    One thing that helps me reduce impulse purchases is remembering that there's a reason something is on clearance.

      I have the same thoughts. Customers haven`t bought them because of style or colour options etc, so they reduce them to get rid of all the stock. Sometimes up to 75% off the original price! It also makes you think if they can reduce it by that much, was the original price hyped up??

    I've been following you since last August, and implementing your advice. I have done everything you said in this video (slowly over the last 7 months) and it works SO WELL!! It has been so much trial and error but I am happier with my wardrobe now than I ever have been in my life. I could never nail down my personal style or enjoy clothing that I bought for more than a couple of weeks because something was always "off". My wardrobe is not perfect now by any means, but for the first time it is a very solid foundation that I feel will last me for years and on which I can continue to slowly build. Thank you for your content!

    The most helpful thing I did was to make a ‘lifestyle’ pie chart using the ‘numbers’ ( hours) to really be realistic about where and how I actually spend my life. This really helped me to not be as tempted by ‘media influencers’ because my life is mostly ‘at home’ and in causal clothing so I really NEED SO LITTLE for ‘going out’ to coffee or other outings or ‘events’. What I really NEED is more, good quality, comfortable clothes for ‘at home’ and all the activities I do ‘at home’. The NUMBERS DON’T LIE. The visual of the pie chart is just such a good reminder and ‘reality check’ when I’m tempted to get what ‘influencers’ show and suggest. No blazers need here!

    I am not one to post comments, but I just want to say that you are a great inspiration to me. I love your simple style and down to Earth attitude. It's easy to get carried away with all the fashion videos on UA-cam and you bring some normalcy to fashion and style. Thank a lot and keep doing what you are doing!

    This was such a good video. Thank you so much for all your work. This step by step guide was so clear and helpful. I’m sure I’ll refer to it over and over again. I watch a lot of ‘capsule wardrobe’ content and this is one of the absolute best videos and your channel is my current favourite by far. Your style is so much more relatable to my life/ world. Watching capsule wardrobe videos with silk skirts and blazers just isn’t for me or my everyday life. Those videos are a dime a dozen. Your content is rare and wonderful. ❤

    I have an hourglass figure, which I get so frustrated with, often! It's funny how we see in others the 'ultimate' figure/shape... we just need to embrace and love what we are given 😄 Great video Val. "My wardrobe is not a museum, open it and enjoy." I love this statement so much 💛🩵 from Australia 🇦🇺 🤍

      Yeah that’s so interesting that no matter what our body is like, we still wish it was different! I am learning to embrace and love my body the way that it is 🥰

    From this video I will definitely remember “Our closet is not a museum that we just open and look at.” That’s a nice one Val 👍 And I didn’t expect to see Paolo Nutini in your living room. Now I want to listen to his music. 😊

    I've just watched a bunch of your videos because I love your thoughtful approach!! What would you suggest for someone who doesn't like wearing jeans, trousers, or anything with a hard waistband? Jeans look so much more put together, but leggings are so much cozier 🙃

    • @ValKovalchuk
      @ValKovalchuk  Рік тому

      Maybe look for pants that have an elastic waistband? I have a pair of wide leg linen pants like that and they are super comfy. Or look for pants that have a partial elastic waist, where they are button closure in the front with an elastic panel in the back.. hope that helps!

      I have the same problem and have an hourglass figure. I have found success avoiding pants/jeans by buying dresses and pairing certain tunic tops with leggings and casual or short dresses with leggings! I couldn’t afford the expense of drastic size changes pregnant and postpartum!

      The Daily Connoisseur (her youtube channel) has black cargo pants she styles. I think they are silk. But her style tends to be more elevated than casual.

    I have a straight hips and waist too so I really struggle with jeans. How do you find jeans that don’t slide down throughout the day? If I size down, the waist is too tight!

    • @margaritavalcheva

      I buy jeans that have a pretty high rise so that they sit at the smallest part of my waist, that seems to do the trick! Also one's that have 2% elastane in them, so they are a tiny bit stretchy and can hold on to my body better. Hope that helps!
