I grew up wacthing that death scene and It felt like a kick in the balls.
My name is Patrick and I was talking to my friend when Calvin screamed It startled me super hard! 🤣
The fact Calvin and rick avoided spoilers for 3 months is unbelievably impressive.
I managed to avoid most spoilers but I think one or two things ended up slipping through my spoiler barrier but even then I’m kinda one of those weirdos where hearing spoilers and actually experiencing them are two different things

Willem Defoe really outdid himself with his performance in this movie, its amazing how he went from looking old and fragile as Norman to being an absolute beast as Green Goblin
That was the best part for me. I felt so sorry for Norman, but the way he was so easily shoved aside by the Goblin really cemented the horror the Goblin brings.
He killed it with his role in this absolutely amazing
He is a master at his craft.
If Defoe had been playing this type of character in a regular suspense thriller, he’d be getting nominated for it . Hollywood stays afloat on movies like this , but they resent them anyway. It’s aggravating

Tobey and Andrew's entrances were so unexpected... like .. I imagined it to be some heroic entrance or shit , but the funny entrance did the trick and I love it

For some reason that line makes me so sad because no matter what any version of Peter dose Uncle Ben or someone like him must always die to complete Spider-Man's origin story.
I'm sure there's more but the only story I can think of where Ben doesn't die he's a bad guy and makes Peter do bad things

It’s a quite literal death sentence
There is only one Spider-Man that I can think of that had a perfect life. From the 1990s Spider-Man animated TV show, The Spider-Man wearing the silver armor, where he never experience loss and uncle Ben was still alive.
It’s a absolute point in time
Tobey and Andrew’s could have been quick cameos and that would have been cool but they weren’t just cameo’s they were characters that helped and serviced the MCU version of Spider-Man’s story and their own.
It's amazing how they each got closure even though it was Tom's movie. Such good writing.
Yeah, most people would have preferred 2 Spideys to come in the climax with a big entrance and all but I'm really glad both of them were given humble entrances and flesh their story throughout the rest of the movie.

@@guidopasquetto911 I agree man, so many ways the movie could’ve been better. A little extra here, a few touch ups there.
Showing the villains being pulled from their universes at the time of their deaths which was in some leaked script or sum shit I read online, it would’ve been cool to actually see this in the movie, not a super important inclusion but it’s the little details that go a long way for me.
The beginning sequence with Peter getting into legal action and tryna live his life with his identity now public could’ve been an interesting, realistic, gritty aspect if it wasn’t blown over so quickly. A slow build-up to the main story and action is not a bad thing, and tackling a serious issue like Spiderman’s identity going public and being framed for murder shouldn’t be over in a quick, “quirky 🤪” montage.
More fight sequences between Spidey and each of the villains cause there honestly wasn’t enough of Spidey getting teamed up against and fucked up by our Sinister “Five”. Goblin literally did all the work in that apartment fight, I woulda loved to see more Lizard throwing Spidey around, scratching and tearing at him, biting his whole ass fuckin arm like the Troll did in GOW4 or sum shit. They were wasted af in this movie.
And everything with Sandman was so unnatural, after just being pulled from his own universe, his reaction is “not my Peter? Huh strange, yeah sure I’ll help you 🥴”, and his reasoning for fighting Spiderman is even more ridiculous. All cause he wants to go home, but he’s fighting the one person literally trying to send him home. Makes perfect sense 😂
I love the movie cause it genuinely feels the most like a Spiderman comic book out of any previous MCU Spiderman movies, and MCU movies in general. It was a lot of fun and a lot of fan service I appreciated and geeked over, but after watching the film in cinemas the first time and watching it a second time on its digital release, the problems are glaringly obvious.

Congrats to Calvin and Rick for dodging spoilers left and right for three months. As always, comedy is a huge staple in the MCU.

This movie was an 8/10. Good film but people act like it’s a 10 and it’s not. Toby had poor line delivery and acting in comparison to Andrew and Tom. Strange losing to Spider-Man was terrible he is much stronger and it’s not even close. And the entire plot of saving them and sending them back so they can either die anyway or go to prison forever was mid.

