Hey! Future Tiptoe here. Thanks for checking out these videos! If you'd like to keep up on UA-cam Community info, I'll be posting extra bits of info here in the future: ua-cam.com/users/TiptoeTheTankcommunity As of this post, this is a relatively young channel. I've only really been around since the end of 2020. I hope to be around for the foreseeable future; I'm excited to watch this little passion project grow. More info and content will come with time! Thank you for being here so early in the game. PEACE! -Tip
I love your work. I watched your Prey video and went down the rabbit hole on your lore runs (great job with Legacy of Kain...I loved that series and it is a mind-bender). I recommend you check out an old PS2 game called Primal sometime. It had a great voice cast (the woman who played Callisto on the old Xena show as the main character, and Andreas Katsulas (who played G'Kar on Babylon 5) as her Gargoyle helper. It's just an incredible game and you can play it over and over and immerse yourself in the lore. That being said, I think Vincent is alluding to the fact that to Heather, they are monsters. To Claudia, these beings are angels, and Vincent sees something else. Silent Hill shows you what you need to see or face. That's why James in SH2 sees monsters based on his sin, and why Angela sees the entire town on fire. Silent Hill creates monsters...let's just call them boggarts a la The Wizarding World...based on what you bring in with you.
He'd already grieved his wife's death & now was expected to raise a baby ALONE while grieving his daughters death? This was a storyline that tore your heart out!
SH3 is perhaps my favourite of the initial trilogy (I know, I know, 2 IS brilliant, but something about 3 tilts the scales that little bit more) and I love Heather. Awesome vid once again.
I love that god looks unfinished, since the ritual was botched many times, first by Travis in origins, then by harry in og silent hill, and now with heather
While Silent Hill 3 has its fair share of good spooks, the Stanley Coleman bit, in my opinion, was by far the most frightening. Honestly, I think it's one of the most brilliant executions of horror and dread in a video game. The entire time, you're expecting him to jump out and attack, especially because his patient file says that he can turn violent when he becomes obsessively fixated on a woman. And yet...he never shows up. It just leaves you in a constant state of tension and anxiety, wondering when he's going to jump out and try to snatch Heather and do god knows what. Something I've noticed that seems pretty unique to the 3rd game is the presence of a fear of predators. Apart from Stanley another example is the ghost(?) on the subway platform. The cutscene only gets triggered if you read a particular news article about a man dying on the platform and a book about the occult. When the scene happens, it shows a first person perspective of someone (or something) creeping up behind Heather, breathing heavily like a pervert or something. Then there's also the happy birthday phone call which always seemed weirdly lascivious to me (like an obscene phone call). I don't think it's a coincidence that the only Silent Hill game with a female protagonist features a prominent theme of fearing predators and stalking. I like that they put that kind of thought into their writing.
Currently binge-watching this series and loving it so much, there's a lot covered that I haven't even realized over time. Although I have to say, I've always thought it was kind of still Alessa's otherworld coming through Heather as a reincarnation fueled by the power of God inside her.
I've heard plenty of reviews of this game by now but the way you tell the story here is just so colorful and captivating. You made this so, so interwsting and even though I know the story of this game by heart, listening to your vid made me feel as if I'm experiencing it anew. It's probably bc you don't only tell the full story but put some extra dialogue and personal thoughts through out this. So I just wanted to say - amazing work and thanks for making me experience SH3 story in a different manner❤
I'm so happy you take Vincent for task for being a self-satisfied creep. So many people try to forgive him as being the "nice" alternative to Claudia, but he's still just kind of a jerk in it for himself and willing to ruin some lives if it mean he can make a few bucks on the side.
No one ever talks about why heather looks back. The developers said she’s actually hearing a baby crying!! But I can’t remember the reason why they cut it
I think it was because she was supposed to hear the reincarnated god kinda like how it went with Heather. They cut it though because they just wanted the story to be over I believe? I could be wrong though.
I loved the Silent hill series growing up as a kid, the atmosphere captivated me, all the fog and eerie atmosphere, having the rely on your radio to tell you if creatures are in proximity and when the static started it would freeze me on the spot, then to fnd out the creatures are manifestations of all the hardships/pain you have had in your life blew my mind.. The mutant screaching babies, Pyramid head and more so the busty masked nurses, Ill admit at 8 years old it was the first time i got attracted to a in game character especially one that would attack me lol even had a massive poster of them on my wall much to my mothers disgust lmao I need to dust off the ps1/2 and go back to have a nostalgia trip, because despite playing them all only 1/2 stick out in my mind.
This was my first Silent Hill experience, and will always be my favorite in the series. I can't help but think of this game when I listen to the Deftones :p
I dunno what was the magic of the algorithm that brought me to your walter sulivan lore study but Im glad it happened, you hooked me up with your style, character study and narrative. Subscribed.
I love these, binged all the Silent Hill ones. Can you do Shattered Memories? It doesn't really fit the team silent lore but its a good game by it self
this is one of those stories you enjoy and feel sorry for Cheryl because of what happened to her father I understand he wanted his daughter to be safe from an evil cult sacrificing life to gain power . Claudia is proof on how bad a certain organization can be when any group has become obsessed with gaming power one or more would stand up and fight it those not willing to obey systems that are bad .
I honestly don't think Vincent was lying when he said "The look like monsters to you?", he looked legitimately shocked and was quick to brush it off because he thought pressing the issue wouldn't do him any good
Sorry to break it to you but no one leaves behind Silent Hill... no one leaves... at the very end they were still inside the darkness. You see inside the "other world" (the kind of purgatory foggy world) during the day you see the fog, during the night it's just a pitch black darkness, on both one constant remains no other living beings are found, only monsters. They were at a clearly black pitch darkness, that was a cinematic cutscene at the end, so no hardware limitations made the drawing distance so close, not showing the background was intentional to make clear the point that they are still inside the other world... this kind of ending is the "there's no way out ending" like Evil Dead's ending. It's a Lovecraftian thing, eternal torture awaits to those who have seen that which dwells behind, hidden in plain sight
Im new to Silent hill but so far i prefer Silent hill 3 over 2. The occult, mythological themes are more appealing to me than the emotional, psychological ones of 2.
