- City were beaten at the Etihad Stadium for the first time this season as Brentford's Ivan Toney scored twice including a dramatic injury-time winner.
The Bees striker had given the visitors the lead in the 16th minute before Phil Foden levelled on the stroke of half-time with a stunning equaliser.
City pushed for a winner with Joao Cancelo and Rodri forcing saves from David Raya but they were caught on the break deep in injury time when Toney swept in a late winner.
It brought an end to a run of 15 consecutive home victories in all competitions and means we will go into a break for the World Cup second in the Barclays Premier League.

Great play by Brentford. Even though i am a Man UTD supporter, have to admit the Quality of Man City team is unbelievable. The way they fight for the win is what differentiates Champions and players.

Can we just talk about Haaland defending against Brentford's winner? He wins the header off the corner, Brentford breaks and he doesn't budge at the top of the box. But then...he sprints the entire length and is in position for a potential block on the final cross in his own box. Insane speed. 8:50

As a Liverpool fan myself, i clearly didnt expect this result. The way Brentford gave them a run for their money is outta this world. But City's gameplay is so smooth, professional and world class.

Stones played terrible, he couldn't catch up with the wingers and that pass he did to Haaland (1:44) when he was surrounded by defenders, idk what was runnning in his head. needs to be sold honestly, he doesn't create good opportunities and he doesn't have the pace to defend. it was evident with brentford's wing attacks and that last goal. Haaland, the striker, makes the run and not Stones. what does that say about his dedication?

Haaland was fast enough to literally place himself as stopper, but unfortunately due his lack of defensive experience he didn’t place himself in the way of the cross’s projected trajectory. A solid defender would’ve kicked that out at worst to a corner kick.
