"an artist's job is to be themselves at any cost. And then you don't even have to think about how it affects people..." (from the interview) "Do not let fear or ambivalence dominate you this day. You are practicing your freedom and exercising it, for you can only be free when you are still inside, and if you are still inside, you are free already." I was only 17 when Lennon died but it hit me particularly hard because he sang about what it meant to be human. Sinead’s death is resonating with me on an even deeper level. Maybe it’s because I’m 60 and I’m in the autumn of my years. She was fiercely human and incredibly intelligent, and had such moral clarity. With her, I felt like the world had a tiny shot at redemption or at the least there was someone who shared my values. When she died, I lost a little more faith.

I remember the day of Lennon's murder. My clock-radio woke me up for work. I was 20, and I had been a Beatles fan since age 6. Sinead's death hit me like a truck. I read it on a silly gossip site two hours before it hit the news. The comment wrecked me. It was said very kindly. I began radiation treatment for Cancer that day. She had enough of this world. It wore her down.

      @@Ruby-G
Madame, Mademoiselle, thank you for the reply !
But to say that According to Islam this and that etc.. may cause a cognitive bias that prevent us to understand correctly !
" According to Islam" do you mean the Quran (the 1st source), the Prophet's (peace on him ) sayings , or what did scholars understand from these 2 sources ?
There is indeed a saying by the prophet , when he passed by a group of women (thus these women already were Muslims, believers, etc...) He passed by the women and said, ‘''O women! Give charity, for I have seen that you form the majority of the people of Hell.’ They asked, ‘Why is that, O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied, ‘You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands .'''
Now I 'm sure that of course a lot of women aren't like that , and you among them .
But , the thing above should be put in right place , because that saying Teaches us (rich people man & women) to give Charity ,but only after believing of course in the Prophet as a Messenger of Allah the One and Only God ! There's also other texts in the Quran that described Man's nature as Greedy, wants always more etc.. that's true , that's why Allah always teaches us to give to the poor, to implore him and ask for his forgiveness because we always commit some sins (small or big ones ) because we're not perfect and WE DO KNOW THAT !
The Problem is when MAN knows this but he continue with acting boastfully (Pharaoh , all tyrant in history , who 99% of them were men not women , (Hitler too) ) , disbelieving and having no consideration toward Allah the Lord ! That's the Major Sin : disbelieving boastfully the Message Of Allah Creator , after acknowledging all the evidences .In this case, ALLAH the Lord, tells us that such a person after his death shall be a Hell's Dweller for ever !
But of course every one who did believe the message of GOD before death Allah will forgive him aall his sins committed before (including murder) so he will start a new fresh page ! 🙂
Even Suicide (of course if committed in total consciousness , we don't talk about disorders that may alter the brain , thus could cause a suicide act) , and every other sin a part from Disbelieving , Allah could with his Mercy forgive it after death , or at worse the sin could be punished in Hell but for sometime only ! (I'm talking about the case of a person who did these other sins and died without any remorse or asking forgiveness , but of course when the person is still alive and do ask forgiveness , ALLAH would accept his begging ) 🙂
In conclusion and That's the GENERAL RULE From THE QURAN (1st source) The WORST SIN EVER That GOD WON'T Forgive IT After Our Death , is " Disbelieving in ALLAH The LORD " (That what a lot powerful people like Pharao in Moise era , etc.. DID , and were Men ! Thank God , the queen of Shabaa (Woman) believed after The Prophet King Salamon teaches her ! )
That MAJOR SIN deserves of course an eternal hell punishment !
All sins a part from that ( made by one who did believe) are not punishable for eternity !
So Madame, I hope that my reply would give you some answers ! Do not forget that even In Ireland and all Europe centuries ago when people had a lot of Morality , it was very different of today's people going astray !

She is not just some "sad tormented" creature but a woman of deep feeling and conviction who spoek out against injustice in an often corrupt and cruel world whilst most people turn a blind eye.
She no doubt expereinced life more fully and deeply than most could ever hope for and that ilso includes at times feeling great pain and anguish..its called being a human being and it doesn't make her a torutured soul but a senstive human being who was let down and failed in many ways as people like Sinead so often are in a world where people prefer distraction and shopping then actually caring about the world and life.

