LRB. The most polished band I had ever seen in concert. 1979. Kansas City. Arrowhead Stadium. REO Speedwagon 9 Lives Tour. When Glen came on stage wearing black dress slacks and a loosely fitting white shirt, I was mesmerized. The whole band had a "class" I'd never seen before in a band. Amazing. And to think their first concert was just down the road from where I live now here in the US. A talented band that deserves more attention and credit than they ever received.
I am from the United states and I remember loving your music so much as a little girl even because my mother LOVED LRB. I am 48 years old now and mom is 70 now. She is a very sick lady. I live with her and take care of her. I can't begin to explain how much joy your music still brings to her and I. Thank you guys!!!
I think that "Reminiscing" is possibly one of the GREATEST songs written AND performed. It truly transports the listener to a different era effortlessly. So, so pleasing to listen to!!
With as sad and hopeless I've been feeling lately over politics, Covid, the financial carnage it has brought to so many of us in music, and the resignation that I got old in a young persons world, finding these interviews with several of the huge talents I so idolized when I heard them as a senior in high school brought me such happiness. It put a smile on my face for the first time in a long time. Certain harmony combinations were original, instantly recognizable, and never successfully imitated. The Mills Bros., The Everly Bros., Simon & Garfunkle, The Beatles, The Eagles, and of course, The Little River Band. I was blessed to be learning my musical craft at a time when talent like theirs was "the bar" to discover and for a 17 yr. old kid to learn from and try to emulate.
We, your fans know who the true little river band is. They can take away your name but they cant take away the heart that beats within you all,it is the essence of LRB after all and your fans the world over will always stand by yous regardless of what you call yourselves... Thankyou for the hits!!!
David Briggs - thank you for what you did to enable this conversation. It's such an important story of the history of Australian music. I really look forward to the next installment. I have just noticed that it is already posted - brilliant!
I had the privilege of being alone with Glenn, Beeb and Graeham in a radio studio to record a promo in early 2000s. The pure sound of their vocals live was simply breathtaking.
God Bless you Gentlemen. The TRUE Little River Band that were totally ripped off from their Name, earnings and Pride. We, your fans know the truth guys and we Love you guys so much. What an incredible Band you formed and the songs were some of the best ever written and performed by your Band, (I repeat, YOUR BAND). Your incredible vocals and Harmonies were the most inspirational music of that Era of Music. Thank you, and I mean that in the most heartfelt way.
LRB in private discussion and inviting us to listen, priceless. :) What an honour and a pleasant surprise to find you guys on YT. Noble, grounded decent people that contradict the modern day artists/entertainers of our day and they should take notice of LRB`s humility. You guys are a living legends, dont cut yourself short and be too modest lol. I will take this opportunity to thank you guys for giving us beautiful music and memories attached to those timeless melodies that i certainly still listen ,enjoy and have a little memory lane tour in my mind on every occasion that I hear your songs. Reminiscing, lady, cool change especially hold lots of fond memories for me and extend my utmost gratitude once again in providing us with those wonderful melodic and harmonic gifts that will probably last my life time for me anyway. Always a fan of LRB. Peace to all and god bless from Melbourne.
What a great treat to see and to hear my musical heroes from the real LRB. Please do this once agian in the near future. Thanks for some of the best songs ever made.
As one of the Dj in the bar.One of the most request was "Man on your mind"and "Cool change" back in the early 80s And oh boy I missed those days. I finally saw you guys. Thanks for the memories.Hope you will another concert in the future again.
OMG...I. LOVE. YOU... I was honored to see/meet you Beeb and Graham throughout the '80s & '90s in Illinois, etc!! I was BLESSED to finally see/meet Glenn in Wisconsin & Indiana in the early '90s!! THANK YOU all for being so genuine about taking the time to meet/talk to a huge fan (since the '70s) like me!! Glenn, you even added my name in "Lady" when you sang it live in Wisconsin!! That meant the world to me!! I keep hoping you guys will come to the US!! Mainly SW Florida 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞🤞XOXOXOXO
My favourite Aussie band, still listen to the music every day… Timeless music that is as good or better than anything in the world. Was a very interesting video…
My mother introduced me to Little River Band from when I was 2 years old (late 1975) and took me to so many of their concerts from when I was a very small boy. Their music has formed the soundtrack of my life and I know so many of their songs word perfect and listen to them so often that I've nearly worn out the original vinyl albums. Luckily now on CD. LRB have been such a massive part of my life and am so happy that my twin boys (who are currently 5 years old) love their music after I have introduced them to LRB. May their music live on in eternity and how much would we all love to see these gentlemen reunite for one final tour before time passes too long.
