It was because how & where swayman was sprawled, he wouldn’t have been able to push off the opposite post to get across to stop it, even if coyle wasn’t there at all. The cross check had no effect on the outcome of that play, it would’ve been a goal regardless.
I also want to add, Coyle’s back turned to the play and his skates are pointed at Swayman. A small push makes him glide into Swayman. Easier to be moved being pushed from behind than if you’re facing the player.
11:18 the reason coyle goes down so easily is when you are standing in the crease like that and you know the goalie is there, you don't move your legs as much to adjust to the contact for fear of stepping on your goalie, so his center is thrown off very easy.

Yes the refs have missed some calls but when we literally are relying on 5 players (top fwd line and top d pair) to do everything you arent going to win games. Despite all this the Oilers could easily have been up 3-0 if not for a game 1 breakdown and game 3 with all those missed opportunities by hitting posts when the net was available on many of those shots. Silovs was good but the Oilers werent that threatening. On top of that 28/44 shots came from those 5 players I mentioned, literally no one else is doing anything for the team and Nurse-Ceci continue to be horrible every single game and Skinner lets in a goal every time they are on the ice.
