Pinterest/internet /AI have also led customers to believe that simple one process big change is attainable. I have to constantly explain/warn customers that most of the time all you see on the internet is NOT true.

This video brings back so many memories. Some clients just dont understand the virtue of patiently taking steps. Dramatic changes have dramatic prices. I explain the process along the way. I will cut off a service and give my best result when I see negative effects. A determined client will ignore my recommendation. Come back and beg for help. Which normally results in a big haircut. Hair treatments and basically a Perscription of products. Those are the clients I dont want.

My work had me move every 3 years, due to this I would always ask whoever doing my hair to write down the formula used on my hair for the next one id find after I would move. So many salons were very grateful

It would be so helpful for the people that are doing other services to explain exactly what is going onto a clients hair and what not to get done afterwards. Great video. Bought bad some hairdressing nightmares!

Thanks to you James and Bobbi for this video. It helps a lot to reinforce these facts to us hairdressers.

Love these videos James, total respect to this hairdresser for posting this honest video. Think we learn more from the disasters and much better to learn from someone else’s 🤪xxx

An acquaintance's client's hair turned out similarly---actually worse-- and the client got pretty emotional, peed herself in the chair, and ended up having to wear a gown home.

I follow her as well. A humbling video...I've done it to myself by forcing my hairdresser SIL to give me a perm over another perm and highlighting. That chemical haircut was my eyeopener 😮

People are so gullible. I once had a client who told me that his previous hairstylist had told him that no one else in this world can cut his hair the way he can and that goes without saying if he dared to go somewhere else, he'd have his hair ruined. Naturally, he had him as a stylist for years🤣. They're right when they say there's sucker born every minute

One of the best things you can do for your clients, away from being honest with them, is to chelate their hair with Malibu crystal gel or CPR prior to lightening their hair. The chemical reaction that happened was the lightener reacting to the mineral build up from her water that she washes her hair with. Add to that all the other chemicals that had already been done, and there it is.. Malibu is your BEST friend for all chemical services! (No, I'm not a rep for Malibu...just a huge believer in what it can do!)

My hair (thankfully!) grows fast… it’s been mistreated lol I had it cut into a shoulder length bob 18months ago and now it’s past my armpits. It badly needs a cut but I know even if I have to chop a lot off, it will grow back within the year. Just lucky I guess… costs me a fortune in root touch ups though, so swings and roundabouts eh!

6:04 I once confused Color Oops and Color Zap when I was shopping at Sally’s. I was trying to buy a color remover to address previous rounds of Olia Box Dye, but I confused the product names and ended up purchasing some sort of weakened bleach kit.
So ya… my first attempt coloring my hair at home was a NIGHTMARE!

After numerous failed rounds of hot roots/bleach/t## toner… I finally accepted defeat & gave up on my bubble gum goop hair.
I did the walk of shame towards a stylist chair, & confessed to her what I had done.
She was very professional with me, she didn’t scold me- but she was firm & honest with me, which I appreciated.
I walked out of there with the CUTEST PIXIE CUT! I had no idea whether I’d be able to pull it off (head shape), but I got so many compliments, even from strangers!
