    Such great advice! Especially to slow down and embrace the journey and mistakes. I think I also get impatient and want to have my style and wardrobe all figured out and perfect right away. Love the reminder to slow down, relax, and enjoy the process.

    Thank you so much for this advice. It's wonderfully thought out. I'm starting my wardrobe virtually from scratch after 6 months of losing weight. The temptation to buy lots at once is definitely there but I want to create a sustainable capsule that actually suits me rather than just cover myself up which used to be my main concern.

      Hi Louise, thank you for your comment. ❤️ yeah it’s so tempting to rush and buy a whole new wardrobe isn’t it? I hope you have a good experience taking it slow 😊

    🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟This video was EXCELLENT!!! And I especially love your suggestion to take shopping breaks. I couldn't believe it, but when the pandemic caused me to stop shopping for clothes, I LOVED not shopping for clothes!! (I am a bit of a thrift store addict!) 🤣 Great insights.

    There is a lot of focus on individual clothing pieces but what if you just shop per full outfits? Like do you have 4 to 7 full outfits and then you can mix and match or do you just gravitate to the same "favorite" combinations? There is a thing with over-complicating but when i was in highschool i had a uniform and outside of school i just wore what my mom gave me, so i never really got to practise style much. Now in my college years i started a creative study so i could wear whatever i wanted and i tried a lot. Now im going to a more serious study and want to go for buiseness casual, but am also in the process of loosing weight. Feeling like i just want to fit in more instead of standing out like you do in the creative industry. I also have a bit of a rock side to me. It has to be comfotable and practical because things are difficult enough for us as woman.

    • @ValKovalchuk
      @ValKovalchuk  3 роки тому +1

      Buying full outfits that you can later mix and match sound like a great idea actually! Then you already have some outfit combinations in mind when you are getting dressed and it would be less stressful for sure. 😊

    Totally agree about the need to figure out a sustainable shopping strategy that works for you! I have to buy my bottoms in fast fashion because I need tall sizing which ethical brands just don't offer (yet). But everything I can buy from ethical brands or second hand, I will. And buy less overall of course! Which is made easier by advice on wardrobe building like yours :-)

    • @ValKovalchuk
      @ValKovalchuk  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, its not realistic to be perfectly sustainable when our bodies are all so different and have different needs. I think just shopping much less and with a lot of thought and intention is also a sustainable way to live! 😊

    I shop with sustainability in mind from low-price shops like H&M, etc. I just buy natural-fabric items in classic styles and colors that I love, then give them the same loving care as my higher-cost items. I’ve rarely had any issues with quality this way, these things seem to last just as long. I think the most important thing about sustainability is how much wear the item gets during its lifetime. I shop considering everything I buy is a permanent wardrobe item. A polyester item only becomes permanent when it hits the landfill, where it won’t break down for tens of thousands of years, at least. These synthetics have little, if any re-use value to anyone else, should we decide to pass them on. A good-quality linen shirt will be more appealing secondhand than a cheap poly one.

    • @ValKovalchuk
      @ValKovalchuk  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I totally agree with you, I still have a handful of natural fiber H&M pieces that have lasted me years because I've tried to take care of them really well to make them last. It really is a mindset thing.

      Thank you! I’m not sure if you mean the white T-shirt or stripe one?
      The white one is from Everlane: www.everlane.com/products/womens-organic-cotton-box-cut-pocket-tee-white?locale=US&:pla-318053840145&adgroup=98515037897&pid=7372-53529&device=m&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjqa7oaHj8AIVWiCtBh0TewkzEAQYAiABEgIFU_D_BwE
