The FAA did NOT do the investigation of the Starship incident, SpaceX did, then the FAA accepted both their report and the corrective actions is outlined. I expect it is the same with New Sheppard, Blue Origen took this long to investigate and write their report which was submitted to, and accepted by, the FAA.
Space x basically created the faa investigation form making the faa aware what need to be looked at
Not quite. FAA _did_ participate in SpaceX' investigation, with NTSB and NASA being in the role of observers, They didn't just rubber-stamp SpaceX' findings, although, of course, SpaceX engineers did most of the legwork.
Als2nd you’re absolutely right. FAA doesn’t have the technical expertise in starship or new glenn to understand what went wrong and how to fix it - that’s the job for the spacex / BO engineers, while FAA uses their expertise to validate the report and its logic for corrective steps.
FAA acts as the referee, but the players are still the ones actually at the space companies
@@indi8745 Correct. When this one day comes under NTSB jurisdiction, the agency's engineers will get involved in the case of accidents (here they were just observers).
As expected of Blue Origin... a slow, thoroughly bureaucratic paperwork slogging mess burying the technical answers far from interested eyes. 😅
I worked for a much smaller company who builds cables for Blue Origin B3 and B4 engines. After seeing how these cables are cheaply made and Blue Origin allows these small companies to build for them I would never trust any of their rockets. I soon quit after that failure last September.
Why were they cheap?
Why are they not spending the money to build their own cables. Barely getting by source and made by unexperienced, under paided workers. I'm baffled how they are getting contracts by NASA.
@@Legend0f420 What kind of cables was the company making? like wiring harnesses?
Yes wiring harness for the engines
SpaceX should design and build a Starship interior (full size), place a number of astronauts (maybe the actually expected group) into it, and spend serious time to see what (if anything) is not quite right. If they've done this already, I'm not aware of it. Note: the actual rocket shell might be good, while the interior should be made of temporary material as it's likely to be changed.
I think they may have just started on this using the nosecone of one of the rockets which was due to be scrapped
What the starship undergoes changes as it is likely?
@@kimpeater1 Of course. It will take time to examine 'Living in a Starship', and they may as well start now. Unless they decide that the whole Starship concept is a failure and dump it, they need to design organizing and living within it.
I'm still convinced a few starships are going to make up a space station to go to mars
@@nickcollins1528 Nice concept. One-way Starships collecting into a satellite base around Mars would be a nice possibility as well. It would be a better control over having an exclusively Mars base. Transferring between Mars and satellite might be a way to deal with gravity, air, and radiation issues. It might take time to get a Mars base set up and sufficiently protected/supplied.
Jeff tried to kill Tolkien, why not Kirk. 😂
Thank you for providing excellent updates on the most exciting space stories 😊
Hi there thanks for updating me on the space industry that telescope 🔭 was amazing great 👍 video David 🚀❤️🇬🇧👌👍
Giant Magellan is sick
The truth about clickbaity titles is the real reason clickbaity titles get down votes.
Another good one!
FAA didn't 'give' the list of fixes to BO, and the same for SpaceX. The company provides the list of fixes they will do to fix the rocket deficiencies. Why does the media always get this wrong?
I was just going to comment the same thing, we are supposed to be getting updates from the channel, not correcting common knowledge from months ago...
Can't wait to see Magellan in action
I wonder why not create a MPS (Martian Positional system; akin to the Earth's GPS) for the MAV
It can be a monitoring and surveillance system too... IMO a small sat on scale similar to the spaceX Starlink's
What? The list the the "FAA gave SpaceX" was a list that SpaceX gave the FFA? Right? FFA didn't tell SpaceX what they needed to fix. SpaceX identified all those improvements and the FFA agreed? Am I wrong?
Great Video ! The Blue Origin New Shepard (BE-3 engine) is needed by NASA, BO and US ! The engine of New Shepard is in the family of Oxygen and Hydrogen engines for use on the BO Blue Moon HLS the BE-7 engine. The New Shepard can also test the hardware and software for the BO Blue Moon that is to land on the moon ! Also when the Lunar Water Ice (H2O) is recovered then the BO Blue Moon can be fueled on the moon for return to the LEO Commercial Space Station (CSS) for a 6.1 km/sec delta-V . The Lunar Workers can then return from LEO CSS on the Crew Dream Chaser or the Crew Dragon to earth surface ! Timothy Lipinski
The New Sheppard launched 22 times before the accident, not 8 times.
Might have been talking how many times that particular booster ad flown
Sample return mission: as complicated as possible with as many failure points as possible. Also, let's keep changing the mission profile.
why didn't the samples be kept on the rover and retrieve later.. why didn't the skycrane be program be landed on Mars using the thrust nozzles as landing pads? this will give practise of landing on Mars. why???
hi
So how did they make the other 6 mirrors?
Are they going to try using the lazar communication system?
I hope the FAA lets starship launch soon
Until bo has put something in orbit and back safety, they are just a bit player no matter how rich their owner is. New shephard is just a glorified flying farm silo. Small one at that.
The things we do for cool pictures of space... (My response). HELL YEA !!!
pictures more beautiful that man can ever hope to create like taking a pic of god. In a way that's exactly what it is 🌌
The truth is that we do not know the truth.
For Real 😉
Blue Origin needs some new internal changes. A lot of then.
I like these videos but the glitch transitions make my eyes feel bad. They seem to be designed to trigger epileptic episodes.
I made it a little past 3 minutes, I just can't watch you calling an expensive amusement ride a crewed mission anymore!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🏽
The rocks are what killed space x engines
♈
If you’re an English speaker then Chile is just pronounced ‘Chilly’
Not the same thing Not even close to a similar root cause .other than the fact that they were both rockets, in what world are they similar
huh
Metric pls.
New Glenn isn't 100% built? No kidding, it's not 1% built. It's still vaporware, and they've yet to fly an engine, let alone even orbit a paperclip. Lacking ANY real experience with orbit, BO getting all those contracts should be investigated.
You SX fan boys kill me with these comments, you sound so confident if one didn’t really know they would actually believe what you said. Yes BO has only made it to sub orbit but new glenn is about 80% complete!!!! Im not employed with BO but i work with companies that work directly with BO that keep detailed documentation on the progress of new glenn. Trust me i know exactly where new glenn is in its progress. As humanity needs and wants space companies to succeed as SX needs to be successful so does BO need to be successful. The only people that complain about BO and say untruths are you guys (SX fan boys) every body else wants BO to succeed. No matter how much you hate the thought that Blue Origin will be successful thats to bad and to sad because BO will be one of the giant multi trillion dollar rocket companies just like SX is going to be and they all will he competing with each other just like airlines do today. New glenn is right on track to launch in mid 2024. Get your facts straight before mindlessly commenting on something you know nothing about just because you dont like it!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Perseverance was launched on an Atlas V-541. This is a ULA vehicle. NOT ESA. Get your facts straight.
Love your channel but i was raised on the standard unit of measure not metric. If the United Stares changes to metric system, I’ll learn it. But could you at least throw some miles, feet and inches in every once in a while? Thanks!
Metric is the standard language of science
The truth is, I'm starting to dislike this channel due to the click baitey video titles 😑
Same! I came to say the same thing
Bezos sucks , musk sucks , it's hard to root for either of them .
Downvoted because of how you pronounce "Chile."
