In this video I show the true side of green iguanas. I show you how gloves can be used to prevent an iguana attack. Iguanas however, are beautiful, they just require special needs.

I recommend hand feeding its a great way to make them trust you...I tried the whole forceful removal from the cage thing and made no progress taming mine. Once I started hand feeding him daily(cautiously) he was almost fully tame within 4 months. He's 14 now ...doesn't even flinch when I approach him, he even shuts his eyes before I even pet him.
Thank you I needed some motivation to pick up mines. I have picked up mine three times but after watching them tail whip and all the bad rumors about them it kind of shocked me and kind of make me scared to pick her up but she’s pretty calm after I pick her up she just be all crazy and stuff😂
I have a male he bites and whip his tail but chill out once he’s in a warm bath tub or in my arms .
My iguana is the same way!! It's a struggle to get her out, but she is really calm wants she is out. Love my Blue iguana 💙

Im telling you man its just an age thing, once they hit a certain stage in life they stop all of it and become great pets, that first 2 years can be hell.... Some are great tho
Agreed some are great. This is 5 and I’ve only had one that was great. Still love them, but they can be a pain in the butt. This is the best whipper I’ve had however haha
2:45: Oh dear god. It hates you. Mine would come to me. Pater trained. Yard trained. Would sit on my back while I bicycled around town. Once in a park, one jumped of my shoulder and ran into the trees . Thought it ran away. it fled to the shade and waited until I came to it. It had over heated in the hot sun.

im assuming they will run away if you dont hold them? iguanas are cool animals. for the most part theyre fairly docile.

Lol well the leash I bought him he will not let me put it on him. But I've took him outside but he scares me that he will jump and be gone.
I wish you could see my iguana you may know close to his or her age. I bought it from a friend and they couldn't really tell me then I called Petcov and ask them and they really didn't know as well. They said they only order them for people and that's all they really do. So I'm really stuck on his or her age and of course they didnt even know if it's a male or female. So all I can do is wait till it gets full grown then I could know if it's a male or female.
What makes it keep tail whipping when they know that you are not going to hurt them. I'm so thinking about getting rid of mine cause it makes me so mad and today she started to run and bite me but I said no way I picked up the tree and said no way you are ñot biting me
Sometimes it just takes a lot of patience. And sometimes that won’t work either. But that seems to be the case with iguanas. You just never know what you’re going to get. But it’s usually not what you’re doing wrong
Oh by the way I got a 75 gallon aquarium would you think that will be good for a while. I really think he's around 2 feet or so. But it won't affect his growing will it.

Where did you get them . Love the gloves . I think it's being mean but it's like you said it's what they know and solitary like my hedgehogs. Some are AWESOME some wanna be left ALONE. I watch their mannerisms they let me know what they want !

How many times do I feed my green Iguana a day
You feed them everyday. I spray mine down everyday, but that’s because she’s not in an ideal cage to hold humidity. Other then that she gets a bath about 2-3 times a week. Those gloves will def help if it did decide to bite. They are awesome gloves.

I would guess 3-5years old. She was super skinny and in terrible conditions when I got her, so not really sure how she would be if she hadn’t been like that.

Hey bro I have a question. I heard that you said they need to go outside but it's to cold to take him out. Would he be ok even if he don't go outside? I would think that when it gets in the 80s I will take him out. I bought a leash for him so he don't run off cuz he would in a heart beat
My temp is 65-70. And a leash on an iguana scares me. So I would at some point invest in something that can be an outside cage

They can reach like 6 feet
I have a male that’s not quiet that big yet but he’s great out side of actually getting him out the cage lol he will open his mouth like he wants to bite but close it soon as you put your hand or finger in front of him so think he just wants to look mean and scary lol. Hasn’t bitten us yet but I’m sure it’s coming .

Its probably due to them not having as good of vision so they don't run away so fast when babies so they get used to being handled faster.... However i dont think any reptile actually enjoys being handled, but some genuinely like being pet and scratched
They will grow to tolerate you always tho, just time and patients, your doing great tho
