Great video! As an owner of one of these amazing animals (a nearly full-grown 8 year old male), I found the assessment accurate and thoughtful. Although a lot of work, these are some of the best guys ever. Thank you for the info. Can you do a video of your large lizard? I would like to see a “ non professional “ owner and what it’s like owning a large lizard on an every day basis.
About 25 years ago, I worked at a pet store that had a full grown male. He shredded two of my fingers when I was taking the water bowl out of his cage. He bit down so hard that his teeth went through my fingernails. It took about 15 years for the scars to finally fade. There were even scars under my nails! But there was blood everywhere, even splattered on the glass of the tank he was in. I left a blood trail from his cage to the bathroom (about 50 feet), I also got extremely ill within 24 hours (salmonella). I handle large lizards regularly, but these guys scare the hell out of me.
Oh I loved their little face! Those claws are already impressive and then the talking about teeth... I will appreciate them from a distance, thank you, but definitely beautiful!
