    In this episode Anthony Ruggiano Jr. covers more people he knew from the life and answers members questions. NEW YORK (AP) _ Authorities say a barber shot by three masked men who burst into his shop had ties to organized crime. Thursday’s attack was the fourth mob-style killing in the city in a week, and the second time in two days that a barber was shot.
    The victim, 37-year-old Vito Scaglione, was suspected of being involved in narcotics trafficking, The New York Times reported.
    John Gotti, the alleged head of the Gambino crime family, was frequently a customer at the Father and Son’s Haircutters shop, in the Ozone Park section of Queens, during the early 1980s, said Lt. Remo Franceschini, an organized- crime expert at the district attorney’s office.
    Gotti was not linked to the shooting, police said.
    The shooting recalled one of the most famous of all Mafia murders, the Oct. 15, 1957, shooting of Gambino crime family boss Albert Anastasia. Anastasia was reclining in a barber chair at the Park-Sheraton Hotel awaiting a shave when he was shot by two men who had covered their faces with scarves.
    In Thursday’s slaying, the victim was sitting in his barber’s chair watching television when the three gunmen entered the shop and shot him 10 times in the back of the head and neck, according to Deputy Chief Joseph Borelli, the commander of Queens detectives. Scaglione was dead at the scene.
    The three men fled to a waiting vehicle and drove away, Borelli said.
    On Sept. 3, two reputed Mafia members were shot to death. On Sunday, a man wanted on drug charges in New York and Italy was found shot in the chest and head, a loaded .22-caliber pistol stuffed in his boot.
    At about midnight Tuesday, a man who owned a Greenwich Village barbershop was shot in the neck and seriously wounded as he slept in his Queens home. Investigators were still trying to determine whether the shooting of Amedeo Azzaro, co-owner of the Top Men Hair Stylist shop, was connected to organized crime, police said.

    Hey Anthony,
    I know that Jimmy Burke lived about a five minute walk from Cafe Liberty… and that Father and Son Barber Shop was about a five minute walk from Burke’s home, in the other direction. You had mentioned EVERYONE got their haircuts at Father and Sons Barber Shop, including Gotti Sr and Angelo. My question is: Did Jimmy Burke get his haircuts at Father and Son Barber Shop? In other words, did Tito Scaglione (The Barber) actually know Jimmy Burke? Prior to the 1987 killing, did Frankie Burke get his haircuts at Tito The Barber’s Father and Son Shop?
    I know Frank The Barber (Tito’s brother) shot and killed a bartender in 1981 and went on the lam for years.
    Great job. This is my second time watching this episode. It’s that good. Informative. Thanks.

    That was a fantastic interview..... Great questions. Respect for putting yourself out there and helping people with addiction issues. Currently going through it with Oxycodone which im prescribed by a doctor for pain issues through multiple major surgeries. I hate being beholden to oxycodone. Ive had times when ive missed my dose and fuck me its brutal. Ive had cocaine and amphetamine issues and got through that which was real hard but nothing compared to oxycodone withdrawel. ANYWAY... Much respect for anybody involved in addiction recovery...

    • @dougdigiacomo3613
      @dougdigiacomo3613 Рік тому +2

      Been through that personally while going through physical therapy after surgeries as well. When you finally get past it and put them in your rear view mirror you’ll never feel as good and finally free from its dependence. Hope you can get through it. I’m 3 years clean and my life has never been so good.

    • @edwardcapobianco2975
      @edwardcapobianco2975 Рік тому +3

      Take it from me, oxycodone is a bitch and a half. I had a doctor in Tampa back in the day. He was writing me 1200 oxy 30s per month. It went on for years and years before he got shut down. Getting off those are bad news, especially when you're doing 10-20 per day.

    • @phoenixmodellingphotography
      @phoenixmodellingphotography Рік тому

      @@edwardcapobianco2975 Just curiously, what was the general frame of time that your doctor was prescribing these to you? Or even specific years? That seems so crazy now in hindsight with how much more we know about oxy's damaging and addicting nature, but I know it wasn't unusual at all around the 90's/2000's

    • @edwardcapobianco2975
      @edwardcapobianco2975 Рік тому

      @Trent Gray in 2002 ,I was getting 180 30 mg oxycodone (blues) and 60 opana 30 mg ER per month. By 2004 I switched to Dr. Rew who started me on 600 oxycodone 30 mg(blue) and 360 opana 30 mg ER per month. Within 3 months I was getting 1200 oxycodone 30 mg (blues) and 360 opana ER per month. After 7 years or so Dr. REW GOT busted. So I went back to my old doctor who weaned me down to 800 oxycodone 30mg(blues) per month, no opana. Once the shit hit the fan in Florida I was reduced to 180 30 mg oxycodones per month. Then down to 120 8mg dilaudid per month. Street price went from $7 ea on the oxy 30mg to $30-35 each for one oxycodone 30 mg. It was quite a ride getting 40 oxy 30s per day . Now the massively reduced availability on legitimate pharmaceutical drugs has opened up a huge fentanyl market!! Especially when oxys are $30-35 each. Prohibition doesn't work, there is still a huge demand but people can't afford the $35 ea. Per pill. So the Chinese and Mexicans have cornered the market and made millions of $. The DEA knew that choking off the excess street supply on real pharmaceuticals would sky rocket the price, cause widespread withdrawal and criminal behavior by addicts and inevitably would lead to chinese fentanyl filling the demand from a drug addicted country. If history taught us anything, it shows that prohibition doesn't work and enriches organized crime and drug cartels. It kills the customers and causes massive crime waves and violence!! The solution is far worse than the problem ever was. At least with legitimate oxycodone 30mg pills you are getting exactly what you paid for 100%. The chances of overdosing and death is so much less compared to bootleg fentanyl pills cause you don't know what your getting from one batch to the next!!! The government knew it then and they know it now. Did anyone quit drinking booze during prohibition of the 1920s and 30s?? Did they quit heroin during the 50s and 60s? Or cocaine and Crack during the 70s and 80s??? The war on drugs is a lost cause, a failure,a farce and a crock of s#@!!!!
