Another fine example of Mr. Åhman not only be a master craftsman, but also a family man. Gifting the completed pendant to his daughter was a lovely end to another wonderfully enjoyable and engaging video. Keep up the great work and thankyou for allowing us to see over your shoulder.

As an aspiring hobby blacksmith in the very early stages of learning, I am constantly in awe of the way you break down such complicated forms into seemingly simple steps. Thank you for being a constant source of inspration with your dedication to the craft.
@@torbjornahman This is exactly what my dad tought me. If you find a problem too complicated to solve "at one go", divide it into smaller steps untill each step will be simple enough to make it without too much effort. The most difficult part of this process (in any craft) is to learn how to divide a problem. And this is something you learn from others, on your own mistakes and with time 😊 And with time (a lot of it usually), you become a master of your craft. Thank you for sharing your beautiful craft!
J’adore tes vidéos et cette ambiance de forge tout en douceur… maintenant que je suis à la retraite, je vais essayer de forger sans penser à la rentabilité…. Ahah 😅
In 1960, one of the first things I ever knitted (maybe the first, I don't remember for sure as I was only 4) was a scarf for my father for Christmas. He died a year ago at age 97 and that scarf was still in his closet. The ultimately knitworthy recipient. I made him many sweaters, socks and stockings over the years but the one project he held onto until the end was that first one. A few years later, one of his first woodworking projects was to make me a bookcase. I can't imagine it anywhere but right next to my reading/crafting/computer chair, holding my current reference books, my current reading books and my current handwork projects. Somehow it is always just the right size and I will never let it go.
Love your videos, love how you don’t have any loud garish music playing over your videos, so calming. You live in a very beautiful part of the world also. 😊
Nicely crafted, a work of art from a small piece of flat bar. This is what I like about this channel. Everyone enjoys a good knife or axe making video, but the village blacksmiths of old made everything from practical tools to more decorative items. They were the local fabrication shop.
I think those of us who intentively follow your channel, know we are in for a treat when when of your videos shows up your skill never ceases to amaze us, and i was sitting on the edge of my seat when you were forging the tips, and then when your started to make the scrolls, control of the heat was so masterful, this whole process, shows how efficient forging is with no wasted material it is also obvious from many of the comments, many people are inspired by your generosity in sharing these videos and recording what is required to keep these traditions going.... a job well done it was a great gift for your daughter, and seeing both your radiant smiles, brought a few tears to my eyes. I hope you and your family have a great and safe Christmas Andrew, from the UK
I watch your videos and no matter what is going on in the world, it all fades away and lets me relax. Your work is beautiful, and your skill is amazing, thanks for sharing!
Watching from Maine USA. Thank you for having the original sound in your video. It’s so educational to hear the taps, the pressures you use. Your craftsmanship is astonishing. There is absolutely nothing like watching a skilled maker execute a work. The only thing better would be to actually be in the room. Beautiful.
Great blacksmith, artist, father. Your little princess has a gift of a lifetime from you. She will always remember you when her beautiful eyes look at it. Totally Åwesome video!
Patience and a lot of skill. You are a master of your trade. Thank you for these inspiring videos. The quality of the videos themselves is excellent too.
That is so special. Thank you for sharing (once again) your skill and dedication. And also this time the moment you handed the gift over. That could become a family piece handed down over many generations.
Why do i think AI will never replicate this? The story line, skill at making a fire. Thinking of making a perfectly useless but beautiful object. The raw power of being a maker, creative and growing mind acquiring new skill’s every day. Thanks for doing this it was enlightening to watch.
Very nice. I was blacksmith for a while in my youth and was making all sorts of lamps. Now I am old and maybe one day coming back. To make all sorts of lamps again 😊
ahahaha🤣 The moment it slipped away and made that tink-sound across the floor- you just groaned and it was so real, I felt it in my bones! Know that feeling, especially with small, fiddly things.
From scissors to pendants to little norse Gnomes you always come up with something new , great to watch and that symmetry is second to none Excellent present for your daughter, one she will cherish for a long time.
Torbjørn, you are thanking us for watching, but it's us who should thank you for creating! Beautifully pendant! (even though I at first you where making throwing stars). 😁
Awesome piece! Your daughter’s getting big. Those pesky boys will be coming around soon. You should tell her what I told my daughters: I don’t mind if they come by the house, where I can keep an eye on them 👀. But no car-dates until you’re 30. 😄
What a beautiful sight! Thank you so much for sharing. I can already picture myself setting up a blacksmith shop and diving into the artistry. Sending cheers from Alberta, Canada! 🍁
Its amazing how much skill these "simple" projects require to come out looking this good.
It's still basic forging, but you need to get everything symmetrical and equal in size, and that takes time and patience :)
@@torbjornahmanSir, I believe you are a Master of all things.
@torbjornahman you sir are an artist :)
The devil is in the details. No matter the size!
Confess. You made a test throw and it successfully stuck to the wall 😆😆😆
To be able to give a loved one something made by your own hands is more valuable than any gift bought, brilliant as ever 👏
Could not have said it better myself.
Another fine example of Mr. Åhman not only be a master craftsman, but also a family man. Gifting the completed pendant to his daughter was a lovely end to another wonderfully enjoyable and engaging video. Keep up the great work and thankyou for allowing us to see over your shoulder.
Great comment, I agree wholeheartedly 👍.
Thank you, it means a lot!
@@torbjornahman great job, thunderbear
4:25 that grumble as the brush flings the workpiece off the anvil is all too relatable. Lovely work.
the replay spike in the video progress bar makes me laugh. agreed - very relatable noise haha
Yeah, that was great!