What a find saddest of all about this beautiful, deep-thinking young woman, trying to explain to the almost sceptical interviewee where she was coming from, is her very intelligent rationalisation of who she felt she was. Why would it even necessary for her to have to do that? In her inner being she analysed her idea of the difference between honesty and dishonesty. She was so in need of the Holy Spirit, which she naturally believed in as most Irish people did. Every tribe on the planet seeks their own truth. She was deeply disappointed, obviously, when she encountered dishonesty by those who stole the "from knee to knee" truths passed down and wielded it as a power to this day to control good people - the genuine believers - instead of genuinely mentoring Christ himself. There are wonderful priests in the Catholic Church but, tragically, power freaks - a minority - who have destroyed what Christ wants. If they can say He is Love, then prove that by full example in order to assist the wonderful genuine Christians and priests who wish to assist humanity. Sinead may have tried very hard to prove the goodness in everyone and tried many things in her days in the Desert, so inwardly alone as she searched frantically for answers. It is heartbreaking she is gone way too soon but God never left her. He kept her fortitude going as long as possible. Let no one remotely be judgemental, think of those who are hurt beyond the beyonds now and for a long time to come. She was amazingly strong and a fighter of injustice +++ but coupled with inner/outer beauty, honesty and no lies, please - she deserves nothing but respect, understanding and a great wish she is with her Catholic God - Jesus Christ - and the God she also adhered to in her final years. May she rest in sublime peace & love forever with her little boy and all of those gone before her. Condolences to all experiencing her painful loss.

What a beautiful soul she was. It's a tragedy that her mental state started to decline so much a few years later when she was misdiagnosed and given psychiatric drugs. From these early interviews I am sure that she could have overcome all her psychological challenges - depression, childhood trauma, relationship problems etc with her faith etc had she not let so-called doctors unbalance her brain with these strong drugs. Even the cannabis was beginning to get very strong by then.

      What was the misdiagnosis? Bipolar?

    • @summerofplums
      @summerofplums 10 місяців тому +2

@@Julia-LArt Yes, according to various accounts, including her own, Sinead got a second diagnosis a few years after the BP one which said Personality Disorder - whatever that is. I studied Psych at university and am skeptical about all psychiatry, as there is no blood test for much of it, just subjective reporting. I think the medications do help to some extent, but they are very overused, for much longer than is worthwhile, leaving the patient dependent and with even more chemical imbalance than perhaps genetic. I think that nutrition, counseling and seeing some sort of justice for abuse is a better approach.

      @noreennellis2953 9 місяців тому +1

I doubt that very much. She had no issue with it and would've owned it if it fit. I mean, she announced that she was a lesbian and a short while later took that back. Then she announced she was bi but when her book came out and a veteran asked her because of how she looked, she said no she was straight. One can't go by her looks or the way she dressed, because she fell into bed with just about every guy she met. I don't say that to knock her either. When you've experienced brutality by someone who's supposed to love you, bonding with others is difficult at best. She said she had few friends in school as a young girl because all the girls bullied her and in one of her last interviews, she said she still had trouble making friends and wasn't sure how genuine the ones she had were. She was most likely a neurodivergent person. They ruled out bipolar but bipolar shares the same symptoms as ADHD. ADHD is about behavior and bipolar is about mood. Bipolar doesn't shift moods multiple times a day, ADHD does. She described temper tantrums at 20 and she didn't understand why she was more emotional and fiery than her sister. Sounds like emotional dysregulation. Probably also had oppositional defiance disorder, which is an ADHD comorbid condition. When you don't respond to depression meds or when you take bipolar meds for 10 years without improvement, doctors need to consider other things. Cutting school, smoking, stealing. Label her a bad girl and send her away rather than find out what's behind the behavior. And speaking of school, for all the disinterest, cutting and then dropping out, this woman spoke thoughtfully like she had an Ivy League education. She might've been what they call 2E or twice exceptional. I think it was a mistake to cancel her tour and the work on her album. She got energized by fans at concerts and the alternative was to ruminate on all the things she might've done differently with Shane. One allows some kind of healing while the other is like picking a wound. Sorry I ran on. Another ADHD trait. Much like that open letter she penned for Miley Cyrus.

    That bend down to serve
    Where flowers and fruit
    Are piled upon pile
    And where the leaves rustle
    To the fragrant breeze
    Melodiously enchanting, the dwellers within
    Come my child
    Don't be so sad
    Close your eyes
    And ponder a while
    Let's go to a place
    Where forever is joy
    And love is real
    Where the gates are eight
    For the actions on earth
    Where palaces are made
    Of silver and gold
And others of a single pearl
    And many decorated
    With diamonds and emeralds
    And garnets and rubies
    Where the thrones are raised
    And couches adorned
    Where everyone smiles
    And never grows old
    Come my child
    Don't be so sad
    Close your eyes
    And ponder a while
    Let's go to a place
    Where forever is joy
    And love is real
Where there is no argument or pain
    Nor calamity sorrow or death
Where no one cries or sheds a tear
    Where there are beautiful companions
    With lustrous eyes
And pearl like boys that never grow
Where the angels bring gifts, and salaam and salaam
In the home of peace, rest and reward
And when you will gaze, upon the LORD most high
And when you will gaze, upon the LORD most high
    Only then will you understand

She's right. The church is about continuity the way it is at all costs. If you cover impropriety over you're exactly the other one, not God. The other one would commit those sins, and certainly hide it until the moment is right to reveal itself. Then it will be too late.
