- A special mid-week Sabbath Sunday where we discuss the breaking news that Black Sabbath will play a final show with all four original members.
I'm so glad Bill will be included. He definitely deserves it.
They are doing it for their community. Wonderful charities receive the profits. I think it’s awesome. 🤘🏻
You guys should upload these Sabbath Sunday shows to the Into the Void podcast. They’d fit perfectly and would give you more episodes. Love the podcast btw.
Thanks man! Yeah, we talked about that. It would be cool to at least keep the Sabbath related stuff in one place.
Appreciate the honesty. It probably won’t sound good and it won’t look good. 😢 Indeed.
I won’t be surprised if Ozzy dies before it happens. Then it becomes a tribute concert already scheduled.
I also would be willing to bet Bill Ward doesn’t end up playing.
Incredible how fast the time goes. I saw the Jan 1999 thing and I thought Ozzy and Bill were complete toast even back then!
Ozzy sings 3 solo songs along to a tape sitting on a throne like chair.
Sabbath comes out and Ozzy sings 4 Sabbath songs (Iron Man, Paranoid, War Pigs and Black Sabbath) to a tape sitting on a throne like chair.
You are most definitely right.
Back in 1984 when everyone wanted to see them reunited it never happened . Now that they are old and weary they can't keep away from each other.
I wish they would make an album
Hi guys ! I’ve just discovered your podcast and your you tube channel and I’m slowly working and enjoying my way through your podcasts and black sabbath Sundays .please keep making them! I’m 51 now and have been a black sabbath fan since I was 9 years old . I live in Scotland and would love to sit down with you guys and have a beer and talk about black sabbath for hours. I’ve such mixed feelings about this gig . I managed to see ozzy with sabbath on the last two tours of the uk and the band were just great and ozzy’s voice was great and he was very animated on stage . I couldn’t have faulted anything about their performances. The ticket prices for this event has just been announced and the tickets are very expensive- £395 for a standing ticket . I don’t think it’s a cash grab at all but I’m sure most ‘ normal fans’ will struggle to buy a ticket especially if you add in transport and accommodation .I’m sure the gig will still sell out in minutes regardless of the cost of tickets etc . I agree it will be great to see bill ward up there as I felt he should have been there for the end tour . Hopefully the gig will be streamed - I know I’ll definitely watch that probably with a box of tissues as this time it really feels like ‘ the end’ . I look forward to hearing your take on the whole experience! Taje care !
Thanks for listening to the podcast and the kind words. We really appreciate it! Yeah, we should've mentioned, this is a charity event. Proceeds are going to some great charities. I personally have nothing but good feelings about this, as I said, I think it's great that the guys are getting together one last time to say goodbye to the fans. ❤
It would be great if Ian Gillan & Tony Martin could be there and do a couple of their songs. With Sharon involved highly unlikely though!!
They both have voice issues now. Glenn is still touring though.
@@mojobag01 Yeah I forgot about Glenn Hughes! Good cal!
Well that's not going to happen it's just about the original lineup
Big agree
@@Iainmaclennan70 Ozzy doesn't consider any of those other guys has Black Sabbath
Amazing! I hope it happens...
Jake E Lee will be there, which is surprising.
Yep, sure is. That's very cool!
I'd like to see Bill and Tony go back to before the beginning after this and do something similar to their pre-Sabbath band Mythology . More blues / jazz / improvisation based .
I think it would be great if they could make an album with Bill put out something that will be long lasting
Sounds almost like it'll be a mini version of Live Aid, close to exactly 40 years later.
I have never seen Sabbath live, I know, I'm such a poser. :D Seems like I'm not going to. I hope they'll live stream it at least.
Love your channel. Showed me so much great metal the last ten years.
my expectation is it will be like the metal version of the Freddy Mercury/Taylor Hawkins tribute shows which I am fine with - could be great! I have very limited expectations of what Ozzy can actually do due to his health. Even if he is just there and we sing for him I'll be happy. It will no way be like the Ozzy we knew. The last proper show he did was Download in 18 and so lets just enjoy anything. Ozzy did the commonwealth end of show in Brum and lets be honest he lip synced. That was 22. even if it is metal karaoke with the best backing band ever I'm cool with that. He has done nothing since 18
Billy Corgan was influenced by Iomma and played track with him in past. Some of Corgans riffs have Sabbath influence
Who's Iomma? Never heard of them.
