I actually followed him for a bit, then sort of had him subscribed in the background. I ended up unsubbing when he reacted to Vaush's video explaining all his past drama shit and literally paused every 5 seconds with the most bad faith shit imaginable.
Nux is... ok, I'll be brutally honest, i think nux is an unlikable piece of shit and that's one of my biggest reasons for not liking the podcast him, muta, and oompaville do. That said, I like both muta and Caleb. I just don't like nux.

Hey, so I thought this would interesting to add. I like talking about it when Nux gets brought up.
I used to watch him when I was an early teenager, maybe tween. When he first started UA-cam he was a real anime analysis youtuber, like a real one who brought up things that were actually pretty decent observations from time to time. Back then the biggest other name in anime youtube was Mothersbasement, who wasn’t always as cool as he was now. I don’t remember the specifics of this, Basement had some drama where he asked his fans not to pirate anime, to which Nux made a video asking all of his fans to pirate anime and celebrating the closure of an American anime studio shut down by this where he was Jack sparrow and Mothers basement was the British ship captain guy in the scene where Jack steals the guys boat in pirates of the Caribbean. That’s the first time I became aware of him.
From there he had years of making friends on the platform and doing real anime analysis content which doesn’t really exist anymore. He started a podcast with friends of his where he’d rotate in an out anime UA-cam guests every week, I found a guy on there I actually liked the content of who keeps an arms length from Nux generally nowadays, and a youtuber who I used to love and though I haven’t seen him in a while, I suspect is still a cool guy, Supereyepatchwolf was on there once. So I won’t impute people for going on and this was before his gooner content. However I do want to point out that two of the regular hosts there are A.) an anituber who had drama for stirrings shut because an anime meme subreddit was banning people for misgendering, and a guy who spent at least 5 minutes every episode talking about his favorite book, Leviathan, yes the ancient political book that’s pro monarchy. Yes he thought it had some really interesting ideas.
Now let’s talk gooner stuff. At some point he decided to make a second channel, Nuxanor, which did brain rot content like biggest flexes in anime 17. Very low effort, 0 Iq, but ultimately probably harmless videos. They however did big numbers for him for some reason and got him to expand further. I think it was originally a joke video or sun goal or something where he did biggest flexes in hentai. And from there that video also did numbers for him I guess because I don’t think his hand ever left his dick from that day on. This is really where his weirdo gooner stuff starts.
This is also where I started watching him less and less. I really couldn’t care less for those videos, or his other videos, collab content.
So who was Nux when he dropped the persona. I will say I wish the guy dropped the persona more often because the most memorable moments I have of the guy are of him dropping is very rarely on his podcast. I remember at the time he made a comment how he was frustrated with UA-cam becuase he had a decent subscriber base but his views were dropping, and he knew why they were dropping, the audience who came to him for anime analysis stuff could not care less about collabs or hentai videos for the most part, so his views were coming from the algorithm. On another occasion I remember someone asking him to make his old type of videos again and him flatly saying no, another time I also remember him mentioning how the views just weren’t there for anime analysis UA-cam anymore. I think the thing that stands out to me THE MOST in retrospect, is he was really fragile. Not in a triggered sort of way, but in a, when he talked about it openly the few times he did he was terrified of showing his face. There’s a reason he hasn’t to this day. His character has a mask on its design, its original design had the mask covering the face, and he’s very clear he never wants to show his face out of fear. I think he’s actually terrified of it. There’s a reason his persona has so much bravado and confidence. He deliberately traced joker from P5 for a long time, and before that I think it was sans for a while. He claims to like agents of chaos, though honestly I think he likes confidence and psychos play into his bit.
Anyway his Nuxanor content eventually became his main channel content and Nuxanor became a clip/ reaction channel I think. I unsubbed a long long time ago and I can’t believe he’s still gooning to this day. I unsubbed around the time he made his first music video, something about being uncancellable. I couldn’t get through 15 seconds of it honestly even as someone who liked a bunch of his stuff at the time. Also worth mentioning the dudes clearly kind of in it for the money and really really wants to be anime pewdeepie.
One final note though, that manga you mentioned, the really really gross one. I actually know about it through Nux. At some point on his podcast he plugged it, selling it as “the darkest hentai” or the “the best story in hentai” or something to that effect. I read it when I shouldn’t have. I’m not going to say I regret it, but it sure wasn’t the best story in hentai. Honestly it was just really gross and pointlessly edgy. It’s like too many pages of rape, her getting kicked out of her house by a mom who thought she seduced the dad, then doing prostitution to survive until she dies in childbirth. If it has a message at all it’s a deeply feminist one about the mom being sexist, or the girl not being able to get an abortion, or the dad getting away with actual rape because the mom is more willing to blame her then the dad. But honestly it’s just misery porn in the most literal sense of the term. I really can’t understand anyone’s love for it and really don’t even think it’s worth checking out even if you liked that stuff. It’s just…gross.

