Both of my parents are in military. So we were first in virgina then went to japan. Now we just came back. Its taking so long for our stuff to get here.

I’m anxious for my husband to get his PCS orders. Currently in JAX, FL & we had 5 slots to choose from. He chose mostly San Diego, and one VA . Waiting this 30 days is going to be nerve racking. We have a 4 year old and a 6 month old. So I know this process is about to be fun but stressful! Thank you for all your insights and information!!

Any tips for moving out and moving things before going to bootcamp and a school?
Honestly before going to bootcamp I packed everything I wanted into huge big boxes, and once I actual out got to my final duty station I had my mom ship those boxes to me and I just gave her money for the shipping cost cause it was pricey lol the boxes were heavy
I’m suppose to be leaving Norfolk to go to Jacksonville and it’s so stressful. This is my first big move and because of Covid everyone has been slacking . So it’s been hard then my apartment place has been giving me trouble moving out 😭
I work in a student command where all our students are there as in I-stop. Sadly, the whole Covid situation has made things very chaotic and confusing. Rules and policies are constantly changing and in many cases flat out wrong information is put out and in other cases there are people who are supposed to the the SMEs but have no clue. Best advice I can give is just be flexible and roll with it. Make sure you have money set aside because you my be told erroneous info as to your travel entitlement and how to obtain it which could result in paving for something that is not refundable.
Hi Zenez ! I have a question and any other active duty member could answer . Would you recommend getting roommates to live off the ship as an E3 or is sticking it out on the ship a better option ?
Stick it out ! Don’t put yourself in a bind to pay rent if you not getting BAH .
What Zenez said but these days on most bases, there will be either BEQ rooms available or in some cases privatized on base housing (like The Pacific Beacon in San Diego). Unlike the old days, most shipboarrd E-3 and below do not literally have to live onboard the ship.
You ever thought about majoring in Business Administration or Business Management? You said you enjoy business and entrepreneurship. I earned an Associate's in Business Admin. years ago but it wasn't my major in school though. You could probably breeze through it since its something that interests you
Yeah I could, I’m still kinda undecided when it comes to what degree I actually wanna get. Although school is free through the navy I wanna make sure my degree can actually benefit what my goals are. Business management definitely sounds up my alley

What about the lease for your apartment or wherever u are renting?
How do you go about having a vehicle in the military? Is it worth the money to ship it or do you sell it before you move? Is it pointless to even have a vehicle?because If you're being sent overseas and you may not know if you'll be even returning to the same base. It just seems like owning a vehicle in the military comes with alot of stress and worries.
Actually owning a vehicle in the military has no stress or worries lol. Just cause your going out to sea doesn’t mean your going overseas. You only go overseas when your deployed and during that time they have a lot of resources for long term parking or you can just take your car to a family members home for the 7 months your gone. But trust me having a car in the military is essential
