O/R H-pipe vs O/R X-pipe 2004 SVT Cobra

Car has stock manifolds and magnaflow street series cat-back. Just switched it to an off-road X from the H and I’m liking the tone a lot more. Higher pitched and sounds less like a truck in my opinion. The H pipe was a MAC off-road h. The x pipe is a custom fabricated one done by a local exhaust shop. They used a pre-made stamped x-pipe similar to the one from Lawson Industries 66925 on Amazon. Welded everything prior to the cat back to avoid leaking and sagging over time as well.

The x pipe definitely sounds better. Much cleaner and smoother. I've got a 98 cobra with custom fabbed x pipe also with a pypes m80 catback that I want to replace with borla stingers.

I had Borla stingers on the car originally and they were too loud for my tastes. Couldn’t bring my kids in the car with me without worrying about damaging their hearing. The custom x pipe and magnaflow cat back is the exact sound I was hoping for. Very happy with it.

Yeah, a bit. With the H it was just deeper, like kinda always in your chest. I matter what rpm. With the X it disappears at highway speeds. I much prefer the X.
