White jeans don't elevate my outfit when I inevitably spill on them. 😅 But I love them on people who are less accident-prone than me. 😂 Great tips, as always!
@@MarieAnneLecoeurThose are for little stains. It doesn't work that well when you sit in a puddle of Pepsi that someone spilled on the seat or have hot coffee poured on your lap by a flight attendant. I've had both happen to me. I stick to dark colors now when I leave the house. 🤷♀️
Tide stain pen to the rescue! I don't know how many times that pen saved my white jeans!
😂😂😂 I love white clothes, especially in the summer heat, but I have learnt the hard way that sitting on public transport in white pants is a bad idea 😞. This happened to me the last time I was in London and to make matters worse I tore the only black pants I had with me on that trip 😱🤦
Oxy clean for whites is great and no bleach!
I was afraid of white jeans. Since few years I have a few. It is actually easier to wash than blue jeans. If there is a spot, I can remove it more easily than on blue or any other color jeans.
Yes!! The white jeans are perfect!! You’re absolutely correct! (The blue jeans are okay for pulling weeds in the garden, or washing the dog.) No tee shirts!

@@georgewagner7787 me too, probably 😊. Also because I'm overweight at the moment I don't think white jeans would suit me as they suit Marie-Anne. But I'm hoping to loose the extra weight at some point and if I do, I will definitely reward myself with white jeans.

I always love the striped shirt with jeans. No matter the shoes, I love all those looks. So classic and timeless. Easy to dress up or down, too.
I love the long skirts for something different, and the sweater is gorgeous!
You aways look elegant and so very French. Just love everything you wear and your very welcome advice you share. The French Red lipstick and the very minimum makeup looks stunning. I am a big fan of KITTEN HEEL shoes for elevating even the most casual ensembles, without sacrificing comfort. Flats are lovely, don't get me wrong, but providing just the tiniest bit of elevation somehow (for me anyway) changes the whole silhouette. I've somewhat muscular calves, and have always been a bit self conscious about wearing chunky heels--maybe it's all 'in my head'....lol but find I feel my most confident and 'put together' in kitten heels. :)

I love seeing how the white jeans elevated the pink floral blouse. Amazing how white jeans are more elegant than blue. Some florals really do look better with white trousers. Jeans and darker trousers would deaden the outfit.

I love all your elevations… for the all white outfit for evenings, I’d add a tan suede jacket and a leather belt. Daytime and warmer weather… a bright scarf and a hat!

It is good for everyone to know that this involves being open to trying new things on together, and seeing what it looks like in the mirror. It i's okay if it doesn't work, just try something else. Have fun with it! The more you do it, the easier it will become.
Agree wholeheartedly @Jen7867! Marie-Anne's advice to 1) get a full-length mirror and 2) try multiple combinations of outfits together to see what works and what doesn't have been real game-changers for me. I spend so much less time dithering in the mornings trying to decide what to wear now.

Great tips Marie Anne ❤ First outfit probably is my favourite but love also white outfit with chambre shirt and hat. Funny, I liked to knot my shirts in my 20s. Gloomy Soviet Union and I always looked dressed very in Western (I mean free Western countries) style.
I also have good observation skills, and when I started to travel abroad (Berlin Wall was fallen), I noticed that the most important thing is to have great quality shoes and handbag. Back then, I had a wonderful tailor (shops were almost empty) so I always had unique clothing as well.
One tip what I learnt from my friend and designer in my home country, Latvia 🇱🇻 is : play with accessories! Accessories, like scarves, hats, jewellery, interesting shoes, and so on, can elevate any outfit, which seems boring or too plain.
Though I am quite minimalist with outfits and pay great attention to materials and quality now. And that's also your advice, Marie Anne - French women mantra. I am not French by passport but deep down in my heart, I feel like French. 😄
Sometimes Australians ask me - are you French? Nope, I am not 😂 Atm learning French language in my pace, watching a lot of French movies and my favourite French writer is Marguerite Duras ❤
P.S. And it's your fault 😅 that lately I bought white high quality pants and 2 extremely expensive extra fine merino jumpers - beige and white. All on great sale but still expensive 😞
I would add a pop of color to the white outfit. For me it would be red. What great ideas for taking the same look from day to night ❤ I love hats! So glad you included it with the upgrade. As always love the tips.

Great video, Marie-Anne. I think for the all white outfit I would have added a red/white scarf or a navy and white striped jacket type cardigan. For the very smart outfit at the end I would have added a delicate gold necklace. I LOVE the Chanel type ballet flats. I've bought myself some navy ones recently and they're very versatile.
I was also thinking a red and white scarf would be great for that outfit.

These tips are great if you like to travel light. Can get several outfits out of very few items.

For me, wearing all one colour, or else a column of one colour wi5h a contrasting top layer, is much better than a contrasting top and bottom. And always, sunglasses and a bright lip!
Loved the white jeans in number 1. The satin skirt really finished the outfit in #2. Love the chambray shirt tied in #3. Love the tuxedo jacket with the lace top! I’m known for my jewelry, so I would have added a necklace of some sort.
With that jacket I was thinking some clip on flower earrings, something very feminine (Ava Gardiner)

Thank you for these ideas. I love to use scarves to change the look of my outfit - especially when I’m traveling. I was in Paris for two months - just returned! - and I used different scarves to change the look of my outfits. (I only had five outfits to last for eight weeks, so I needed to get creative with my shoes and other accessories!)

Haha I knew you wouldn't be able to resist replacing that jean skirt, Marie-Anne, and the satin skirt is absolutely gorgeous on you! It's interesting how relative "dressy" standards are, however. You may find it hard to imagine but in Vancouver, (the birthplace of Lululemon, consistently voted worst-dressed city in Canada, sigh...) your original jean skirt outfit would be considered really dressy with no need to upgrade 🙂. I thought both outfits were lovely - but perhaps the jean version more so for a day event??

I love these ideas but I will be honest I have a lot of beautiful clothes and still struggle to put outfits together , I’m going to try to pull some pieces together to form everyday outfits that can be upgraded , I’m menopausal and my weight is my problem it fluctuates so much and hot flashes , so I grab a piece that was fine last week and this week no way , spring is hard cause it’s cold and hot , your outfits kinda would need a jacket or a sweater that’s when I’m really stumped . Also I’m a petite apple so that ads to my challenge . Thank you for inspiring me to keep trying and to not give up .
