I really love that your rules have a different twist than all of those I’ve heard over and over the last few years; in a way, they feel more honest and real. 👍🏽
These are great rules. I'm so torn with fast fashion. I really want to phaze it out but I get hung up on the low price tag, however i know its not ethically produced and that doesn't sit well with me.
I understand. I talk about this in so many of my videos, there are really no upsides to fast fashion, only illusions of the trap! But it’s great you’re realizing where your values lie and that will help you on your journey x
I love the part about your fantasy self! And the "winner in its catagory" thing I heard someone else say this last year and it's helped me to avoid SO MANY purchases.
Hi Brotherins, I hope all is well! That was a whole lot of CHOICE in this video, what I meant half of the time was of course OPTIONS, but ya'll are capable folk, you'll pick that right up, just know that I know too! Also the lighting is all over the place so sorry about that and I hope you enjoyed this video anyway! Please consider giving it a like if you did as it really does help out my small channel! 🐏💎💖 Have a blessed day and I'll see you soon
Love your advice for how to buy for your fantasy self while still staying true to your every day self! I’m definitely guilty of buying things I want to wear that I never actually wear
On the topic of choice: I grew up in the city whilst my boyfriend grew up on the countryside. Back when we went to school fashion was a huge thing at my (private) school. Every trend had to be followed. On the contrary fashion was not that huge of a thing at my bf´s school. We both concluded that the options I had for shopping as opposed to the options on the countryside played a huge part! People from my school, me included, had access to shopping malls and every brand that was available in my country at the time. On the other hand there were very little shops available to my boyfriend and his classmates (online shopping wasn´t really a thing back then in my country). I think fashion would not have been this huge of a thing at my school, or at least the need for new fashionable clothes, if it wasn´t for the fact that we actually had the option to buy those things
I find it so interesting hearing about your 'rules' and guideline :) great point about whether you'd reach for that piece over your current favourite - going to use this!
I've been watching so many Videos about minimalism and decluttering wardrobes to help my poor decision making. I think this one is actually the first one which is really helpful and realistic to follow for me. So thank you :)
Thanks for sharing your ideas on how to stop buying so much. For me one of the first things that will stop me straight away is material. I try to never buy 100% polyester or acrylic items. Where possible buy cotton, Lenzing viscose or linen. I also find sticking to a colour palette useful and keeping a list on my phone of what to buy and NOT to buy! P. S. Love the studs and fringes, I have a pair of studded biker boots that I love! Brings out my rebellious bit edgy, but tough side!
Another great video, Naja! I loved the part about not settling for less than winner in a category and fast fashion, although it's hard for me to leave out fast fashion entirely because I don't have an income to buy everything high-end. At least I try to be super mindful when making my purchases now and contemplate them for weeks to months until I finally decide to buy. And of course, second hand market is a way to go, too. Do you have some tips how to tell quality clothing from less valuable? I researched it already but would love to hear your personal opinions because you always bring some fresh views on various subjects!
I’m really glad you enjoyed it and great video suggestion! I’ll add it to my list x There are really some lower end brands that are worth way more than your classic well known huge fast fashion brands, there’s absolutely no NEED to go high end, especially not in the beginning where you still may need to buy more than later x
Such great ideas how we could precive before a pick up. Thank you Naja, I love how different you are. I'm happy to say you do replace my other favorite youtubers and deserve to be taken into my personal subscription haha
I don’t have a lot of stuff, except for clothes and accessories, my big weakness. Trying hard to reform! One big problem is that I can’t always get it together to meet return deadlines, what a waste!
I (after REALLY thinking about it) asked for a pair of brown croc print boots for my birthday. I love them and wear them all the time. But I'm really.glad I took a few moths to think on it and not let impulse take hold.
I love choices, but have accumulated so many in my huge wardrobe that it’s no longer choice, but chaos. Step 1, I think, purge my never-worns. Most of these have a comfort issue, I just discovered, synthetic fabric, fitted waistband, heels too high, etc. Others don’t fit right, or are just overall too big or small. A few fantasy-self purchases, but not a lot.
My fantasy self just wants to go to Coachella this year, with all the boho-chic vibes! ;D But maybe she can be happy with a pair of boho earrings instead in a local park in Stockholm (lol).... I find it so hard to stick to a minimal wardrobe, because I get bored. How do you overcome being bored with your stuff (if you get bored, that is)? Thx for the video :)
i like your mindset, very forgiving and openmindet without being sprawling. your rules are more like guidelines. and i love that idea with not supressing the fantasy self without giving it too much room. thank you.
Yours is a fresh look at minimalist wardrobes (and style) I really like your point of indulging your multiple style personalities in your choices of accessories! I had not thought about that and struggled to stick to one specific style: you gave me ideas!!! Also your pointsof having too many choices of prints and finally always or almost always picking the same one over and over again. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the subject!
Yes ! I agree so much on the fact that giving choice away was the hardest part to me. Great thoughts , I arrived today here and definitely am going to stay ❤️
Great video! I am in the shop and toss/donate cycle. It’s awful. I am done with fast fashion- I’ve decluttered again and will only shop for high quality items that truly fit into my capsule wardrobe. Thanks for the inspiration- you’re totally a fashion icon of mine!
Great video, as always! I believe I have been drawn to minimalism for that exact reason: too many darn choices! Still a little overwhelming in my new pursuit of only natural fabrics, but cutting out polyester does help *tremendously*! I will be thinking of these rules in my shopping ventures going forward, thank you! 😘
I don't want to use it as a excuse but I used to think If I'm not able to wear it at office why buy it? and ended up with cheesy clothes I didn't want to wear anyway, now I reach for more casual still presentable but is hard to keep me away from sneakers
Odd question but what do you wear when sleeping? Do you have pyjamas or other leisure clothes? I watched your minimalist wardrobe video and didn’t see any “at home clothes”.
Not odd and I’ve already answered this a few other times. I do have a bit of leisure and lounge wear, but very little and none of this is chic or fantastic and most I’ve had for years. I keep it private for now to have some sort of privacy but also I feel like it has absolutely no relevance to the content I like to make, it’s like a completely other planet for me. Thanks for watching! x
Question for you. I'm in the process of building my essentials wardrobe and I hate, t-shirts. Like any t-shirts. So it makes it hard to find a good basic white t-shirt because all the ones I've gotten ive hated and don't wear. Should I give up on the "white tshirt" basic or keep trying? I wear tank tops for reference. All different verifies and already have a white one but just not t-shirts. P.S Every closet essential video and blog ive ready states you NEED a white t-shirt.
100% give up. I don’t wear t-shirts either. Tank tops and camisoles are great and maybe that’s your white T-shirt like a white button up shirt is my version of it x No idea why you would absolutely need a T-shirt, just wear what you wear now and perfect that. x
if you count everything in your wardrobe how much item you have : jewlery shoes dress pants shirt coat everything ? exept lounge or gym clothes .. im really curious
Allowing your fantasy self to choose accessories is a genius idea!
I really love that your rules have a different twist than all of those I’ve heard over and over the last few years; in a way, they feel more honest and real. 👍🏽
Very glad to hear that x
I love the concept of coexisting with your fantasy self and not denying it!

