    Thanx for highlighting that we need to order the 0.175"/4.5mm version of the Hipshot.

    I've got one of these coming in later this week. It lead me to your channel which is awesome and deserves more exposure.

    Just bought one, super playable for a 6 string player. It shreds and everything else it's supposed to do. Minor fit and finish stuff but I couldn't care less, it plays great. Can't wait to start my mods in the New Year.

    Great job. The only changes I'd make would be to sand the finish off the back of the bridge plate (if possible) at the point of contact of the grounding wire, for better grounding contact, and secondly to use a piece of tape on the drill bit to mark the required depth for the pilot holes (measured against the screws). Overall look is awesome, esp with those kickass knobs!

    My gloss black/maple fretboard came with a Hipshot style bridge from the factory.... would be a direct upgrade but it's fine. Had no idea they came with different style bridges.

    Hey dude! Thanks a bunch for this video! Do you happen to know if a 0.59 hex wrench would work on this Hipshot bridge? I mean, for lowering action per string... Thanks in advance!

    Just got my first 7 string in this guitar, a month back. Anyone know of a bridge that I can replace, to accommodate a whammy bar as well?
    Thanks in advance!
    The tuners feel light and cheap, but I haven't had any issues with tuning, stays well in tune and I switch a lot between Standard, Drop D and Drop C.

    The only issue I have with the JS22-7 is the tuners are a bit doodoo. Other than that the pickups on mine are actually fantastic for stock ones, but still want to swap em out with some actives when I get the chance.

      Sperzel EZ-Mounts! Super easy to install, work great, and don’t need to be specially ordered for the 3x4 headstock! I haven’t been digging actives lately... but that’s just me! Cheers -Ryan

      Yeah actives FTW when it comes to metal. The best part of actives is the reduces feedback. Such an overlooked aspect of them. People are always comparing sound but neglect the fact that they allow you to turn your distortion up to the sky without squealing and hissing the moment you stop touching the strings. Crystal clear signal

    The .125 version is bad cause the neck on this guitar is bit angled? .125 would do good on lets say Ibanez? I don't wanna try to get one (bit of a problem where i live) just to see that i got the wrong one. Thanks in advance...again.

    Is the thickness of the bridge specific to the 7 string or same thing with js22 6 string?

    What’s up brother great video. Maybe you can help me. I have the regular unfinished js22 6 string with the tremolo bar (dive bar only not Floyd style). I would like to get this bridge for it. Will the measurement be the same except for a 6 string?

    • @Crypticmaskguitar

      I would check with Hipshot... I'm not familiar with the other bridge type you have... it may have a sustain block to it so you might need a different bridge. Cheers -Ryan

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 роки тому +3

      Glad you subscribed! You’d want to get the .175 because it will actually clear your fretboard and frets. Otherwise you would have too low of action on your guitar. Cheers -Ryan

      @Crypticmaskguitar  2 роки тому +1

      Some have used the .125 and have had success, while others have the action too low. It’s what is recommended… might be alright either way. But it would suck to have it not work out. Cheers -Ryan

    What is the model number of that bridge? All the ones I've found on Hipshot's website have angle holes for the strings with no in-line options and would require me to drill new holes for the strings. I don't want to do that and would rather have one where the holes line up.

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  3 роки тому

      41075... the "In Lined" ones are for Ibanez Guitars. Jackson doesn't have "In Lined" holes they are slightly angled. But if you are trying to upgrade an Ibanez then you'd want the Ibby Series. Cheers -Ryan

    My Jackson Pro Misha Mansoor HT6QM CB guitar doesn't have a grounding wire to the bridge. Is that normal?

    • @Crypticmaskguitar
      @Crypticmaskguitar  2 роки тому +1

      Jackson may have some Grounding Plates in the body itself, rather than in the Bridge. They used to do that on some of their guitars.Basically they would put some screws into the body and that is where the ground was. If you follow your wiring with your pickups removed you should be able to see it a little clearer. Cheers -Ryan

      @@Crypticmaskguitar Thanks very much for the tip! Appreciated!
      Unfortunately there is no continuity on my multimeter between the outputjack ground and the bridge. Between everything else there is though (volume pot, pickups, bridge pin under the pickup etc.) but there is no hole going towards the bridge. No cables going there or such. I don't see anything and I can't measure any ground for the bridge

    I got mine on the President's Day deal last year - even in B-standard, I was unable to intonate the 1st string even though I put .060s on. Did you notice intonation issues before installing the bridge, and if so did the Hipshot alleviate them? I'd like to be able to increase the gauge and go to Drop F without having to buy a whole new guitar, but where the saddles currently are that's not a possibility.

    • @Crypticmaskguitar

      I got one of these and YES I am have intonation problems with mine. On mine the bridge is too far back, meaning I can't intonate it because I can't move the saddles far enough forward! I am out of screw threads and still can't get them to go far enough toward the neck. I've checked, measured and measured again and I've come to the conculsion that they put the bridge on about 1/2 inch too far BACK! Im tuning in A# with 11-66 strings. You'd think I would need to move the saddles back like most people but no, not with mine, because they put the damn bridge too far back. I can't properly intonate any of the strings. I got them mostly correct but only when your playing 1-12 frets. Anything after that is way way flat. It was a B stock guitar too. Now I see why.
