I ought to try this Sound pretty darn good to me Update: for those of you who think he’s crazy for the combination of ingredients *THIS MAN IS A GENIUS* The sloppy joe was way better than the powder packet I am never going back This is the only recipe I will use fo sloppy joe
I probably would have thrown in a bit of paprika or some hot sauce (in place of the jelly). I also like using tortilla shells for my sloppy joes and eat em like tacos. Def going to try the from-scratch option next time. Thanks for the idea.
Tyson Blake I use the grape jelly in my Sweedish meatballs. It is good , I also will try this but will include a little apple cider vinegar to the mix.
Bro I watched ten of your videos in the hour. I am a huge fan. I will be trying to make your country fried steak recipe this Thursday and I know its going to be good. You need to change your profile name to cooking with king of the hill.
oh yeh gooder fulfilling food,, use potato chips for dipping,, and those ketchup farts were torture!!! anybody add onions too? awesome!! did the younguns try it ?? thats were your legacy stands. God Bless and Keep Yall Safe Warm Secure !!
Hahaha...my daughters thought I was crazy when I was teaching them how to make sloppy joes and I put 1 1/2 tablespoons of delicious homemade grape jelly in the mix. I have my own recipe and I ALWAYS use grape jelly. But, I followed your recipe as close as I could and it came out perfect...just perfect. I might just keep yours as my first "go-to" recipe and use mine as a close second. Thanks so much for sharing your awesome recipe, Pohto. Definitely a keeper :)
Barbecue Sauce and Grape Jelly instead of Brown Sugar. I will try anything once. I put a little grape Jelly in Beef Stroganoff. It tones down the saltiness.
I loved your recipe, I will add the grape jelly next time too. I would probably add a bit of apple cider or red wine vinegar to balance all the sweetness! Otherwise your recipe Rocked! Thank You!
Grape jelly is an interesting twist. I know I use sugar in my tomato sauces but next time I'll try the jelly. Open face sandwich, put cheese on top and then take it to the broiler. My mom used to call it hamburger or sloppy joe pizza. It kept us fed and happy.
My friend.... that is knife edge abuse to end all knife abuse...on a plastic or wood cutting board will keep that knife decent for a lot longer time cutting on that plate kills the edge immediately .... recipe was solid though
grape jelly is very common in meatball appetizer recipes so it's not so far out there as an ingredient. Brown sugar is in the same vein...just more common for BBQ sauce type flavors. It's just combining sweet and savory either way.
Oh please! Worried about handles? Of course his children aren't reaching and burning themselves; He is right there in his defense & doubtful, if he would put his children in harm's way to begin with. You must microwave a lot. No offense,. Bottom line: Comment on the recipe the other stuff is just life included.....WOW. People shock the s*** out of me every day with comments so un-related to actual recipe.
LOL! You lost me at the grape jelly dude, LOL!!! But, as long as you like it, it's all good, LOL! :) Yes it did sound real weird, HAHA!!!! :P But, I'm a Yank...:P But... ya know...haha!!!
Potho; meaning? Love your dishes &, southern inflection. You don’t speak soft, Jimmy Carter “Rs” but a more specific “R” I that thought would be indigenous to Oklahoma or Mississippi.
ThePohto I agree, you never even balanced the acidity from the ketchup and worcestershire. You could have thrown in a teaspoon or so of chilli flakes/tobasco as your BBQ sauce would only add to the tangy flavour. The jelly probably sweetened it up but a bit of heat is always essential.
I ought to try this
Sound pretty darn good to me
Update: for those of you who think he’s crazy for the combination of ingredients
*THIS MAN IS A GENIUS*

Looks so good.
I’m new here but I’m hooked on this channel
If you're unsure of the jelly, use brown sugar instead , I also use a lil mustard and cumin. Just a tip from my Grammys (and now mine) kitchen!
Grape jelly is a crucial ingredient in meat balls also.
Hell yeah! Great, thanks man.
Never tried jelly before but I make my own instead of bell peppers I use brown sugar and paprika in mine
I have to say my food critic daughter gave your sloppy joe thumbs up 👍😁😁😁😁😁

Gomer Pyle making sloppy joes
Nice addition of the jelly.
There are times I add that to a thick pasta sauce for a nice sweetness.
Nice version of the classic sloppy joe here!
Can’t tolerate peppers. Should be good without, right?
Let me know if you liked it or not..Thanks
I think it is great you cook for all the kids.
Mighty fine!!! love it your cooking! Love your accent!

grape jelly is very common in meatball appetizer recipes so it's not so far out there as an ingredient. Brown sugar is in the same vein...just more common for BBQ sauce type flavors. It's just combining sweet and savory either way.
Looks decent but I would back off on the sauces a bit.
good stuff, homie!!
you got kids... need to turn the pan handles away, so they won't reach it and burn themselves.
***** I do when I'm away from it :}
