    Great 👍🏼
The main problem is it looks easy if it’s one or two dependent column but it gets complicated if it is more that 😤

      It is true!
4 or 5 may be a messy code!
      Regards!

This is the only video available with code and I am so grateful to you as such conditions, with a large database is best handled by Appscript. However, I have a 3rd column that is dependent on the 2nd column as already depicted in your video. I am struggling to get the code worked out for the 2nd dependency. Do you see any possibility to help with that? I will be extremely grateful to you for the same. Thank you, in advance!

      Hi!
      Thanks for the kind words!
I don´t have a video with code, but I'll start working on it!
      Kind Regards

Really helpful, followed every step and was able to build 3 interdependent drop down lists. Thank you for explaining each thing properly.
Quick question - it does take like couple of seconds for the dependent dropdown to load when we select value in the active cell. Do you know of any trick to make this more faster?

      Hello!
      Thanks for the knid words!
We are doing it with an array, so for now is the fastest. I don´t know if there is a faster way, I´ll think about it
      Regards!

thank you so much for this!
if i'm going to run it on multiple pages on a workbook, will it be easiest to just copy the code & re-write the name of the page, or is there a simple way to have it run on any pages that aren't the data set?
i'm wanting to use it for a transport related job planner; so instead of make/model/year I've got company/address/contact, but we have a new page per work week so if I could easily run the dropdowns on multiple pages without having to manually rename each time that'd be swell :)

Same sort of thing here... I have one sheet that has contact info, and other sheet(s) that source the first. Just got the first of the dependent sheets working (awesome, thanks so much!); I'd be very interested in how to make it work across multiple sheets by referencing the active sheet name....

this is the only real solution i found for my spreadsheet. But why does it take so long for the script to load results? Have to wait 2 seconds after making first dropdown selection to get correct list in second dropdown. Would there be any solution to this?

      Hello!
Yes, this is the problem with GAS. It is a server-side language, meaning that it will always be a bit slower than, say, a formula, or an excel macro
An alternative would be to do it without code like in this video

can you add to your data base list? Mine are labeled category and subcategory. Apparently I missed a few and tried to add them.. but it didn't work. Any suggestions?

      Hello!
I´m not sure I understand your problem. You´re including new categories and they are not showing up in the dropdowns?
      Regards!

Yes. my tabs are Category (yours is make) and subcategory (yours is model). after I data validated these 2 columns I realized I forgot a couple of things. When I added to the list (your car db) they did not show up in drop downs. How can I add these without redoing the whole spreadsheet. Thank you for replying.
