My Rhino Iguana Tank approves of this message. Something to add. They go through an aggressive phase during adolescence which was the only time that I was ever bitten. That was not an insignificant bite either even as an adolescent.

My wife and her sister grew up with a pair of adult green iguanas. There father said that they were very protective of his daughters especially if they started crying.
Apparently he couldn't even get close without getting tail whipped if they were crying.
So I figured I'd share that tidbit since we were on the iguana topic.

Probably because he's chill. And from what I've seen with green iguanas, they love scrabbling all over. Basically like petting a chill German Shepherd. He feels comfortable around it, but still understands that if the iguana feels threatened, it can still do damage

Great video! As an owner of one of these amazing animals (a nearly full-grown 8 year old male), I found the assessment accurate and thoughtful. Although a lot of work, these are some of the best guys ever. Contrary to what you say in the video, you CAN stumble across these guys at an expo, not realizing what you're committing to- thankfully for me, it was one of the best decisions of my life.

About 25 years ago, I worked at a pet store that had a full grown male. He shredded two of my fingers when I was taking the water bowl out of his cage. He bit down so hard that his teeth went through my fingernails. It took about 15 years for the scars to finally fade. There were even scars under my nails! But there was blood everywhere, even splattered on the glass of the tank he was in. I left a blood trail from his cage to the bathroom (about 50 feet), I also got extremely ill within 24 hours (salmonella). I handle large lizards regularly, but these guys scare the hell out of me.

Definitely my dream animal. Once my son is older, and we have the space for both an indoor and outdoor enclosure, preparation will begin.

As soon as i got this notification, i was like "no". Just like with the Savannah monitor and normal iguana when you let it be known how you felt i got flash backs of you saying "highly do NOT recommend" hahah but i do love the rhinos and red iguanas

Hi Clint. I have a very good idea for you, and that is to make a video comparing the green iguana with the Rhino iguana. There are 3 very good reasons to do so. 1. They are both iguanas by name and have very similar abilities. 2. Their diets are very similar and they both need similarly sized inclosures with only a couple of thing differing between them. 3. They both recieved the exact same score of (2.6 out of 5) for only slightly different reasons. If you haven't already done it, they why not give that a go.

You spoke about the list of large lizards that you would recommend.
Could you do a Top 5-10 list on that? I know from following your channel long enough that the B&W Argentine Tegu tops that list, but I'd be interested in seeing some cool alternatives or what you might recommend that I might not see on other lists.

I love your videos! I’ve watched almost all of them. Would you be able to do one about Brazilian Rainbow Boas? Or a head yo head between Ackies and Blue Tongues? And Ackies and Lacertas? I’m considering getting a new reptile at some point and I have owned Bearded dragons and corn snakes before. You are awesome.

I liked the video a lot but I do have to disagree on one point. You don't really need a giant water bowl for them to soak in. What a lot of cyclura owners do is give them a bath in the bath tub and that work great since you can control the temperature, it can be part of the taming process, and you can also drain it and fill it back up very easily! Or if you don't have a bathtub, you can just fill up a plastic tub and soak them in there. When are you going to do a video on the lewisi hybrids? From what I have seen from owning one, working for a breeder, and being part of a facebook group for them, the rhinos seem to be a bit more aggressive and likely to bite than the lewisi hyrbids and I personally think they don't make as good pets as either the lewisi hybrids or the cuban iguanas. I would love to hear your thoughts.