Tobey and Andrew looked after Tom like a little brother. They didn't let him make the mistakes they made.
Tobey made him realize that revenge wasn't the most important thing. Since he knew that revenge had in no way relieved him, he was burdened with an even greater burden.
Andrew did not let Tom lose his beloved girl because he knew how it hurt.

It's what I love about the various Spider-People crossovers we've gotten over the years. Few alternate universe team ups work as well as the Spiders working together do because of how similar their stories are and how usually isolated they are from the other heroes in their own universes. Suddenly they're with a team of other Spiders who *just get it* and understand what each and every one of them has gone through and what it means to do what they do. Look at Into the Spider-Verse for example, when they're all describing who it was that they lost to Miles. No matter the universe, the Spiders stick up for one another when they meet.

The crew's experiencing more emotional journey instead of over excitement in this movie and I love it.
Also, Michael Giacchino went hard with the score, 3 months later he did the same with The Batman score. One of the best composers no doubt.

@@bigeent.5160 complexity doesn't always mean quality. For example, Kratos' theme in the Norse Saga is based around three simple notes. When four notes is all you need to convey a character, that's impressive. The Batman's main theme is like an alarm for the criminals of Gotham, which is why it gets increasingly louder as Batman approaches, sort of like Darth Vader's Imperial March. But if you listen to the main theme's first half, it's a pretty complex because it represents the Bruce Wayne part of Batman. But come the second half, it gets simpler and more bombastic, because a symbol doesn't have to be complex. It just needs to convey a message.
While i love to see Tobey Maguire in this.. I gotta say, Andrew Garfield killed it. He is so god damn charismatic and likable.

They were all good but I think willem did a way better performance because it's been almost 20 years since he last played him and he came back strong and good, Most actors who haven't played a certain character in a long time don't instantly get back into it, but he did really good

Haha ya in my theater I was the only way that seemed to noticed! I was like “Charlie Cox!” To no reaction. Then to my sister I was like that’s daredevil! People started to connect the dots and when he caught the brick I heard some gasps.
Sucks that a lot of people haven’t seen the show, as it is easily one of marvels best. I’m excited that they are rebooting it!

A big part of that is where you're seeing the movie. In some regions, it's seen as perfectly acceptable to react aloud to the movie. In other places, it's seen as rude and annoying. Maybe Charlie was just in a place where people felt the need to contain themselves as much as they could.

I feel like I've said this a lot, but I'll say it again. This scene is so important, if you remember how both Osborns died. Tobey's Peter was supposed to get stabbed both times, but the Osborn men died instead. This time, he takes it on. Tobey's not just here to save Norman, but to save Harry. Because now he'll survive if Norman does.
Now that you mention it, it's also a really interesting expression of the great power/responsibility theme. Sometimes, in order to save someone from their demons, you have to willingly take on pain that you don't deserve, just because you can handle it.
plus if Norman lives, Harry won't spend the last 2 movies hating spiderman/peter's guts

There’s this hilarious moment in the bloopers where Tom is talking to Melissa Tomei at FEAST:

Another moment that I liked where Ned Leeds was asking Tobey Maguire if he had a best friend of his own and he explained about it and Ned Leeds was looking at both Tobey and Andrew Garfield, and then later on Ned types on the computer and looks at his Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and walks away nervously and promises him that he will never become a supervillain and trying to kill him and Andrew proudly nods at Ned Leeds giving him a pat on the back, the audience in the theater erupted in laughter. Another one which I thought is a great moment is where Ned Leeds is asking Peter to do something on the computer and all three Peter Parkers did the pointing thing

Here’s my experience with this movie: Saw this opening night with my sister and she is a massive fan of all the spider-man movies. She did’t know the multiverse stuff so she was genuinely taken aback when the villains(and spider-men) came back. When I asked what her favorite moment was I’ll never forgot what she told me.
“It was when Tobey met Doc Ock. He wasn’t speaking just to Tobbey but all the fans who grew with him.”
I’ve never seen her so emotional over something. It truly showed me how much care and thought was put into this movie speaking as someone how only watched Tom Holland movies in theaters.
When I also asked her what her favorite Spider-Man was she told me Tom Holland’s. Her reason?
“He reminded me of you.” She even jokingly called him “the superior Spider-Man” she doesn’t read comics but it got a chuckle out of me.

