    The comment at 7:36 wanted to say: "it might have something to do with the new, thicker string set which is a bottom 62 instead of a 59 gauge". Gosh, really nothing works lately.

    Having tried both the stock Gibraltar and the Hipshot on the same guitar, I really wasn't convinced that the Hipshot was better. The Gibraltar is way superior design wise, open back saddles so no messing around while inserting the strings into the body, easy intonation adjustment because of the hex screws, taller saddles, base plate that matches the radius of the fretboard etc. The Hipshot surely feels heavier and better quality while holding but I didn't feel any tonal difference at all.

      I didn't hwar any improvement eother...Gibraltar is a great bridge. Hipshot looks badass, though. Purely cosmetic, imo.

      I've tried a gibraltar equipped guitar several times, I find that palm muting is always really uncomfortable because of that sharp corner on the side that sticks out. I much prefer the normal hardtail ibanez bridge that's on the gios. Never tried a hipshot, but it looks very similar to the gio hardtail

    Cool video. I think the stock bridge (Gibraltar II) is actually a really good bridge to begin with, although it seems like the hipshot one may be even slightly more comfortable, which is great. I think the hipshot does look cooler though, so that's a big win!

      the biggest problem of Gibraltar II is, like me living in Hong Kong, the humid weather will let the bridge oxidized within a half year. Even if it is your ibanez is a prestige series, the bridge installed is the normal Gibraltar II with the same material.

    Have no idea whether recording conditions were the same for both pre- and after replacement, but i could hear very noticeable sound difference in the video. Hipshot bridge sounds sharper and has tighter low end, while gibraltar sounds more round and mid focused. I'm seriously considering replacing bridge on my Ibanez now=)

    • @MilianMalivukMusic

      Recording setup was 100% identical, however the string gauge was different and could've "falsified" the result! I personally hear a tiny difference now after listening a few times, I can't feel a tonal difference however when playing.

  • @derrickbillups5770
    @derrickbillups5770 Рік тому

    some friendly advice come if you're going to cut your strings anyway, don't unravel the strings all the way off the post. You're just wasting energy when you can unraveled warm loop to get the string tension off the neck and then and then just simply snipple around where the nut is This way you don't have to do so many twists with the tunein post

      Also depends on your budget I guess... Can't go wrong with a Prestige. In my opinion Kiesels are killer price/performance if you keep the specs reasonable and performance focused (not going for a 400$ top wood and such but let's say a solid finish)

      Take a look at ABM guitar parts. Most likely you look for 3210b they're 20€ each. But have a look at hole distances - you may need to move the ABM bridges to maintain your intonation and scale length.

      Dethsyndrome Offical Hi, no the 7321 have the flatplate bridge, you can get a direct fit replacement though also from Hipshot!

    I'm not in anyway a fan of Hipshot bridges!!! Personally, I would have just stuck with the factory bridge or went with a Shaller Hannes bridge.
    I honestly do not see why so many people like Hipshot?? This is coming from a Floyd Rose lover and long time user of them.
    I guess it just boils down to, "To each their own!!".....

    Isnt a fair tone comparison, since you changed the strings

    It's just a bridge. It won't sound different, it'll just look and feel different as well as last longer. The cheap metal Ibanez uses even on the prestige stuff isn't very good.
