The Doors channel is the official UA-cam home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.
The Doors are still the greatest rock band the U.S.ever produced.
And then Jim hit the bottle
They have to share that category with Creedence Clearwater Revival.

morrison was too young
There were so many bands that sounded the same and then there was The Doors! They created something so special and unique that no band will ever duplicate. They are in a league all by themselves. Jim's poetry interpreted beautifully by Ray, Robby and John.
Well said!

The doors are not hidden gems. It is a legend of an era.
Certainly one of the most unique sounding bands I’ve ever heard.
Jim, Ray, Robbie, and John had the right amount of chemistry to make the Doors the best musical group of all time. Their music lives forever! RIP Jim and Ray!

The Doors are the most underrated band of the 60s. The rock music scene was at its peak and yet the Doors still had a sound nobody else had. Morrison's voice cannot be recreated...
Agree… they get too snubbed by press and peers.. written off as a train wreck or over hype of morrison sex god looks image etc…. Works wise, very innovative and singular… have aged well. Speak to the chaos of the present better then artist do today.
Can't be recreated? You haven't heard me at a karaoke bar 🎤 😅
underrated?? still one of the most popular band of the 60's 60 years later.....
Because what Jim wrote and sang about is timeless.
@Three Six Nine The Doors were , and are somewhat underrated...
Pretty much the only song you heard by them on the radio in the 60's was light my fire .. my least favorite song by them .
They're also underrated for their originality
The beginning of this song is EVERYTHING
I always thought this was the 1st electric guitar feedback song.

The Doors were so different from all the other bands at the time. They had their own sound. And Jim's voice was incredible! So very soulful. So grateful to have Robby Krieger here on UA-cam.
Now think about where we are today in 2023. It was a warning nobody has heeded. I don't blame our society but the unbridaled greed that everybody was warning about and what are we going to do about it? The corruption of the supreme court. Turning back all women's rights. The lights will never go out for The Doors
I graduated in '69. The Doors was by far one of my favorite groups to listen to when I was in high school, much to my parent's chagrin. When they were gone I use to crank up the stereo and play their songs over and over. Stoned on nothing but music. I knew the words to many of their songs....wild child full of grace.... I was stunned when Jim ODed.
did you get to see them live?

With The Doors...there is no end !
Your's is one of my favorite comments. How could there be an end after you enter the doors. When the doors of perception are cleansed everything appears to man as it is...infinite.
I was only 5 when he left this planet. My older brothers had a lot of 60s and 70s albums I listened to as I got older. I never picked up the Doors album to have a listen. I'm 56 now and recently watched a Doors documentary and the movie. Music definitely gets us through times in life. I can really relate to Jim and how he felt it was utterly impossible to be grounded in this 3D world we live in. I was trapped in a cult from ages 11 to 28. It was one of the only things that wasn't taken away from me. I think it saved my life. I'm mostly healed from my traumas and I'm kinda late in discovering I love the Door's music 🎶🎵 but never too late 😃
Jim is our spiritual brother, a kindred spirit.
The best band ever ...so good and so hypnotic ...brings the joy and goosebumps in the same time
Fantastic performance of One of the best songs of this band. Legendary music and Happy birthday to Jim, he would be 80 years old today...
This recording is a combination of their absolutetly live performance at Madison Square Gardens in 1970 and the Television-Byen in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1968 .
Pay attention young people, this is from a time not so long ago when people wrote songs, and would sing and play instruments.