Something that occurred to me while listening to your discussion: the spell made "everyone in the world" forget that Peter is Spidey. They said that exact phrase several times: everyone in the world. And they made a point of saying that Nick Fury's off-planet. So there is their possible out if Holland does come back to the MCU: Furry might still remember.

Literally everyone who are off world and I wonder if the spell worked on Wanda or not I am sure after her Agatha harkness encounter she def had a some type of protection spell around her . I think by the time of spider man no way home events. She is already too powerful from studying that dark magic book and I m pretty sure doctor strange n Wong will be her number one target to keep an eye on while so he doesn't find out what's she truly upto. Which what it seems like from the next DR Strange 2 film trailer.
The silence that descended over the boys during May's final scene... very appropriate. Such a moving and realistic portrayal of immediate grief on Tom's part - refusing to accept what has just happened.

This movie felt like Marvel isnt just acknowledging the former Spiderman movies to exist, but also finishing lose ends and kind of put a golden alloy to it. This movie deserved every dollar it made.

Willem Defoe cackling after Spidey punches the shit out of him was the moment where I went “holy shit, Willem’s acting his heart out in this and it’s amazing.”
He falls back into the role so seamlessly.

The most heartbreaking part of that death scene was Peter being in denial and refusing to believe May had died. I cried almost as much as when Tony died, I swear to god.
Did May even realize she was dying? All she kept saying was just need to catch my breath.
Aunt May’s death was the first crying moment I had watching this movie and after that scene it just opened up a portal to the tears constantly falling for the duration of the movie😆. To me, Aunt May is one of the most central characters in Spider-man and at many times she is the heart of the comics due to her basically being Peter’s only mother figure so her death hit HARD.
There were two parts that got to me:
1. “It’s just me and you.” That was a callback to Homecoming and _ouch,_ it hurt.
2. The moment when Peter held up his hand with May’s blood on it and May asks if he’s okay. If _he’s_ okay. How selfless are you if you worry about your nephew’s wellbeing while you’re bleeding out and dying?
Idk what it was, usually I'm a sucker for scenes with a character I really care about breaking down in reaction to something (and spider-man is my favorite superhero of all time and I love Tom and the mcu), really I didn't get emotional at all in this film apart from a little bit early on with Osborne referencing his son. I knew I was supposed to be emotional in that scene, I just wasn't at all for some reason. All though I tend to cry more often now when I think something within a film is just executed so beautifully instead of an actual moment being sad haha

The whole reaction is amazing, but I have to say Aaron's face throughout this entire video is the most precious thing I have ever seen. Sad and happy moments alike. Honestly wonderful to watch
RE: The Aunt May line was very specific, "With great power, there must come great responsibility" because in the OG comic that was the line, and it came from the Narrator, not Ben.
i'll be interested to see if they explore more of Peter's unspoken relationship with Uncle Ben in that Disney+ animated series about his freshman year not to mention how much it will differ from Ben's storylines between Tobey, Andrew and the comics
That OG line in the comics was not spoken by any character to Peter. It was part of narration in the final panels after Peter reflects on not being able to save Ben.
It didn't come from her, it didn't come from any character. It was the narrator that said it. You literally read this somewhere and just typed it here without probably reading the actual comic my god.

I'm honestly amazed how they were kept unspoiled for 3 MONTHS!
I love the comics when Peter reveals he’s pulling his punches 100% of the time. It only emphasizes uncle bens saying he has so much freaking power, but he has the self-control to never go beyond what’s necessary to protect people, like in the superior spiderman comics when doc oc is in control of peters body, he punches scorpions jaw off by accident he then thinks to himself that Peter has been holding back as to protect his enemies from mortal harm and if he so wished Peter could kill almost all his enemies It just goes to show how brilliant the writers and directors are for letting him let loose a little in the last scene and completely overwhelming goblin.
The most emotional scene for me was when Andrew Garfild's Spider-Man saves MJ! That was so simbolic!
Something i didn’t notice the first time I saw it, is that when Peter (Tom) is fighting the goblin at that last fight scene and is about to kill him, and Tobey stops him, they’re fighting on top of Captain America’s shield (for the statue), which I think is an amazing detail, since that shield is the literal physical embodiment of justice and morality.
That isn’t the first time Peter‘s encountered that shield. Mysterio used it in his illusions to torment him. It’s almost like that shield shows up from time to time, reminding Peter of that step into the big leagues when he stole the shield from Cap.
i thought about how the agent in falcon and the winter soldier killed someone like that with caps shield

when U.S. Agent uses that shield to kill someone and covers it with blood it is a huge travesty because that shield has NEVER been covered in blood before because even evil deserves fair justice. look at anyone's reaction of that scene on youtube and you will see very sad faces and tears.