It really is a pleasure and privilege to listen to these fabulous musicians share their memories. First came across LRB watching an open-air live concert in Australia on the BBC in the '80's and I was totally blown away by the sheer quality of the performance, superb vocals and harmonies; superb, individual musicianship and I rated them as being absolutely first class. Have been a fan ever since. One of my all-time favourite bands for sure.
Sydney, Australia, at EMI Records 301 Castlereagh Street. I was an artist designing album covers and all sorts of Commerical art. I pop my head out of the art department just in time as the boys were walking through the front door, down the hallway of EMI, and saw the guys go to the elevator, I knew them all from different Australian bands. They were just about to sign to the Label. I said, "You're a Supergroup!". They looked at each other and laughed that "Are we really?!?" It was magic and I got to know some of the guys about12 years later in Los Angeles. They are the BEST!
You all did it just right! Major part of my history & so privileged to have been in that era. It’s your band, your music, your NAME & always will be. NO ONE can replace you..🤗❤️
Thanks for doing this........LRB is one of my favorite bands and absolutely love their music. Nothing like the LRB harmonies and vocal arrangements. Had the privilege to talk with Graeham and Beeb and share some music and vocal production tips. Always grateful for that. Their music will live on for a long time. They were truly one of the great bands of the 70's and 80's.
These guys are the real deal. I would love to hear them just put out a single once in awhile and capture some of that magic. So much talent it's a shame not to hear some new ones from these guys. I have so much respect for this group their music has played such an awesome part in my life thank you guys.
We would have - and would be - if they hadn't lost the legal right to use their band name LRB. One of the most ridiculous legal stories of the international music world. The world has been robbed.
in my opinion LRB was and will ALWAYS be the absolute BEST band to come out of AUSTRALIA and there are a LOT!!! better harmonies you will NEVER hear~!!!! LOve their music !!!!!!!
Thank you for this! I've argued most of my life that LRB was as great (if not better) as The Eagles. I hope you guys make more of these as we (your American fans) really appreciate you! God Bless and Thank you again 😊👍
Thank you David for these very special zoom sessions you did with the original LRB musicians. I, like many, have been an enormous fan since 1975. When a good friend of mine’s band played “A Long Way There”, I had to find out who recorded the song. After finding out it was LRB, I was hooked. I am 68 and still listed to you guys every day. It was great hearing and seeing the original crew, so again Thank you for these 2 zoom sessions. No other band in the world like them.
You guys are awesome. Your vocals and musicianship is phenomenal! Love all your songs! Me and my kid brother had the honors of meeting you guys back in the early 90's in New Haven, Ct. at " _Toads Place_ " *Glenn* was really nice to us. we bought him a drink or two. The band sounded like their records thats how tight they were! One song I remember you played was " _Baby Come Back_ " by the group *Player* " You sounded like them? WOW! Reminiscing is my favorite. I've been in a few bands and we always tried to mimic your vocal style.., couldn't do it! It would be fantastic if you guys got together again and made an album or two, and maybe play a few small clubs around The USA 🤗 We need great bands like you guys! Todays garbage they try to pull off as music is just ...Garbage! from Hip-Hop to ..What Not??? The Planet needs " *The Little River Band"!!!!* *God Bless and be with all of you and you family's!!!* ⛪✝🤎
LRB is my all-time favorite band. "Home on Monday" is my all-time favorite song of theirs, oddly enough, because it was never released as a single in the U.S. It was hidden on the "Diamantina Cocktail" albrum and I heard it inadvertently one day when my college roommate was playing the album. As soon as I heard it, I stopped and asked, "Wow, what song is THAT?" Glenn's voice is one of the most unique and appealing ever.
Master Class! Thank you from New Zealand for inspiring musicians like myself. You were the first concert I ever went to. Mesmerising harmonies, gorgeous arrangements and brilliant songwriting. Mad respect!!
Also a Kiwi and they were my first concert too. Auckland '83' I think. Pretty sure it was with John and Glen singing but could be wrong, definitely John singing.
This was thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you guys. I’m from the US and have been a fan since 1979. I am horrified to say I have just recently heard your story and the reiteration of the band in the US. It will forever be a “cover band”. You guys are the real deal. Thank you for the incredible music.
