The entire staff of Spotlight has my admiration. You people are my heroes. Thank you. And the movie was the best I've seen in decades.

I can believe I only saw this movie a week ago. I remember watching the news about priests being accused of molestation and rape of children. But I had no idea about the Spotlight team from the Boston Globe. Or that their investigation played a key role in outing so many priest. Great job great movie.

this kind of reporting is what the news should be doing, not running stories based on rumors

Far too many stories are claimed as rumors, to discredit the journalist and the story...

and far too many rumors are wrongfully overblown into journalistic gems in order to further a cause politically, I'm not saying that's the case here because the Catholic Church has been harboring perverts for decades, nice to see somebody had the balls to dig or the truth and do the right thing with it

"far too many rumors are wrongfully overblown into journalistic gems"...I guess it depends on what we are talking about. If you are thinking about the sensation-press, then sure, however they are hardly journalist, they do not actually look into stuff.
But papers like The New York Times, Washington Post, the Economist, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times and so on... Those papers generally speaking are able to back up their stories, and if they are able to do that, it is not "wrongfully overblown".

I still agree wholeheartedly with Mitchell Garabedian when he said the bottom line is watch your children when they are around priests. The best statement I have heard regarding this issue.

People seem very eager to claim those they don't like are child molesters, but never dare to do it when they are actually child molesters.

Sure sends the wrong message that the Vatican then gave Cardinal Laws a position in Rome.

Revelation 14:6-12 King James Version (KJV)
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear YAHUWAH, and give glory to YAHUWAH; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship YAHUWAH who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of YAHUWAH, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of YAHUSHUA:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YAHUWAH, and the faith of YAHUSHUA.