This movie made the MCU Peter Parker into Spider-Man in my opinion like man, that ending gave me chills seeing him in the apartment all alone and no Stark Tech!
Same I like to think of the trilogy as his origin story and the next trilogy is him as Spider-Man
No Stark Tech, No Avengers, No Families, No Friends, he’s alone now, with great power came great responsibility.
Idk why people always complain about “Stark Tech” like the key defining moments in Homecoming and Far From Home don’t feature Peter using Stark Tech. It all comes down to his growth as a character. Like in Homecoming when he lifts the rubble off of him, or in Far From Home when he learns to trust his sense. Sure Stark Tech helps in some situations, but to me Peter was already Spider-Man before No Way Home. It’s just now he’s a more traditional take on the character. That being said I love the finale to this movie.

Honestly this just shows us that Toby is the experience Spider-Man out of all of them. He webbed Andrews Web shooters and he didn’t even know anything about it. Yes he might have think that they might have the same powers has him but just the tactician behind it all just really put chills down my spine.

I saw that as just the writers trying to pander to the Tobey fangirls. In reality, Andrew's Spider-Man would have beaten Tobey's hands down. His spider sense is the strongest of the 3 and he's younger and more agile than Tobey.
It was 100% just a pandering moment.

Regardless of what the future holds, no one will *EVER* top Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. It’s kind of a bummer because I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel is hesitant to introduce a different version of Gobby out of that realization. How could anyone ever even touch his performance? I don’t care how old he is, I want to see that man play the Joker.

My impression is that there are few universes where both he AND Tony Stark coexist on the same sort of level. There's not really enough room in the world for both. But in this instance, with Tony gone and all sorts of other things alluding to Osborne, he might begin to make some moves to put himself in that position in the MCU reality.

Frankly, while I doubt anyone will do the role quite as well, I'm still pretty sure someone could do plenty good enough. It would still be worth it. Being unable to enjoy it as such is a defect in the viewer, not the actor, in such cases.

I don’t think he needs to play the Joker, this movie’s version of him already seemed _really_ inspired by Ledger’s version. Maybe more in the writing than the acting, but still.
Part of what I really love about this movie is that not only is this a huge turning point for MCU's Spider-Man, but it also acts as a proper conclusion to the two Spider-Man movie franchises that came before it. Both Raimi movies and Webb movies were unable to have proper conclusions to their stories, but this movie really gives closure to both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parkers. That despite how Spider-Man 3 ended, Peter and Mary Jane did get together in the end, and now, years after the death of Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter is able to move on because he saved MCU MJ. I think anyone who loves either of the previous franchises can enjoy this movie, even if they aren't fans of the MCU.
It kinda makes me sad, I dont think I'll ever have a theatre experience like this again. The whole crowd (on opening night as well so it was full) was just so excited. The reactions when Charlie, Andrew and Tobey appeared were unbelievable