What a great documentary oh, I didn't know that members of The Little River Band were part of all these other lesser known bands. Now it has me wanting to research some of these lesser-known bands that were part of their formative years. I will always love the Little River Band to me the right up there with all the other greats. And they're lyrics, melodies and arrangements were so meaningful and spot on. God bless you all
If you guys can, I think you would thril your audiences if one or a number of you could make surprise appearances on each other's individual touring engagements if possible
Remember hearing "It's a Long Way There" in my car in the mid 70's and being totally blown away. Had the pleasure of seeing them in Philly in 1978 or thereabouts and remember that show fondly as one of the best I've ever seen. Their music has been a big part of the soundtrack of my life.
Mine too! These guys made so much great music together and their harmonizing was nothing short of excellent. I have literally worn out their greatest hits on 8- track, several cassettes and CD and I have a ball playing my bass along with the band; no matter how bad the day turns out to be just put on a L.R.B. song and I promise it will get better!!!
Thanks for sharing this video. So many memories comes alive. LRB is since over 40 years one of my most favorite Bands, I just love your music. But I never had the chance to watch and listen to the original line-up live. If an angel would ask me, which three bands you would like see, I would state Geneis w. Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd and LRB's Original Line-Up. I had a ticket for your show 1981 in Mannheim, but I lay in the hospital after a heavy surgery. In 1984 I sax LRB performing at an open air in Mannheim, but Beep and Glenn had left, John Farnham was doing the vocals. And in 1992 I saw LRB with "magic" Glenn on Vocals, which I will never forget. I have a routine with LRB: On the first sunny day in spring when driving in my car, I open the sun roof and play LRB music. Then I know: winter is over and summer. to come. To you at LRB: Stay healthy, enjoy every day of your life, be proud about how much your music means to so many people. Good bless all of you!
I was in junior high when i heard “reminiscing” over the radio and fell in love with it… really love that song… it’s cool to see these cool musicians still talk about music in these challenging times… 🥰
back in the day i used to get rolling stone dilivered. was a review of the jimmy buffet concert with l.r.b. as support.. it praised l.r.b and said it was the last time you ever see them support jimmy. next time they play on the same card jimmy would be their support act. they got that right aye what!
About 'Reminiscing', I recently read that May Pang during her relationship with John Lennon, wrote that it was their favorite song as a couple. --Quite a tremendous compliment and testament to the talent of these men together. It's great to hear them here talking together. Thank you for posting this! Guys, you are the soul and real iconic LRB no matter what the legal headache.
Thank you for bringing this together. I was already a fan when I saw LRB at the Roundhouse of NSW Uni in ‘75 or ‘76. Then dozens of shows including BS&G at the Enmore. Thank you for the memories.
Thank you! I have wished for years that I could sit down and talk with these gentlemen and hear their recollections. If only Derek could have been there to add a few of his comments. And thank you for making LRB my favorite band ever. It was worth any jokes from the Aerosmith/VanHalen guys we graduated school with.
...I meant, it’s a shame that they still aren’t performing together. I remember being blown away at their harmonies...the first time I heard It’s A Long Way, I was hooked. Thanks for the music, LRB...THE ORIGINAL LRB, that is !!
You guys really affect us - we treasure your contributions to our lives. There are UA-cam reactors (usually much younger) that react to classic rock - Tre Narcisse feels LRB perfectly. He absolutely loved Hard Life and Middle Man!
I have fond memories of the Little River Band in the late '70s. Reminiscing, Lady, Cool Change were some of the best songs on the radio at that time. Great Stuff! Thank you for doing this video; catching up with the guys was lovely.
Peace & Blessings your music is a gift to humanity I am a music lover but love only beautiful lyrics and harmony. I wasn't too familiar with your group but knew your songs. I must say I love cool change soooo much. The lead vocalist sang the song from his soul. This song just reach my heart and deep emotions. This song will help me make my change in my life because I feel connected to the message. God blessings I have a little River band cd in my collection and I will treasure it and enjoy every song. African American woman 50s generation. Stay young at ❤
You guys were influenced me back in 1979 amazing band , music , and harmonies still love your music and are playing your songs it in bands today congratulations on your success you are truly an an outstanding group of musicians. Thanks guys love you!
The Little River Band had so many great songs but if I had to pick my favourite 3 I would choose Reminiscing( absolute perfection in my opinion), Light of Day and Cool Change. On a side note I've always thought their 1988 song Love is a Bridge is an absolute gem, I've always loved Glenn's vocals on that track.