Thank you for letting me witness these stories whithout really going through them. And thank you for sparing me the cost of buying a PS1, 2, 3, 4, 5,... just for playing some PS-exclusives.
Silent Hill never truly lets go of its own. The repercussions of that are on full display in Silent Hill: Homecoming, which is a game admittedly not as good mechanics-wise as its predecessors, but rich in some of the series’s best lore, symbolism, and monster designs. Plus the soundtrack, and the Scarlet boss fight! The allure of the Order runs deep, and its reach is both long and patient. As someone who loves the lore in horror games, I cannot recommend Homecoming enough. It is not a continuation of Alessa’s story, no-this is a much older tale, a promise and a threat simultaneously fulfilled and denied. The sins of the fathers and mothers fall upon their children to bear. I realize it has been awhile, but Silent Hill surely awaits your return.
Oh man, you truly have the gift of storytelling! I love and binge your lore videos all the time, borderline obsessed at this point. 😅 You need to do lore video of Eternal Darkness, that would be amazing. 🫶
Appreciate the kind words. I put Eternal Darkness on her first ever Halloween to-stream list several years ago, but she wasn't able to get around to it. One of these days I'll get her to at least play it a bit.
SH3 has without a doubt the best characters of any SH game. None of the others come close to their level of detail, themes, depth and agency/impact in the story they are part of. As for the nightmare - the best way to think about it is through a metaphor. The demon god is the cause of the nightmare, like a light projector, and Alessa/Heather is the lens through which this light is bent - hence why in the nightmare world of 1 and 3 we see elements of her past reflected in the nightmare, and why the nightmares in these two games are similar, while in the others they are different (as well as why it was possible for the nightmare to appear in the beginning of 3 - away from the town of SH). 2 and 4 run under their own logic about the nightmare. I think a big mistake many people make is trying to fit the logic of all games into one coherent whole. Team Silent were heavily influenced by magical realism and surrealist works, and initially didn't plan for sequels and a whole series. The games are logically consistent within themselves (with the exception of 1 and 3 which are directly connected so they are consistent between them to a far greater extent). 3 doesn't need anything from 2 in order to fit perfectly with 1, just like you don't need to have played 1 in order to perfectly understand 2 (actually playing 1 might hurt your enjoyment because of the retcons). Bottom line is, outside of 1 and 3, it's best to approach the other games as if they are standalone and not part of a series, or a series like Final Fantasy where none of the different numbered entries are connected, even though they share many elements between them. Going for trying to fit everything together just gets everyone arguing and casts the games in a worse light (since they make progressively less sense when you have to fit them together with each newer game), while they are very internally consistent on their own.
13:23 I’m too busy looking at how dirty the floors and walls are I think I need a shower just from looking at it, I can feel her feet sticking to the floor. Oh nvm it’s not just the toilets.
29:22 if I was in her place and that was my mum silent hill would be a child’s playground compared to the horrors ied be about to unleash, and no way would she be aloud to just walk away from that rooftop.

did anyonw ever ask where harry keeps findin these babies? u think by the second one they be suspicious. he might been behind the Lindberg baby. at this point its possible just sayin l but if a baby is ever missin im askin harry
You are one of the very few who actually get the lore of Silent Hill. Anyway, I want to believe that Heather gets an infant directly after she defeats The Order is new incarnation of their ill-fated God at the end of Silent Hill 3. I wonder how Claudia and company ended up in The Otherworld before Silent Hill 3. Maybe she killed herself in an absurd ritual to enter The Otherworld, like Walter Sullivan did? Maybe she was born in it? I highly doubt it. Can Claudia escape The Otherworld. I believe she can. If she can, she would need something like some sacred magical seal. The Seal Of Metatron? As for the creation of The Foggy World/Nightmare World, ETC, it was created like a curse by Jennifer Carroll to her enemies back in the late 1980s. The Order used it later for their own purposes through magical means. In Silent Hill one, Alessa uses it to pull Harry and company into The Otherworld. By that time, her spiritual essence and psyche merge with it to create the creatures and her versions of Silent Hill. Plus, she soul travels through her dreamworld/s through astro projection. In Silent Hill 2, James unknowingly uses it to manifest the creatures and the different versions of Silent Hill and Maria. The town itself is neutral, although the land there is a sacred place that once was for sacred rituals by Native Americans. One of those rituals was to communicate with their dead love ones. The Mother Stone was one of those methods to communicate. As for Mary, she could be a descendent of Jennifer Carroll? She knew that Silent Hill is a sacred place. She must have known the history of it since she fell in love with the small tourist resort town. As for the possible future of the Silent Hill franchise, well, it has hit a wall. The only one who I think truly knows a lot of Silent Hill history is Harry Mason after Silent Hill 1. I would think that after Silent Hill 1, he did his own researching into Silent Hill and discovered things not in modern history books to say the least about Silent Hill and its forgotten dark past about The Order and whatnot. Since he was a crime novelist, he may have wrote a book about his findings or wrote a fictional version of what he went through in the first game. As for Walter Sullivan, well, I understand that his dreamworld/s have laws that he created to haunt his enemies so he can finish up his revenge plan after he died. As for the creatures? Those in Silent Hill 4: The Room could be Walter nightmares when he was younger. Who knows.