@@shaunfulton7261 lol
Unfortunately I just don't see this actually happening. After seeing how bad of shape Ozzy was in at his solo induction at the RHOF I just can't imagine him being able to do it. He couldn't stand up, his shaking from Parkinson's disease and seemed he could barely speak. Why I love the idea of it the reality of being able to pull it off is doubtful imo.
If he's alive he will be sitting in a chair miming if he's even able to open his mouth, but id say they will have some way of not showing his mouth up close. If he dies Sharon will probably still put his corpse in that chair for the last big pay out.
I agree Ozzy and Bill won't make it.
That was quick!😄
Big news! 🎉😊
Fred Durst? Why?
I think they should put on their never say die
Great that they are going up one last time but I don’t see why I should get excited about them doing a small set in another country. The End tour was the end and I was fine with that. Maybe it’s just me but I would find it kinda strange if they put the set out on dvd after the last one was specifically billed as “the final performance”. What would the say about this one. “Well this is the final final performance so buy the dvd”.
I too was underwhelmed by the 13 album but it is fine enough to go out on that note and the tour was great
Iommi and Geezer will be fine. Bill will stumble through it, just, but Ozzy will rely on backing tracks while being ducked to tape to something to make him look relatively mobile. I am happy they are doing it, but I am not expecting anything memorable.
Those other bands will probably cover some Sabbath songs not in their own set. Remember Pantera has already done Planet Caravan and Metallica has done Sabra Cadabra.
Ozzy will struggle just to get through 3 songs,I don't see him not turning over the vocals to someone else,if they play more then 3 songs
Get the original singer from Count Raven, currently in Lord Vicar. Dude is a dead ringer for Ozzy
Pay per view 100 bucks,im in.
One final cash grab for Sharon! Still, I'd attend if I could. Greatest band ever.
ALL profit goes to 3 local Birmingham charities. People who are not Brummies need to understand that The Sabbs have been talking about performing at Villa Park for over 30 years, it's been their dream. They were all born in roads around the ground and forming the band in Aston. It is well documented that they are huge Villa fans and this is as much about Aston Villa as it is about Sabbath. Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler shunned a civic reception, and insisted on accepted their 'Birmingham walk of fame' awards on the Villa Park pitch at half time during a game a few years ago, rather than attend the proposed civic reception at The Birmingham Council Houses Geezer lives and breathes AV and if anyone has pushed for this it will have been him, not Sharon. ALL profits go to Birmingham Charities, one being The Acorns Children's charity supported by AVFC.. UTV and Sabbath forever.
Come on call it a decade already Ozzy in a walker finished with my ah ah ah whats the fucking words S H A R O N
I hope they do this right and don't make it into a self parody and a sideshow.
They deserve a righteous sendoff by the fans.
They gave us 55 years of their lives, least we can do is give them a proper sendoff.
I hope this goes off without a hitch.
They are the originators and we thank them.
I really hope this happens.
All four deserve it.
Conceptually, this is awesome! But, the reality is not going to be great, I’m guessing. Being a diehard Sabbath fan and still being realistic, I feel they missed the train on The End tour. Bill could’ve came up for the last four to six songs. If streamed, as MANY of us hope, I will be expecting a train wreck. But, hoping to be proven wrong. I feel the rest of the festival is totally stacked. Looks fantastic!
I agree or even the tour before that one after they released 13. Bill actually should have been on the last album and then do a few songs each night or any night be was able. But Sharon was too greedy to pay him his share.
I'd rather they play a set totally live, no backing tracks at all. Even if it sucks. Backing tracks would be a joke.
Not the biggest hit, but can we assume they will include Never Say Die?
That was on my wish list
Absolutely no chance whatsoever.
@ Well....prolly better chance than some horns and Breakout! But yr probably right.
I think it's designed to be like the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in that guests will perform alongside the band. This frees up Ozzy and Bill if they are not able to do a full set. I'm guessing Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, Tony Martin and Vinny Appice will also be in attendance.
Absolutely no chance of them being there. 🙄
You’re wild for thinking 8 songs, I’d guess max of 3 Sabbath songs. Five is a pipe dream. Ozzy will be autotuned off his gourd. Bill will be a wildcard. War Pigs, Iron Man, Paranoid, out.
I said 5 songs, maybe 6 max. You could be right, it might only be 3 but I don't think that would be acceptable considering the magnitude of this event.
Touting a "reunion" of the original 4 and only doing 3 songs could cause a riot.
