with the health of the people. They use health to scare people and use it as a convenient way to pick peoples’ pockets with ease. This ‘green’ nonsense MUST stop.

As my speciality is not in this field, I would not know what these figures mean. Hence I go with the simpler version of Index and colour coding, which is always in the green (Index 2 or 3) where I live. Probably the tech companies selling the cameras and running the systems which will be used for additional purposes in the future. Facial recognition coming to a clean air camera near you!

If we comply to this 3xtorsion they will grow in power and tyranny. We all have to remind councils we are their employers.

The only way to make them stop is to collectively stop paying the council tax en masse. Once they have so many people they cannot deal with, it becomes a big problem, for them.

How many trees will have been cut down to produce all the paper for the bills, fines and apologies these hard working, paying, people have received. Talking about clean air.. Trees that could have been producing nice oxygen and reduce co2 levels, without these good people having to pay for nonsense regulations which have no base of science, but to fill the pockets of those whom already earn to much taxpayers money..

I used to visit Bath quite a lot, but since they bought in these measures i have not been back and i know a few others who won't go to Bath either, its not worth the hassle in case you get a fine through the post.

I've had false letters like this from my council, and I kept them all and then filed a small claim against them. Once they received the paperwork from the small claims court and had 21 days to respond, they couldn't get round to my house quick enough with a settlement. Play them at their own game,

Straightup gather all the people in this video and create a class action lawsuit against the council, any lawyer would be happy to take the job. In the UK this is called "Group litigation". I strongly believe you would win a large settlement from the council for them fucking up their own systems. And win even more for the coutry court judgements + damaged. Lawyers please go talk to them.

I've just completed the paperwork for a speeding fine and they take your partners income into consideration including disability benefits which I think is disgusting because based on that logic then it's OK to ask your partner to take the points for you?