I found him just before he switched over to Kick. I was only interested in his cartoon show reactions, like TOH when he started that and then Adventure Time. I tried to keep watching but I just saw him decline into weirdo circles. Random transphobic comments that are just made for no reason. His community is hateful, and he refuses to take criticism. Sad but I guess he was always this way which I am learning now. I had no clue he did this weird shit. Never really checked him out beyond the shows I liked, I should be more diligent to who I watch I guess.
Xan, I like you dude, but I really wish you'd do some research. Don't paint all vtubers with a broad brush. I follow and watch a lot of vtubers. I've been in this rabbit hole for years. As such, I can very confidently say that vtubers fall across a wide spectrum that includes all kinds of people. It's like saying all furries are zoos. Yes, there are members of the community who aren't good, please, call them out. But don't paint all of them like that. It's a bad look, and only gives fuel and aid to those bad members by allowing them to discount your entire argument due to a perceived bias.
This and Mutahar strong tendency of sticking his face on leopards and getting his face eaten time to time is what makes me question his intelligence

The reason why I used to watch Nux when I was younger (around 10 to 14, when I stopped because I unsubscribe from a lot of people I didn't like) was because he talked like Pewdiepie and wacky and weird. I thought what he showed was ok because a lot of people thought it was ok, and that it was funny because other UA-camrs I watched thought it was funny.

Xanderhal mentioned Ross as good. To say that the Vtuber community is not all bad, Ross is essentially a VTuber, or at least strongly connected. You find some pretty cool connections with the good UA-camrs that fit in the VTuber spheres, like Jaiden.
I would even the "Lewdtubers" can be some of the most wholesome and avoid going to into age inappropriate stuff.

if pippa is the rabbit chick, she's literally a nazi, in almost every video i've seen of her, her chat is filled with nazi dog whistles that she herself memes on. she acts like she doesn't know what the chat is saying, but if i was a youtuber and kept seeing the same numbers and words constantly appearing in my chat all the time, i would fucking google it out of curiosity, so her not knowing what her chat is really saying is total bullshit also the fact that she attracted so many nazi viewers in the first place says a lot on its own
People were actually already starting to get fed up with Nux but it was just because he was annoying, no one ever brought any of this stuff up in those threads.
It feels so strange looking back at how much people laughed off the idea that we live in a rape culture and some still do, while this stuff is still normalised (and was even more a few years ago). Some years ago I binge watched Nux Taku’s One Piece video (and quite liked them to be frank, but wasn’t interested in his other content so I didn’t subscribe at the time) and had the weirdest fucking dream one night where me and Nux’s avatar went on a road trip, and he kept putting us in weird and shitty situations. It striked me as I usually don’t remember my dreams, but it was… A trip. I don’t have anything else to say beside being disappointed in Nux, but ultimately not really surprised.

In one of his podcast appearances, Shad shared the story of how he was kicked out of college after his artwork was discovered on a website his university had provided for a school project. There’s no way they didn’t know what he had been drawing lol

I used to like Nux Taku in his earlier days when he was making clever funny analysis of anime, like "How to make a crap anime hero" or the simp tier list, or his review of Yu Yu Hakusho.
But I grew disinterested in him when he became a reaction channel. I'm sorry to hear he's gotten into loli and hentai.
So I don’t like Nux, but I remember finding his channel when it was super small and he was trying to do anime video essay/analysis content, and it is absolutely wild what’s happened to his content in since then.

I tried to post this comment yesterday and it either got deleted or UA-cam didn't post it/isn't showing it to me, so I'm going to try to remember what I said and try again:
This whole situation feels kind of similar to assault accusations before the MeToo movement, where everyone is generally too scared to be the first to call someone out until they go way too far. I wonder if it's possible to do shock humor in a way that criticizes this kind of stuff instead of glorifying it. At the very least, it's not good to show it off to an audience that has minors like Nux does. If he just did all this in a private unrecorded video call instead, I would think of it as being only slightly bad (because his preferences seems to trend towards immoral sex rather than loving sex).
The last thing I'm curious about is whether a slow-burn romance manga like Bloom Into You (one of the most famous lesbian stories) would be classified as CP under that legal definition you showed. There is one scene at the end where two high-school aged girls are obviously having intercourse, but the artwork doesn't try to sexualize them, and the story appears to be rated for ages 13 and up. It's obviously not the same as what Nux watches, so it feels kind of wrong to me that they would be legally the same.
Nux used to make decent content. Original content as well that had some decent research even if you disliked him. This downward spiral he's been in can be directly traced back to The Critical Drinker. They did an initial collab and Stinker broke something in his brain and he got consistently worse after each collab they did until he became this.
While he might have Conservative ideology his current expression of it is fully down to him having been infected with Stinker's brain rot.
He never collabed with drinker he just reacted to some of his videos.

Whenever the shadman association cancelations come through on a new wave i always worry for oney plays and the show smiling friends. There is a clip in one of their most popular clip videos where they describe going to a diner with their "buddy" shad and how hes such a shy and polite guy that is such a sweetheart. Like thats more than just being on a gameshow with him thats a shining endorsement of the lolicon guy.
To be honest, as a person that used to watch him like I really watch this dude, I really didn't find it funny now the age that I was when I started to watch Nux was about 15 going on 16 i believe i watched him up until 17 stopped because I feel like people that make videos like that. Just aren't funny, it might sound harsh, but he's just not funny to me like he's never truly been funny he strikes me off as a person. That's very uncreative and more P*rn mystery videos will forever actually annoy me, because it's like, ok, we get it, you just wanted to find a reason to show your audience that type of stuff and without feeling like a Gooner i hated it when kage and Phoenix another guy i forgot who also only made this type of video once I'm glad they didn't do it anymore :/ Nux is just extremely weird and awkward there's only so many things you can actually call humor, humour is funny, and it actually has effort put into it. I did think her post about Legal Eagle was odd, but was willing to back her until I finally went into her Insta and Twitter (before she purged a lot of those posts). Even went further until I discovered she had a habit of deleting evidence, and saw in real time her doing it again as accusations came out.
So I can understand if doing the research is daunting, but it’s really worth it in the mist of drama.
