A GREAT SUMMER STYLE EVENING UP IN THE BORDERS AGAIN. JUST A SHORT WALK UP TO GREEN HUMBLETON. THE REWARD IS 360 VIEWS.
CHILLED OUT THEN GOT THE BEST LIGHT SHOW. AURORA MADE ITS APPEARANCE AND BLEW ME AWAY.
THIS WILL BE A MEMORABLE CAMP FOR ME. IT WAS FANTASTIC.
Wow that aurora! Not at all jealous! Not a lot a room in the phoxx1 is there mate, nice to see a different tent though! 👍
It’s really cramped 😝 I could lose weight of course 😂 but yeah. It was ok. Fine if the weathers good. I bought another tent since. Bit more practical this time.

Go Outdoors always do that. My Rakkoon was labelled as £70 but when I got to the rill they said £130. The sale had finished and they hadnt changed the label. I didnt want to get stroppy so I said I could insist on that price but I knew they could withdraw it from sale, so what could they offer it for. They said £100. I then found it online for £90, so they price matched it. Its happened with other products too. Great camp, thanks for sharing and hope the audit goes well.
Yeah you have to question everything these days. It daft. I usually check online and make them wait while I do it 😂. Audits ongoing. I can’t wait 🤨

Just bought an eletric bike myself and brilliant love it when your of a senior age mate like me and u it's a game changer
I’m of the opinion that if you want to get out but can’t. There are solutions. I still use my normal bike 🚲 but the odd trip on the e-bike is good for the soul. 👍. The video is out Friday.

Lovely little camp that one... I got a deal on my new hilleberg black label with footprint. It cost £1020.00 all in , with next day delivery.. as you know, I had saved up for a long time and sold some other kit (I did nearly but the vern 1, but took your advice). I had the first phox2 ,but hated not being able to sit up .. loved the 5000 hydrostatic head and lack of condensation , but the not sitting up was a deal breaker... got rid of it . Got the bobcat a few yrs later and love that to bits... Take care out there.

I just bought another OEX to try out. I did a short vid. Out next week. The 5000 HH is meaningless you know 😂 soulos only meant to be 3000.

Great video, pitch and tent. I’m a nightmare when I go to outdoors, always look 👀 king for bargains. The last one was the Montane spirit lite jacket I bought. £234 in Gooutdoors , £207 at Outdoor Equipment, so got it for £187.

@@AndyWardle good to know the National Trust hack. I signed up a few weeks ago. Gutted when I camped on Sheffield Pike as I planned on parking at Glencoyne Bay only to find it was no overnight parking, so the National trust membership proved useless on that occasion. 😂

Used to be NAMAS, when I was a lad, then changed to UKAS. In HK we had HOKLAS, and just finished a 3 day audit here in Angeles, Philippines. DPWH, just an excuse for anacronyms. Get nodders.

OEX make some pretty sturdy little tents for the money, Timelaspe was fantastic. I think I'm the only wild camper who completely missed that aurora

I use the exos 58. It’s great. Nice light pack. Plenty space. No rain cover. But I used to have the atmos 65. That’s the daddy like. I used it for years. Still got it. Kestrel range is good too. 👍

I've got the phoxx2 as my first tent for wild camping. It's quiet spacious for 1 but not really suitable for 2. I cam JUST sit up in the phoxx2 but only just.
There was none left otherwise this video would’ve featured the 2. Yeah I’ll keep it for good weather camps only I reckon. 👍

Contemplating a decent 4 man tent. Is it worth spending more on the Soulo or is the Akto good enough? 😊 Can find alot more Akto's for sale at around £400 than any Soulo's.
I’ve not had the akto so dunno. I bought a soulo over one. And I’ve never regretted it. The headroom in the soulo is a winner for me. I’ve seen an akto flattened in the wind too. They spring back up but still. The soulo is in my mind the best 1 man four season tent there is. I take it you meant 4 season.

Are you sure you were in Scotland because there was no rain. Yeah the aurora has been strong down this way as well in the southern sky's. They are worried the flair ups on the sun could take out the power substation transformers. Hey nice little tent by the way bro. Safe travels. Ken.

Evening andy. Green humbleton is a nice easy little walk up isnt it but with stunning views. I've done it a few times if I'm pushed for time. Tent looks canny. Ideal for multi day hiking or beginner campers on a budget. I do like a tent I can sit up in but like you've done if it's a nice night just sit outside. Another canny vid mate. Can't believe you were north of the wall when I was south 😂. I could have waved 😊. Aurora shot was lush. Enjoy ya lads hol. 😊
Mint up there like. Plenty more of those tops to camp on. Yeah. Bikepacking or lightweight multi day. Nee good if it’s raining unless you like being stuck inside unable to cook. Definitely a fine weather tent. Be a Neetmare if it rained. Only for cooking like. Could probably get away with it but you’d be lying on your side. Some of the bait went home with me like. I overdone it 😂. Atb mate 👍

Brilliant camp fella. I think the Oex gear is great being a bobcat owner. In my opinion they are very under rated. Great to see the watch is still going strong.I have a Garmin which is fantastic but recently it's battery is shocking when tracking.How does that one of yours do when tracking? Might look at that option. The nosh looks mint, and that light show was top notch and very magical. Keep up the good work fella. Atb pal
I have a garmin fenix. Battery life with hikes is only about 2 days.
The KOSPET has lasted a full week. I used it 3 times for tracking a couple of bike rides. Thing is it charges up dead fast too. I’m liking it. I’ll use it until I break it. 😂
@@AndyWardle cheers for the prompt reply. I have the vivoactive 3 which is great and syncs to sensors on my bike and also uploads direct to Strava at as like stats. Lol. I was actually looking at cex for a good used fenix but they are around the price of that one of yours. I was looking at a fenix 3 or possibly 5plus. What's your opinion on those.i know you will be honest lol

Another brilliant video. The tent and kit reviews are really good and helpful. After getting hooked on camping videos over the last year or so I'm finally doing my first wildcamp over the Bank Holiday. Can't wait. I'm also in your neck of the woods so these videos are invaluable for ideas.

Did my first solo wildcamp on this one last night. The views from up top are something else. Have to admit the amount of sheep shite stressed me out a bit at first but common sense prevailed and I cleared a pitch with my trowel, if anyone could've seen me flinging bits of poo over the edge..... Cows thoroughly licked my car overnight.