Hope springs eternal. A symbol that stays with us always, whether we are allowed to say or show it or not.
Such a beautiful symbol
So it is a good luck charm, made with love 🥰✨
Such a beautiful pendant! I’m sure that your daughter will cherish it forever. I really love the idea of the blacksmith’s journal.
Great! Thanks

The best part is that the pendant will survive for many many years so she can gift it to her kids and her kids to their kids... and so on
There is nothing like seeing metal moving to your willl like that, just guided by the hammer. Beautiful work. ❤
Thank you! ❤
4:28 when the piece falls to the floor. I felt that grunt in my soul!
the best part was Tor putting the pendant on his daughter's neck! So good!
I almost cried at the end 😢 your greatest skill is being a dad, never stop working on that
I have a 2 years old daughter and your end videos are very nice to watch and very enjoyable. The work is top notch too 😊 congrats
Thank you!
Such a wholesome ending!
As always relaxing video, I'm amazed by your great skill and curious workpieces to show us.

Thanks!! And yes, I think the local village blacksmith was part time inventor and problem solver as well.
I am going back to the anvil to forge one of these. A nice Christmas gift for my wife ! 😘
Have fun!

What a sweet father. If only there were more of you in the world.
A wonderful reminder that projects don't need to be huge to be spectacular. Beautiful work as always.
Thank you for this! I now know what gift to forge for all my friends this holiday season! great video!!!
Perfect!
These small projects are deceivingly difficult. What a beautiful gift for your daughter. I am sure she will cherish it.
If you were to plate that in *pure gold* it would only serve to dull the beautiful workmanship. Awesome!
that would also make a beautiful christmas tree ornament.
Yes!
It’s so simple, and beautiful, and very complex to conceive. Watching your videos stretches my blacksmithing brain.
Something for her to cherish made with her father's own hands. Love it.
My son and I watched this one. I said, "I don't watch him to learn how to make stuff. I just enjoy watching an artist show off his skill sometimes."
Magic! Thanks for sharing. Your videos are #1 reason for watching youtube!!
This man is a good man, and a good father.
One miss hit with the chisel and game over, well done sir. Pleasure to watch as always.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Mind you seeing your daughter again made me realize how long I have been following you 😳 🙂
That's about as good as it gets, jewellery skills, blacksmithing skills, and Dad skills
Just turned it on with the highest expectations
Thanks your the Master
Man I'm used to seeing tired old wire brushes, but yours is on another level lol
Ha ha

The real beauty here is not the forging, it’s the recipient of the gift.
Selfmade - more valuable than gold! Great pendant!!! 🙂