Same! That's so wonderful! I tried hard, but I can't let go my fantasy self completely - so this is a perfect option to deal with her👌🥰🌸🤗

you are so pretty inside and outside, love it
Thank you so much x
Love sneakers with a smart outfit.
Loving your videos and the understanding of “spoiled for choice”. Thank you for being here!
Thank you for your thoughtful comment xx
I also live jackets, they change up basic looks so well. Scarves, too, and I have a lot of both.
I've been watching so many Videos about minimalism and decluttering wardrobes to help my poor decision making. I think this one is actually the first one which is really helpful and realistic to follow for me. So thank you :)
Glad it was helpful! x
The spoiled by choice and fantasy self ideas were so spot on! I'm definitely going to be applying these rules to my own wardrobe.
I’m so very glad you thought so and thanks for sharing! x

Can relate. My punk rock self would have loved a road trip in the Midwest US but I guess I’ll sip aperol in my fringe backpack instead 😂
About being bored, that’s actually a really great question. I’ll make a list and make a video about it x
Thanks for the great question 🥖🍓
@@NajaSierra Hahah love that ! And honestly, it doesnt sound too bad either ;) Your welcome, looking forward to a potential future video answer :)

With all the choices you would think I’d have an easy time shopping. I can never find what I’m looking for.

Always wondered where the spiky gold necklace is from...
It’s from a local Swiss brand called Evelyne M
Not into the whole "fantasy self stuff" yikes. Not good
this channel is not like the others!
