One thing I do find though most BJJ folks don't know how to KEEP someone on that ground, if you know how to stand up you can just get away. Where wrestlers are trained to hold people on the ground. So a mixture really is needed.
Correction: No-gi BJJ (or more properly "submission grappling") is the actual answer, with Gracie JJ being a close second. Modern gi-based BJJ is all about butt scooting, 30 variations of lapel chokes, and stalling. Throw in some kick boxing so you are at least somewhat familiar with being punched and kicked, too. Modern BJJ is hilariously deficient in defending against even the most basic of strikes.
