RIP Anita, Bonnie and June Pointer. I fell in love with the heavenly voices and great music as young 8 year old growing up on Chicago's west side with 'I'm So Excited', 'Jump' and 'Neutron Dance'. I know they were doing their thing long before that early to mid 80s period. But that's when I became aware of them. God bless their souls.
I was born in 1983 and never heard any of their songs but recently was watching loot on Apple TV and on one of the episodes the song Automatic plays a buried memory of my mother dancing and singing to me while she was cleaning the house came to me I called her and she said it was her favourite song when I was born and she played it over n over that's why I remembered it
I have ALWAYS, STILL DO AND FOREVERRRRRRRRR WILL WORSHIP these INCREDIBLY TALENTED, SOULFUL, BEAUTIFUL, LOVING, FUN AND FAAAAANTASTIC SISTAH-WOMEN....THE ONE AND ONLY POINTER SISTERS. ETERNAL BLESSINGS ON ANITA, BONNIE & JUNE'S MEMORIES AND ON RUTHS' BEAUTIFUL SOUL😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤‼
I have always listened to the music of these beautiful ladies. There will never be anyone like them. I adore them. May you rest in peace Anita pointer.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏💫
Rest in paradise,💐Anita Pointer.😢💔 Thank you for your work that helped create our childhood soundtrack.💫🕊️🌹 I’m So Excited is still one of the most amazing and uplifting songs that I’ve ever heard. Thank you so very much! Rest in peace.🌹🕯️
@@markjohnson9485 yep...June was a stunning lady...most attractive african american lady I've even seen images of...I have a goddess of a khmer girlfriend with a perfect figure but in that soul train video where they mime automatic the figure of june in her pink dress is amazing...very rare to see a woman with that shape...my girl has more pronounced...the thin legs and thigh gap...yummy!!!
I'm 40 and when I was young Anita was always my favorite one....it's something about her that I gravitated towards. She just seemed so regal and warm and friendly. I think Anita looks so poise in this interview and I love her hairdo too.
Ruth Pointer and Barry Gibb have very eerie similarities. Both were the oldest siblings with three younger siblings of the same gender also in music. All of the younger siblings died sooner (with the youngest dying the soonest in each case, June and Andy), with the oldest sibling outliving ALL three of the younger siblings. Ironically, the deepest voiced woman and the highest-pitched falsetto man have so many other similarities. Truly eerie, like a yin-yang of sorts. Ruth Pointer and Barry Gibb should do duets, in the form of joint tributes to all the younger siblings that have passed.
Dental work, better hairstyles, and better clothes did wonders for June's looks. Much hotter at 37 than she was at 23, which is incredible when you think about it.
Looks like I"m the only one here who's going to point out Jada Pointer (Anita's Daughter) at 1:30 who's holding the granddaughter. She passed away 2 years before June also due to cancer. RIP.
Jada died 2003 and June in 2006. Sarah Pointer died 2000. It was a string of deaths for the Pointer family of their loved ones, unfortunately. It took its toll on Anita as she wrote in her new book Fairytale! Baby Roxie was who kept her going. She now plays a prominent roll in her grandmother's and aunt Bonnie's life. God bless them! Miss June:-(
@Iceman 23 Can you believe it? And suddenly too! They were able to say their goodbyes to June, but sadly, not to Bonnie. With Ruth living in Boston area and June gone, Anita and Bonnie had gotten very close, they were each other's best friend and they had just recorded that beautiful song, "Feels Like June" as a tribute to June. Therefore, I am feeling sad for Anita, knowing that another loved one has been snatched from her again.:-(
@@orane3549 I was taking her brother's (Fritz) summer school English course when Jada passed. He missed the first 2 weeks of class for Bereavement. Before that, it didn't even hit me his sisters were...just didn't put 2 and 2 together.
@@adriennerobinson1180 Yep! It's almost two years now since Bonnie died suddenly. It sent shock waves through every Pointer Sister fan. The original PS group is now down to two sisters from four. Very sad!! I was really hoping to see Ruth Anita and Bonnie go on one last mini tour together, but I will just have to fantasize watching that concert which will never happen. 🙄
Sadako is shown a lot now that she is a part of the current Pointer Sisters act. It's Onika who is never shown or mentioned. I read Onika's book, it's a little hard to read, but it's a good book.

YES ! like a love to say : born in 1977 i'm happy and lucky to know what was the lovely 80s era ^^
Grettings from Belgium :)
I love the Pointer sisters....and Arsenio was the greatest. I wish he still had a talk show....we need some
talented people on TV today.
I agree. Television is now a drag and if there is something worth watching, they talk about streaming. Huh???
They hate real deal nowadays.
June pointer was a Goddess.
I loved this era for the Pointer Sisters.
Ruth's amazing tenor/baritone is giving me my entire life ❤
Absolutely! Officially, it's a contralto. Her's is AMAZING
Love them one of the best female
groups out there.
THE POINTER SISTERS.
I still jam to these babes.
Grandmothers and they LOOK more classy than 20 somethings...stunning!!!
Rest in Power beautiful sisters of soul!😪
To think June was suffering from addiction and a terrible husband at this time is so heartbreaking she really never knew peace, rip queen🕊
Ruth also had an addiction. Not sure if it was around this time though

Great times!
I remember seeing the Pointer Sisters at the Boarding House on Bush Street, in San Francisco 1975.
Prior to the passings of Anita(1948-2022), Bonnie(1950-2020), & June(1953-2006) there should've been a reunion with all four of them

Funny how the Pointer Sisters are taking over Arsenio interview 😂😂😂😂😂