No matter how many times I watch this movie but this movie makes me cry every time...
23:34 somebody pointed out that Peter 3 didn’t use his webs until the very very last moment because he didn’t trust them like last time - he used his _entire body_ because he wasn’t about to make the same mistake and the third time I saw this I had that in my head and I started crying at that bit
One of the most iconic moments for me was all three Spider-Men swinging together where they do their respective poses mid air
the thing that I loved the most about this movie is that they made the 3 have a sibling dynamic. it manages to give them an identifiable dynamic while at the same time giving us something we've never seen before in a Spider-Man film.
Tobey - The Oldest Brother (supportive, caring, always offering advice)
Andrew - The Middle Child (overly excited, always joking around, yet somewhat insecure next to his siblings who needs a boost of self-confidence)
Tom - The Youngest Brother (wide-eyed, naive compared to his siblings, who by the end of the movie in making his new suit, creates a new image similar to that of his brothers like how he's looking up to them)
and yet none of it feels like a tacked-on dynamic. it's just their normal personalities bouncing off of each other, which is why it's so perfect. all 3 Spider-Men fit so cleanly into that dynamic that it almost feels like this was always the plan (even though it clearly wasn't).
Kudos to you, Calvin and Rick, for avoiding NWH spoilers until now. Your genuine reactions MADE this video.
I love that even all three Spider-Man’s webbing sounds different. Tobey’s is so distinct and fluid sounding, Garfield’s has that popping deployment sound, and Holland’s is just simpler version of that. Fun little detail.
I am SO glad Charlie got that reaction out of Calvin. He snuck into a premiere night showing with his wife and when he came on screen the theatre didn't react at all :( Calvin giving him the response he deserves 💞

The cinema I was in went mad.
Without a doubt the best thing about this movie for me is the interactions between the characters. The villians off each other, the different Spider-Men. Hell, even Strange's little banter with Ock about magic was great. Unlike Infinity War or Endgame, we had no clue these characters would ever be together in a movie. And it's just so amazing.
It was rumored for like a year before the movie came out so most people new this would happen. Unlike the pops in Endgame or Infinity War which wasn't rumored.

alot of people dont get the ending with him having the new suit , he has the new suit because the old suit doesn't work anymore for him because the suit doesn't know who peter parker is, so the stark technology wont activate for him and with his new suit he is finally becoming spiderman because in these mcu spiderman movies he was really iron boy so the next movies tom Holland wont be iron boy anymore and will become the spiderman

I loved Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but Spider-Man: No Way Home had something special. Growing up with Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and getting to see him come back in this movie and have him kind of be a mentor to Tom Holland was really emotional for me. And then on top of that, having Andrew Garfield talk about losing Gwen, which to this day is one of the saddest deaths, and getting to redeem himself by saving MJ was also very emotional. Then you have Aunt May’s death and how it affected Tom Holland, was just heartbreaking. All three of the Spider-Man’s acting was perfect. I know a lot of this movie was fan service, but it was done very well. Seeing Tom Holland grow into this version of Spider-Man was awesome man. It has easily become my favorite MCU movie and will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I like your take me personally I wouldn't put this movie over those. Aunt May's death didn't hit me because she's always been played as a gimmick in the mcu because she's hot. The only standout fan service that didn't contribute to the plot was Charlie Cox as Peter's lawyer.
I'm fully on the side that Peter is faultless in the spell. First off, he's the kid and Dr. Strange is the adult. Secondly, he doesn't know magic. And the biggest thing, is Strange didn't ask him as many questions as he assumed Peter had apparently asked about his rejection.

On the other hand, once it became clear that he and Peter weren’t totally on the same page, Strange should have stopped and talked out any and all parameters with Peter.

I like the theory that the stark family is the MCU’s Osborne family. Kind of like the Jay Garrick -Henry Allen thing in the flash. Both were head scientists for military contracts and created a suit of armor with flying ability and high tech weapons and serve kinda like a father figure for Peter

When I saw it in theaters, girls cheered when Andrew appeared, men celebrated when Tobey showed up. Glorious stadium crowd moment.

I never noticed this until rewatching at home, but the looks Tom gives his friends warms my heart so much. He's an actor so obviously he'd know how to do this stuff but I just love the looks of love and pride that he gives them throughout the movie. Like when he found out Ned could do magic, or towards the beginning when MJ said she'd be by his side when they were in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
I liked that movie because it was like a big Doctor Who Anniversary episode 😃 (time travels, cracks in reality, previous actors comebacks for the same role)

This was just pure fan service but it fan service done right! Liked how it wasn’t a competition between all the Spider-Men and they genuinely bonded. They managed to pack so much stuff and Andrew definitely stole the show but they still remembered it was Tom Holland’s movie. They respected what came before and used it the help further Tom’s Peter Parker. Now no longer a spider-boy but truly a Spider-Man. I personally related to his Peter Parker the most(for various personal reason I will not go into), but man it REALLY resonated with me on an emotional level. Will also will say seeing this without the theater audience is both weird but also relaxing as I can appreciate all the finer details.
Edit: For example According to the official script of the movie. The old man at the end in the coffee shop is initially meant to invoke a Stan lee cameo. With it outright saying “A Stan lee look alike?” which ties perfectly with MJs feeling of recognizing Peter but not knowing why. Could you image if Stan lived to see this movie?
I understand people who really loved it, the Andrew & Tobey scene + the audience reaction was just magical. But when you honestly the whole plot was really bad and lazy, they made Spider Man a disney princess who wants to make good people out of bad guys.

