May I ask? What if it displays #REF! importrange internal error? Is it because of slow internet or because the source sheet is too big and is constantly changing the number of sheets since it is used by the whole department?

Hey. I have never done any coding before i did this. Thank you so mutch for the tutorial. I have manage to get most to work, my only problom is that i cant get it to function unless i hit run in apps scripts. Meaning when i close the file and open it again, its still not password protected. I cant see any mistake in my coding. Any ideas? what did i miss?

The function I want to call with OnEdit takes more than 30 sec to complete, so it got terminated half-way every time when I triggered the OnEdit... Do you have other ways to trigger a function call on a mobile device without the time limitation?

Do any of your videos address reading a dropdown selection from a google doc (NOT a sheet) via Google Apps Script?

So I got this to work on desktop which is pretty cool in itself (thanks! you earned a sub with just that), but I can't get it to work on mobile which is where I really need it. Is there something else I need to do? I'm not just trying to add to a counter though, I'm trying to bring up prompts that I normally activate via button clicks. My question relates to source data. When you open the destination sheet - which includes an importrange cell, does the opening of the destination sheet cause the source sheet to fully refresh? I have a very large sheet that can take 10-15 seconds to fully refresh (it includes many sumifs cells as well as import from web site activities - which can take several seconds). If the very large sheet is my source sheet, will my destination sheet take the full amount of time for both sheets to refresh or will it only take the time to extract the as is data from the source sheet? This could also mean that in order to ensure that my destination data is up to date - that I open my source sheet first. Thanks for your response.

I'm looking for a way to have multilevel dependant drop downs in a single cell, since the dropdown without categories would have too many selection options. I'm trying to categorise the selection options, so that I can just select the category, and then the specific option I want much quicker. How do I do this? I don't want to display the category, only the specific selection.

I collect data from a Google Form on a website. I can then use Query to analyse the responses. I simply add extra columns to the Form responses sheet for comments and the like. Then Query works perfectly.

Very cool update. I will be trying it out with a Forms response spreadsheet: I assume that it will avoid the problem of having additional blank rows at the end of the sheet.

Do you have another video that explains how to have several different numbers in a single cell, and I only want some to increase while others are supposed to stay the same..? Sheets basically only increases the last number, automatically, and keeps anything before that same - no matter how many or what formats.

You got this wrong again. In each line there is a date. And not all of the items are purchased or sold in one date, its in different dates. Yet you assigned the Total Purchases(in units) and Total Sales(units) in each line. This resulted in the whole FIFO cost flow being WRONG because it did not follow the Item's TRANSACTION HISTORY. The Mastodon T-Shirt for example only had 2 inputs on 7/15 yet you assigned the total of all inputs for that item in that same date which was 7 even though the 5 (7-2) inputs happened in 9/1 which was a later date. Please FIX this. The viewers thought it was all correct and they probably ended up applying it wrong too in their work.

Is it possible to make a sequence that gets 1 larger every time (maybe with a nested sequence in a sequence?): 0.1, | 0.1, 0.2, | 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, | 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 | etc. (i just put | for readability). It seems useful. So far I have been using ROW for sequences with steps of 1 (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) but I struggled to figure out how to do things by for example 2 steps at once (1, 3, 5 ,6, or 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3....). Seems like I can at least use this for those cases.