Absolutely great to see this. My first introduction to LRB was at the beginning of the 80's, I was flying to Miami with a Girlfriend for a holiday and heard Take it Easy On Me on one of the inflight channels. Was absolutely hooked (was very much hooked on the Girlfriend at then time as well, not sure that she was but that’s another story) and have followed LRB, & subsequently BSG, since that time. My all time favourite band, great harmonies, productions, total musicality, such talent, brilliant. Thanks for posting.
Wow. This was fantastic and way too short to cover such an amazing career and body of work. We need another few more to cover everything and do justice to it. Here's hoping for more. Thanks guys.
Thank you so much that was a great zoom. You provided such great music over the years. It's music that will always stand the test of time. Your harmonies are just incredible.... Please do another zoom when you can.. Thanks again from a fan in Australia.
Loved the insight into the history of these guys !!! I first saw the at the Exhibition Pavilion in Melbourne around 1975/76. I am a huge fan of Derek and his drumming which was flawless! I now live in Western Japan and play LRB through my PA at "full bore" in my factory at least 3-4 days per week and the staff love it !!! Thankyou for posting this vid its been GREAT !!!!
I wish he'd do a solo record with friends. He has an unreleased album with Marty Rose Band that they recorded at his studio. But there was a falling out with them.
Thank you for this video of my all favorite band from Australia, been a huge fan for many years, Hopefully BSG can get together and do some shows here in Australia next year. This is the real LRB not those impersonators in the USA. Looking forward to your next chat
Very eye opening to say the least working at DECA records lots of overtime just to be able to fly home, and than living in different homes but also spending so much time rehearsing, sure shows.
A breath of fresh air watching and listening to 4 masters of their craft. Thanks so much for putting this video together. Take care guys, stay safe and stay healthy. Thanks so much for your music.
Great to see you all 'reminiscing'. So many awesome songs paving the way for Australian songwriters and bands for years to come. Also, David glad you're back on your feet again. Love to you all this year. Stay well. More songs on the way I'm sure. x Catrina Seiffert
good stuff guys, I grew up listening to all your songs on the recorded tape recordings of your records I copied from my brothers collection in the 70's and a lot of my own music and guitar playing was totally influenced by those listening experiences growing up, I never got to see you guys play live but my brother went and saw you playing at a gig you guys did supporting Santana and Fleetwood Mac at I think was at Sunbury or Calder early on (I was quite young at the time) and he said you guys blew them bands away
I love these men. (And I do not say that casually. Fame is no big deal to me.) They each have their own personal traits I find endearing. Wonderful they have stayed friends through the changes of long lives. Was a kid when they started, been listening to them all my life. Enjoyed every minute of their reminiscing, learning more about what they experienced, the massive talent they focused and shared. Hate it that these bodies are nearing the end of their shelf life, but thankful their spirits are still shining bright, making me smile. ❤
I remember buying the first album on recommendation from Ron Leigh, I played it all night and just couldn't believe the sound was coming from an Aussie band, I haven't stopped admiring LRB since......Can't wait to hear part two David..
LRB. The most polished band I had ever seen in concert. 1979. Kansas City. Arrowhead Stadium. REO Speedwagon 9 Lives Tour. She's got great taste in music😍👏👍
So do you 😁
The name of the band is named after a town in my home state victoria
I think that "Reminiscing" is possibly one of the GREATEST songs written AND performed. It truly transports the listener to a different era effortlessly. So, so pleasing to listen to!!
And that fabulous flugelhorn solo at the end is what gets me...I actually like Lady and Lonesome Loser better though
@@newavatar2947 ❤❤ LADY!! Always in my heart guys!! 🇺🇸

Wonderful musicians n beautiful voices without autotune n half naked women😁👏👏👏👏👏
Great comment
"Got old in a young person's world".... aint it the truth!

Amazing history and an amazing band. Honoured to be able to hear the stories and the beginnings of the ORIGINAL Little River Band
Dear little River band!! Thanks for 50 years of the best music around!! Love y’all
Young men now a little seasoned. Times have changed. The music hasn’t. The sound, the beautiful lyrics and the harmonies will always remain.
God Bless you Gentlemen. The TRUE Little River Band that were totally ripped off from their Name, earnings and Pride. We, your fans know the truth guys and we Love you guys so much. Agreed 💯🥰
amazing band, wonderful music, one guitarist to another.... David Briggs is in my top 5.. never get tired of his playing
His solos were the first solos I ever tried to work out when i was first trying to play lead guitar
Hard to believe when Briggs
left LRB,he joined a band called Vinnie and The Vibrators.
