When she first appeared on the scene, she just commanded your attention. You couldn't be indifferent to her. She was like no other singer - uncompromising, rivetingly honest, with a voice that just went right through you. She was a phenomenon. I remain a huge fan.
She's full of integrity. I have always had so much respect for her. When she said that her goal was ( I'm summing it up this is not exact words but pretty close) To get across the board ( game board) without compromising her contract with the Lord. She said that the music industry is extremely hard to uphold your contract to the Lord. We all know she was absolutely right about that.
These UA-cam videos do not really capture how powerful these songs were when you listened to them at the time they were released, in your dorm room, at full volume, at 18 years old. It was a religious experience. Sinead captured everything about what it felt like to be her age, my age, our age, at that time in the world. The anger, the love, the desperation, the sexuality, the hope, and the hopelessness. All of it. I've never experienced anything like that since.
I'm glad Norwegian blue explained it how elegantly she is as I simply couldn't. I knew absolutely nothing about this wonder woman but there's a lot to take in. With respect, there is a famous monastery here in Gifford east Lothian (Nunraw) I'm certain she would have had the perfect solitude and work experience if she stayed a few days for her own peace and mind , quite a few people visited for many reasons. Stay strong wherever you land Angel lady.❤❤❤

This song is so much sadder now that I know what it’s about. I always thought it was about a woman who lost children due to war or the famine. When I found out it was written about 3 stillborn children Sinéad had, every word got sharper, the pain, anger, and complex grief, more apparent, and the song still somehow became more beautiful. Sinéad has gone through some terrible shit that would break down the strongest of men. She was physically and spiritually abused. She spoke out against clerical sexual abuse decades before anyone else did, and got even more abuse for doing so. Bless you now and forever Sinéad, we love you, be strong, better days are ahead.

Amazing responses to her death. It has revived interest in her music and her ideas and I hope her children benefit hugely from this both emotionally and financially. I feel sad that I didn't pay more attention to her music while she was alive.

She is one of the very few artists that touch my heart with every single song they have ever sung. Every song has great meaning and a story to tell not many artists touch me like her. She is beautiful and has a beautiful voice of a angel!
In this context, I think of painters or writers whose real value was recognized way after their deaths... Sadly, but maybe not wrongly applicable to Sinead/Shuhada as well. Her time is yet to come.

I truly do look forward to the next decade of your music with your understanding of religion and inclusiveness....THANK YOU. from the bottom of my heart for the music.
Seeing words of celebration and gratitude for Sinead when she was alive makes my heart warm. I really hope she saw comments such as these ones and realised how respected, admired and loved she was. I really wish there was a next decade of music and I wish she could have found the strength to carry on 💔
i heard her first aged 21, in New Zealand, at uni. A girlfriend was a bit of a rebel like Sinead. She had this album. 27 years later, its still very powerful. Sinead is unique, more open and emotional and confessional than everyone else!
A crystal clear voice with the same crystal clear soul and heart. I just feel the need of leaning down, kneeling in front her. Won't ever forget her and the songs the way sung by her. Good Lord! She is heavenly. Thank you wherever you are. At least in my heart, Hungary.
First time hearing this beautiful creation from Sinead . She is gone is physical form , but her spirit remains amongst us all , just like all those good souls who have moved on . HUMANITY HAS SUFFERED ENOUGH. Blessings to all

Simply amazing always... I'd find comfort in her songs before I went to bed at night... alone, having uprooted to California to pursue my dreams. Knew no one.. but her songs truly brought a sense of pain and love at the same time, RIP artist.

i feel i grew up with her, she's few years older than me. i respect her allegiance to her own's beliefs, she never feared to express so openly, such a wonderful memorable artist
Such an unique natural beauty, no plastic surgery needed for this angelic face. I’m so sorry that you were hurt to your very soul I know your pain. Praying that your pain has finally gone.
Maybe exactly this "beautiful child" was triggering something in the mother - certain people with personality problems (which Sinead then sadly inherited, but in a different manner) cannot bear facing a power they themselves obviously seem to miss, so they do everything to destroy them. This is an underlying pattern of many abusive situations. Its all a game of power and not losing ones status. Poor Sinead.
This is one of the coolest videos in the history of video making, and I don't even know how they did it, especially since this was live. The synchronicity between her singing on stage and the image of her singing in the video is amazing. Last but not the least the vocals are fantastic, haunting. At times she sounds like a giant bird from another planet. The sound of her voice is not human. She was a very special human being.
Sinead..this song has been engrained in my soul ever since the very first time I heard it and watching you perform it just made every hair on my body stand up n I feel like crying again because I used to sing it and feel all the emotions that you obviously feel Thank You Again for sharing your gift with me and the rest of the world..💙 keep singing my sweet

