Maybe I missed it, but what was loosened on the cross-slide to allow it to follow the taper attachment rail?

nothing, when cutting parallel diameters the taper attachment is unclamped to the bed so it travels with the saddle, when using taper attachment to turn a taper you clamp the taper attachment (in the right place) to the bed, its one pivot bolt, you can see the bolt in question at 58 seconds into the video

@@crozwayne If I remember right there was a set-screw or something on top of the cross-slide pivot. You had to loosen that.

What make/model is that collet chuck you are using? Looks interesting.

Audio is very muddy! Hard to understand as it lacks crispness. I was very interested in the topic and especially in how the DRO was mounted when a taper attachment is also mounted to the lathe. I was also trying to see if the back splash had to be modified for the attachment but could not see the attachment points for it to see if it had been modified.

Clean and oil that machine before putting on you tube,, care of the equipment should be the first thing taught
