15 years back, my GF at the time was in Denton for school. I went up to visit her at TWU and I drove to a Walgreens to pick up some cold meds. My truck was making a noise from under it so I crawled under the side to look under there and see if I could find the source of the noise. In less than 5 minutes, there were 5 police cars around me questioning me on what I was doing there and under a vehicle.

If anyone is reading this, look up the case of the poor woman, Krystal Evans, who was just gunned down in a court parking lot, after her ex husband was found guilty of charges of stalking her. The judge said whatever, he can turn himself in Monday, and he took Krystal's life moments after, outside of the court house. She told the judge he was going to take her life. And he did. IM SO SO SICK OF HOW OUR COURT SYSTEM HANDLES STALKINF CASES!!!! I’m a true crime fanatic, have been watching true crime cases since I was very little, and there’s a good 50% of these cases were the perpetrator has been caught stalking or following someone before they start killing victims. I don’t understand why stalking isn’t considered a precursor to more serious offenses!!! The fact that there’s no real sentencing for stalking is insane to me. How could someone be following someone else, tracking their every move, obsessively watching and prowling, and that not be a serious criminal offense worthy of at least a couple years? That doesn’t make any sense to me. Almost all people who kill at random are in some form of psychosis. Almost all people who kill with a plan and a purpose plot and stalk and wait until they find the right time to strike. This man should’ve been jailed for stalking his ex. He should not have been left to roam the streets. This poor poor fucking girl man!!! And was anyone else absolutely infuriated by how he kept laughing during the interrogation, saying “I don’t know how I could do that”??? He knows he’s going to jail either way. They have all the evidence they need. Why not try to have even a modicum of decency and come clean?? To deny it and laugh about it… my blood was boiling!!!!

deserve to die like this 💔

It's a fair point, but there are many professions where stalking is what you do. Background checks for starters. Then there is every corporate security department in America. Then you've got your private detectives, law firms, police detectives, all federal law enforcement, every single reporter, including self appointed internet reporters.
You aren't wrong though, criminal stalking usually leads to much more serious crime.

because it doesnt differentiate between real stalking and say, cyberstalking. it is just another made up charge to get money from people, so why would they care anything past that? and how would they know, when every single case is faultily proceeded based on the defendant being as guilty as possible no matter what and their job is to prove hes guilty without a doubt, so there is really no chance of 'lesser' crime or 'not as serious' everyone is guilty of the same crime (granted violent cases give time based on how bad someone got hurt, usually). that being said there is no differentiation between serious cases and lesser cases, of say, cyberstalking, which both constitute the same law, the person thinks they are in danger, etc, but does not do anything in the case of the killer, who is proceeded through the court in the same manner as someone who say, wrote a mean facebook message.

Why did he only get a mis demeanor? Probably because it was his first offense and he plead down. Most prosecutors allow you to plead down to avoid a costly and lengthy trial, especially for first time offender. IF that is a goodd thing? Probably not but our system depends on it. It is strethched to its limits and 99% of all cases don't go to trial.

Absolutely loved the detective redirection. Obviously he knows what a koi pond is. Him acting oblivious and mispronouncing it I feel was definitely a ploy to make the suspect slip up. And he did! He immediately corrected him by saying “koi pond”… if you really didn’t remember what you were doing, there’s no way you could recognize that he said Kiki instead of koi. And they way he responded seemed almost instinctual, like he hadn’t thought too hard before he said it. And all of his guilt bleeds through in this moment. You can’t say you don’t remember a thing when you obviously remember enough to correct a detective on what, exactly, you said! Brilliant work by this detective.

In fact, Denton has consistently had lower violent crime rates than the national average for over a decade (with property crime being what outranks it).
However, “safe” is very subjective, obviously. Over the last 6-8 years, r4pe and theft has risen exponentially compared to the US average (so it is higher in Denton). It has higher crime than 80% of US cities, the crime rate rose 10% in 2022 compared to 2021, increased with homicides from 4 to 7 in 2022 (but it is still low given the overall population numbers). It does rank higher for crime than most nearby cities to Denton, but overall … it absolutely can still be seen as a safe when you factor in the odds in comparison to other cities with the same population numbers.

I just want to say I really appreciate this channel. I think it's been put together very well. From the opening song, to The narrator's voice, but most importantly the clarity of hearing detectives during the interrogation process. Every video on this channel is captivating but is also excellent background noise to fall asleep to. And one last thing, the opening prayer they give the victims on every video stands alone regarding respect for the person who has passed and there loved ones

I really hate it when these True Crime creators put "coming up" spoilers at the beginning of the video. It ruins the suspense and climax of the story.
