My grandparents moved to Santana Blocc in 1984 when Parcc Village got torn down. Right on Tucker street so I'm familiar with some of these people mentioned even though I was a little kid.. It was a Bank off Long Beach Blvd and Tucker called Lloyds Bank and we would play baseballl in the parking lot. I remember Turtle struck out and was still trying to bat and they told him it's 3 strikes in baseball and he said " this ain't baseball it's Lloyd's Bank Ball" LMAOOOOO

We had guys like that here back in the day. You was a single mom/dad or both parents but lots of kids or old...power might go off for a few hours until he leave the block but they would show somebody how and you would be right back on. Then when you pay you go back and cut them off for buddy to come cut them back on. Now days they cut off remotely from downtown.....can't nobody help you goodolddayz

My Dad use to be Electric meter reader and he had to turn off lights/electricity at some homes that couldn’t pay their bill and he told me how dangerous some customers got when he was turning their lights off. They would sometimes sic their dog on him, and he hit a dog one time with a blackjack he was carrying and broke the dog jaw. It can be a hazardous job and to be honest any job that requires you to deal with the public.