Each of these my three babies
I will carry with me
For myself
I ask no one else will be
Mother to these three
And of course
I'm like a wild horse
But there's no other way I could be
Water and feed are not tools
That I need for the thing that I've chosen to be
In my soul
My blood and my bones
I have wrapped your cold bodies around me
The face on you
The smell of you
Will always be with me
Each of these my three babies
I was not willing to leave
Though I tried
I blasphemed and denied
I know they will be returned to me
Each of these my babies
Have brought you closer to me
No longer mad like a horse
I'm still wild but not lost
From the thing that I've chosen to be
And it's 'cause you've thrilled me
Silenced me
Stilled me
Proved things I never believed
The face on you
The smell of you
Will always be with me
Each of these my three babies
I will carry with me
For myself
I ask no one else will be

Seeing words of celebration and gratitude for Sinead when she was alive makes my heart warm. I really hope she saw comments such as these ones and realised how respected, admired and loved she was. I really wish there was a next decade of music and I wish she could have found the strength to carry on 💔

@@legin3753 i think it's more than that... I can't describe it
@@iicii77 The depth of her soul shows thru her Irish eyes .
That's true, but it's her beautiful heart I love most about her. That and her authenticity.
she should be punished for her beliefs.
Odpoczywaj w Pokoju. ❤
She has such a commanding voice, powerful, emotive, and tender all at her calling. God! The amount of talent in that woman.
Beautiful
i heard her first aged 21, in New Zealand, at uni.
She's beautifully ,authenticly and uniquely herself, unlike many singers/ performers.
И очень скромная и даже застенчивая 😔
That voice unparalleled.
First time hearing this beautiful creation from Sinead . She is gone is physical form , but her spirit remains amongst us all , just like all those good souls who have moved on . HUMANITY HAS SUFFERED ENOUGH. Blessings to all
Beautiful 😢
This song absolutely never grows old
Sinead was the most beautiful shy intelligent young lady, she was so far ahead of her time in every way! I hope she is looking out for Ireland ☘️ in the next world ! RIP😢
Simply amazing always... I'd find comfort in her songs before I went to bed at night... alone, having uprooted to California to pursue my dreams. Knew no one.. but her songs truly brought a sense of pain and love at the same time, RIP artist.
Как же она прекрасна! Ее уникальный голос,её ангельская внешность 🥰😇.Она похожа на инопланетянку.
И как же ее безмерно жаль!😰Огромная утрата.Надеюсь,там ее душа обретет покой🙏🤍
God has embraced you like the beautiful daughter he's created. Everyone took this angel for granted. You were and always will be amazing. Thanks for being part of my life
I don't think anyone took over granted. She was a worldwide smashing success celebrated around the world. So where was she taken for granted? You talk such smack idiot

So many memories. Just brilliant with the most amazing voice. RIP Sinead. Thanks for your work and getting me through some of the roughest years of my life knowing someone else understood the pain.
i feel i grew up with her, she's few years older than me. i respect her allegiance to her own's beliefs, she never feared to express so openly, such a wonderful memorable artist
You impacted me in my teens, Sinead. Rest in peace.
Love him iam 69 he is my mums 3rd nephew we still enjoy his vocals
Wow, I never saw this video at the time, but I always loved the song
Such an unique natural beauty, no plastic surgery needed for this angelic face. I’m so sorry that you were hurt to your very soul I know your pain. Praying that your pain has finally gone.
She was just lovely. Deep hearted, warm souled and real.
How could such a cruel mother Not see the beauty in her own Child???Sinead O'conor is Beautiful...God bless'd her this much!!!Love you,Sinead
Her mother was an unwell person.
Childhood trauma is a powerful thing and it misforms brains.
She is so beautiful! She doesnt hv to do anything, no hair, no girly stuff, she is just stunning!
Was für eine Stimme, was für eine Seele! Früh gebrochen hat sie um Liebe gekämpft und soviel Liebe gegeben! RIP stunning beauty! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Every time I hear this song the tears come rolling down. Every fucking time.
Śpij spokojnie, miłości, nie zwróci Ci świat niczego, a Ty dałaś mu wszystko: tkliwość, wrażliwość, serce....
Byłaś moim głosem , dziękuje Ci...
💓💓💓💘
Sinead..this song has been engrained in my soul ever since the very first time I heard it and watching you perform it just made every hair on my body stand up n I feel like crying again because I used to sing it and feel all the emotions that you obviously feel Thank You Again for sharing your gift with me and the rest of the world..💙 keep singing my sweet
What a lovely creature she was. Stunning voice, powerful songs. Thank you for the beauty you brought to the world.
Say what you like about Sinead and the way she has lived her life (for which I have the most respect) that is the voice of an absolute angel.