Backing tracks, auto tune will most likely abound, but realistically, there are few singers his age that can belt it out properly let alone having Parkinsons.
Glenn Hughes and Gillan, while both still great, are starting to sound winded. Gillan, more so than Hughes, but Gillan gives it 100% and still brings it in spite of being 78 yrs old.
This being the final show is it too much to hope that the likes of Ian Gillan or Tony Martin or Vinnie Appice might be there and get up on stage for a tune?
Did you not see ozzy at his hall of fame induction ? He can’t walk. He hasn’t been moving on stage very well for over 10 years. he’ll be sitting most likely. he will also be lip syncing.
Poor bill had trouble playing during their last reunion and that was in 2005.
They’ll play a very short set. 4-5 songs. The easier songs to drum on.
It would be amazing if Bill sang “it’s alright”.
C'mon. Ozzy can't stand up and hasn't been able to sing for years. It's sad but it's reality. I really wish they would have gotten back together after DIO died and actually been a real working band writing songs and releasing albums. Instead we get nothing for years execept a mediocre thrown together album. It reminds me of Van Halen. so many wasted years. Oh, well. We got what we got and it's great. Rock on.
Why are people so critical? I look at it this way you’ve been playing with a band since the 60s and you want to retire with them if they’ve agreed to this this means they prepared to play whatever they feel they can play I don’t think it’s gonna be 10 songs I think it’s gonna be more just abbreviated with a couple special guest helping outas a fan of metal my whole life and as a young person, I’m excited for this 2017 was not a proper farewell.
And i think john will be wrong, they will end with paranoid because its upbeat and they Will want to go out on a happy cheering note, with the crowd singing the whole song, the most well known Sabbath song.
This is awesome news but I still think it's 50/50 if it happens. I'm sure there's probably a stand in for Bill waiting in the wings. And I could do without the Rap metal guys.
I would rather see Black Sabbath with Tony Martin or Glen Hughs. With Ozzy they only play the radio hits.
Tickets far too expensive. Not worth it. Glad Bill is back though.

I live in Brum, half an hour from the stadium. Ozzy isn't a football fan at all, and he's never even been to a match at Aston Villa. It's only Geezer who is a fan.
@@shaunfulton7261 you might be my neighbour then, as I live in Aldridge half an hour from the stadium and used to walk to all home matches from 1966 until I lived here. Geezer is the ultimate fan even declaring to a US cop "go ahead and shoot, I'll die for Aston Villa", but there were pictures of Ozzy wearing Villa t-shirts during the 70's and stories of him attending matches with his dad.
@@SteveBishop-r9x I've read interviews where Ozzy has stated he has no interest in sport. Several people who knew him have said the same this week, and in a Planet Rock UA-cam interview (Tony Iommi & Sharon Osbourne: Black Sabbath's Villa Park final gig) Sharon confirms that he's never been inside Villa Park. I know someone who met Sabbath and when he mentioned Villa to Iommi he pointed at Geezer and said "He's the football fan".
Bummer Priest is playing that Scorpions 60th anniversary thing on July 5. Bad timing
Ozzy did an nfl half time show and it was horrible. Backing tracks big time.
Ozzy aint singin shit. Surely he'll just mime it.
I might be in the minority here, but no, i actually don't want this. Awesome as the premise might be. Ozzy cannot stand up straight, Blll cannot sit up straight. I agree with John it will be a circus.
Rather just remember them throuh their great albums at this point. Dont want to see a very unhealthy Ozzy struggling on stage. The rest of the opening bands are just another glorified version of an Ozzfest.
I agree, we don't need all these other bands kissing Ozzy's ring just Sabbath alone will do nicely.
@@LarryFleetwood8675 if anything, Deep Purple and Uriah Heep should have been brought along.
@ Yes, a good idea.
Sharon will probably be making aston villa football kits with black sabbath on them. She trying to get at the football market aswell. If they put her on a shirt now she would look like iron maidens Eddie she looks that awful.
You are about a year behind the times mate. Villa have been coming on to the pitch to Sabbath songs at their matches for over 10 years, the club released a Villa shirt with Sabbath on it at their Champions league match with Bayern Munich a few months back. Sabbath have wanted to play Villa Park for over 30 years... and now their dream is realised. Villa and Sabbath have been intertwined since Sabbath's inception.
No DIO, no Sabbath. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
But he was not an original member, so that is not relevant.
i just have a feeling its going to be embarasing and cringeworthy