I and many kids back then had first heard " Its a long way there" and we never looked back
Gigantic River Band!!! love the sound of these guys! ❤❤❤
I wish you all would tour the US. It would be so great to hear the original voices live again.
Yup do York, Pa

If you guys can, I think you would thril your audiences if one or a number of you could make surprise appearances on each other's individual touring engagements if possible
I got to see Glenn at a solo gig in Melbourne a few years ago. He was excellent.
Wow thes guys .. For me : they are "The Little River band"... thank you for this video.. big hug from Holland - Europe
Loved this. One of my favorite bands of all time......still decades later
You guys are the BEST! Love the real LITTLE RIVER BAND!
No egoes here.Great guys
I was in junior high when i heard “reminiscing” over the radio and fell in love with it… really love that song… it’s cool to see these cool musicians still talk about music in these challenging times… 🥰
I love The Little River Band ….coming from Mississippi 👍👍
back in the day i used to get rolling stone dilivered. was a review of the jimmy buffet concert with l.r.b. as support.. it praised l.r.b and said it was the last time you ever see them support jimmy. next time they play on the same card jimmy would be their support act. they got that right aye what!
What a pleasure to listen to you guys tell the story.
True musicians and a fantastic Band.
My first concert and most memorable was Little River Band September 1983 in Anchorage Alaska. Amazing concert.
...I meant, it’s a shame that they still aren’t performing together.
Light of Day is one of my very favorite songs that flies under the radar, great song.
Love these guys, awesome musicans and nice people!
To this Day, I love your music❤. Brings back so many wonderful memories at that time. Good to see all of you. Blessings!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Stay young at ❤
I enjoyed this l can't wait to hear more Thank to our Little River Band
You guys were influenced me back in 1979 amazing band , music , and harmonies still love your music and are playing your songs it in bands today
congratulations on your success you are truly an an outstanding group of musicians.
David Briggs was an outstanding guitarist.
Is
I wish he'd do a solo record with friends. He has an unreleased album with
Marty Rose Band that they
recorded at his studio. But there was a falling out with
them.
David Briggs is an incredible guitarist!! My favorite ever.
It's amazing how 'age' takes over...I face it every day...won't be much longer n I wont recognize meself!!...LRB lives forever on..
The one and only little river band thank you 🙏
Thank you gentlemen. So many memories for me in your music. Thank you for everything.
Thank you for this video of my all favorite band from Australia, been a huge fan for many years, Hopefully BSG can get together and do some shows here in Australia next year. This is the real LRB not those impersonators in the USA. Looking forward to your next chat
This is gold. Thanks so much lads! Brilliant stuff.
These guys are legends in the music world. So nice to hear the history of their careers
I first saw the LRB on tour in UK at Durham University in 1977 - great songs & wonderful harmonies! Thanks guys.
This was wonderful! I loved hearing all this wonderful history of the bands early days.
Years of enjoying your music😁
Great to see you all 'reminiscing'. So many awesome songs paving the way for Australian songwriters and bands for years to come. Also, David glad you're back on your feet again. Love to you all this year. Stay well. More songs on the way I'm sure. x Catrina Seiffert
I will always love the little Riverband❤️❤️❤️❤️😊
good stuff guys, I grew up listening to all your songs on the recorded tape recordings of your records I copied from my brothers collection in the 70's and a lot of my own music and guitar playing was totally influenced by those listening experiences growing up, I never got to see you guys play live but my brother went and saw you playing at a gig you guys did supporting Santana and Fleetwood Mac at I think was at Sunbury or Calder early on (I was quite young at the time) and he said you guys blew them bands away
Blessed to hear you wonderful guys!
Thank you for the music guys !
👍👍👍
Love the Band. Thank you for sharing the stories. Your music is the soundtrack to my youth. Best memories. So God bless you and yours.
WOW!! This interview is solid gold 🤩👍😍👏👏👏 love it!!
Wow,, What Icon’s These Gentlemen Are,, Great Upload..
Agreed 💯🥰
I remember buying the first album on recommendation from Ron Leigh, I played it all night and just couldn't believe the sound was coming from an Aussie band, I haven't stopped admiring LRB since......Can't wait to hear part two David..
They're amazeing
