I definitely agree! Pretty much everything is the same as in the curve shot but the follow trhough makes the difference ☄ Thanks for watching and commenting 🤗
Haven't played for 25 years, toward the end this was how I took almost all my shots... never seen it described so extremely spot on anywhere before... exact right boney part of the foot, spot on about locking your ankle and making everything tight, and zero follow through. If they had these resources when I played my shots wouldn't have been nearly as unique... Amazing job showing and describing, well done!
I'm sorry for the late answer but thank you so MUCH! There are many different ways of shooting the knuckleball but I guess we've had similar techniques together. I tried my best to explain that technique and hopefully people can learn something from it ❤⚽️
Its been a month sincs ive been using your technique and now i cant stop shooting knuckleballs its so satisfying the way it moves from right to left Thank you alot
I like the tips of last step of run up keeping heel high very much. It not only helps in knuckleball, it also helps in balancing our body after our shooting of football
I took a break after watching this video but after 1 year I am trying to do it and it not easy you gotta put all the effort in and this is the easiest method I have found.
I am under the belief that some quantum entanglement occurs with the person kicking the ball and the ball because it would seem that the person has some control over the ball even after the ball is struck and is flying in the air. In any case, it's been a real joy and pleasure watching you hit that ball. Nice vid, and thanks for the upload.
Must admit that much to my late fathers chagrin I was not a soccer player. My sport was always baseball and my father having been born in Italy and immigrated here at the age of 14 was naturally a little disappointed. He always supported me fully in baseball but he loved soccer. I just appreciate that soccer/football players call this a “knuckleball.”
My father used to play ice hockey professionally, my brother played hockey as well. I know how it feels when your family loves a specific sport and you choose another one. But like in my situation, I'm glad you found your own sport and that your father is supporting you. ⚾️ I haven't been much of a baseball guy myself but maybe I would just need to give it some more time. Apparently we have some similarities as well, like the "knuckleball". I wish you all the best for the path that you've chosen ❤ Thanks for the comment!
I figured this out long ago when I was a field goal kicker in high school when I had far more practice time to goof around. In the off season, I played soccer, but attributed what I knew about some tricks I learned when practicing on-side kicks for kick-offs. I used a short kick with practically zero follow through attempting to pull my foot to the side limiting contact with the ball and preventing any follow through. I was just trying to punch the soccer ball smack dab in the middle of the sweet spot with a chopping punch with my foot. Was kicking knucklers like Phil Niekro with little effort.
Good hitting tehnique, but try to put the planting foot next tot the ball, not behind it. The center of the ball must go in the center of the planting foot for the best stability. Good job and hope it will be better 👍🏻
@@skillafootball if the ball moves how you want it to then YOUR technique is working perfectly. Don't worry what anybody else says for technique, because ultimately, the ball doesn't care.
The BEST tip I ever learned as a young player was to practice landing first on the SAME FOOT that you struck the ball. The next bit of advice on free kicks especially but also in general shooting was to imagine a second ‘imaginary’ ball was always a half ball further towards the opponents goal than the ACTUAL ball! This meant my planting foot was slightly nearer to the goal than what I would have been striking the real ball. Amazingly, this created so much more control and power. This coupled with landing on the striking foot ensured the ball remained lower than the crossbar virtual every time. I’ve just remembered a classic quote from a famous coach ; “A top pianist doesn’t get great by running round and round the piano - no, they get great by PLAYING”
To me, that last step on the toes is really difficult. I've been recording myself and noticed how close to the ground my feet is. Although when kicking I feel like I'm very on my toes, when I see the video I notice I'm not as much as I thougth. Nevertheless, I think I've achieved a techinique good enough as to generate very little spin on the ball. The problem, to me, is the heigth. Most of my knuckleballs dont go any higher than 1.2 meters. Great video.
Hey thanks for the comment! I've experienced that as well. I'm not as much on my toes as I think. The best way to get it right is just to train your ankles and calves muscles 💪🏼 And by the way you can also shoot knuckleballs without that "toe step" but it surtainly helps. About the height there are few things you can do: 1. Hit lower on the ball 2. Lean back more 3. Have your standing foot further away from the ball 4. Try hitting with a different area of your foot. 5. Use more power (comes with training) It's good to hear that you've filmed your videos and got the technique on point 👌🏼 You can send me some videos on my Instagram @skilmafc if you want me to check them out. I can try my best to help 🤗
I also have had the same problem about lifting myself on my toes. I’ve seen people use that tip but I can never actually lift myself as much as I think. I feel as if im making myself taller but in reality I don’t look like I am

The knuckle of the big toe (hence name), you're trying to hit the ball with the strongest and pointed bone in your foot that also happens to be close to the surface of the skin and has no flesh (meat) covering it. The planted foot can be forward ( approx a foot length) or side of the ball but not behind the ball when striking. With laces you can definitely get some more power if you want to shoot from far away but this seems to work best for me.

What u achieved by loosening ur ankle is a dipping shot. Dip free kicks are the ones I struggle with
I literally do the dipping shot by kicking the bottom of the ball with the bottom side of the foot so it's sort of chip shot lol
i found them the easies to do basically just raise your knee immediately after hitting the ball and you will get dip on every shot
I grew up watching Ronaldo do this so I tried to copy him so there was time I only used this technique even while passing so it really troubled me thus I started learning other skills too but this technique was perfect for screamers and free kicks