I saw this movie at a midnight showing in downtown London while studying abroad. Best theater experience I’ve ever had!!!! Over 2k people screaming and cheering over everything major, IMAX, recliner seats, and 450 speakers shaking everything. The Brits seriously love all the Spiders and Daredevil!

I will always love this movie, it will always have a special place in my heart. My dad use to always take me to see movies every sunday and this was the last movie we saw in theaters together before he got sick. He genuinely loved this movie, he passed away last week and I will miss him forever, I'll always love the memories of seeing this in theaters with him.

I love that it's a universal thing that uncle ben or aunt may always tell peter parker the "with great power comes great responsibility" line the day that they die. That line means so much in spiderman lore. Also where Tom Holland's spiderman is at is exactly where he needs to be and should be. He was a kid and now he's Spiderman. Unfortunately he had to lose everything for him to get that lol at least Tobey and Andrew's spiderman got to keep aunt may lol

One of my favourite details is when Otto got blasted out the window, he left because he was worried that he would lose control of his self again (referring back to SM2 where his inhibitor chip got fried by electricity). Him being missing before the final fight makes sense as he had to recover from it and possibly do some contemplating. I have a headcanon that just like the whole of New York, Otto saw the news of what happened back at the apartment, spurring him to go find and help the boy who did so much for him. Also the many instances of him just helping in the final battle just showcases what an innately good dude he is (helping secure and carry Max during the destruction of the statue, coming in clutch with saving Strange and the rest by tanking two of Goblin's bombs). It's great!

My personal theory regarding the memory magic stuff is like how it was in Harry Potter. When Hermione erased her parents’ memories, it also erased evidence of her existence among their belongings like pictures. So we can probably guess that any mention of “Peter Parker” in any document would probably either be erased or replaced with “Spider-Man” as the situation dictates. Seems plausible but idk
that also means Matt representing Peter's case never happened so whenever they meet again, Matt will have no memory of clearing his name or Spider-man's identity

I’ve never seen the Blind Wave crew look so emotional in the seven years I’ve been watching them.
It was really a good choice for Toby to stop him when there was a point Toby's spiderman was going to kill Uncle Ben's killer, but his killer falls to his death on his own.
And when the Goblin threatened to kill Mary Jane near the end of the first Raimi film Peter would have probably beaten him to death if he hadn't revealed his identity as Norman and faked the Norman personality taking back control to try to stab Peter with the glider.
But later it turns out that he wasn't even the killer

I watched this in theatres and its the first movie I've ever been in where the entire theatre clapped multiple times. When Garfield appeared on screen, when Tobey appeared on screen, when Garfield saved MJ and when the movie ended. Meaning Garfield, the least popular Spiderman, got the most claps from my theatre.
The impressive part is that Tobey Maguire is mostly retired from acting. He's been in three projects since 2014, it's been nearly 15 years since his trilogy, and he EFFORTLESSLY slid back into the role. Loved it!
Definitely the best live action Spider-Man movie since Spider-Man 2! I'm glad all of you have now reacted to this movie! It was awesome to see all 3 generations of Spider-Men on the big screen! 😁

Unsure if anyone else has pointed it out, but when Toby and Andrew first shoot their webs at each other, and then flip to avoid it. Toby is able to get to the ground quicker and "get him" because he kicks off the roof mid-flip. The more experienced Spider-Man.
This is the sort of film that no matter what the age, any fan of the comics can be as excited as a kid on Christmas day when seeing such incredible moments brought to the big screen.

I did also really enjoy Toms fight when he’s no longer pulling his punches, that was the moment when he really transformed I feel. Also just boxing fighting style rather than the usual martial art style of fighting was interesting. No circling, no stepping back, just brute strength pushed into relentless punches.
