    Great video. Thanks. Have you ever tried a seat-harness? I only use seat-harness on the big sails. You have more pressure in the sail and your back is protected, less back pain.

      I have once. Planing in the straps it was really comfortable and felt I could hold more power down. I think it would be great in steady wind days. I often am in gusts and I like the ability to standup in the lulls, still be hooked in and using the harness for some counter balance. Hook height to Boom and harness length is really different between waist and seat harness systems. Different techniques I guess based on my limited experience in a seat harness. I haven'e had any back issues in my waist harness, but good to know of a cure for that with the seat harness. Thanks for watching!

    Nice video, the Carve is a really good board, I have the 139 Carve and also ride a lot with a 27 Delta fin in shallow water.👍

    Nice session Jake... but that ain't cold brother compared to the single digits we had up north here last week. Still cold this week but not as bad as last. You get some new gear or you just trying it out? S-Fox is supposed to eat chop like a piranha!

      @@Drumbuoy545 yeah the Fox is new. Only the second time I have had it on the water. Very happy with it. Yeah, I know I am spoiled with this warm in comparison water. 😝

    Mast is for "ego" view - Helmet is pure POV -Boom is the most impressive. So what's your best camera angle?
    Thanks for sharing!

    • @gusthunterwindsurfing
      @gusthunterwindsurfing  8 днів тому

      I really like Boom mount. I'm working on a longer mount off the back of the boom for the camera to get a more follow along sort of low flying drone view. Lastest attempt was a bit of a bust. Too loose of mounting system but working on a better mount. Thanks for watching!

    I think that's a little narrower than the Blast 145 (77cm) and I use either a 44cm or 47cm weed with it. The 47 is a lot more suitable for the 9.5. I've gotten it going with those and a straight select 43 but it's really touchy with a sail that big. I prefer the 44cm though because the big 47 is like a can opener sticking out of the back of the board.

    • @gusthunterwindsurfing
      @gusthunterwindsurfing  15 днів тому

      Yeah, that is a can opener! I thought I would over power the 42, but it was fine in that lightish wind. More wind may prove unbalanced, but I do have a larger weed fin and straight fins 46-48. Only other time I have rode it was with a 7.5 and a 26 straight. So far I really like the Fox!

    Looks good Jake, looks like you're enjoying your 140 Fox. Wonder how much wind/chop you could take that out on, with smaller sails. Maybe down to 5.5?

      I have not had a chance to find out, only sailed it twice now at this flat water location. But advertising has it being a chop eater! It does have a significant vee in the bottom of it, so that has to be something. Sometime this winter I should have it in some good chop and will find out. Thanks for watching!

    Jake, I've been thinking of getting a Carve for awhile, but lately I seen the Fox or Tabou Rocket, if you had to choose between Carve or Fox...?

    • @gusthunterwindsurfing
      @gusthunterwindsurfing  15 днів тому

      Well, I have only gotten to rid the Fox 140L twice, but really like it. My Carve is a 169L. So do to size difference I don't think it is a fair comparison. Both have premium construction quality. If you were able to ride a Carve 139L and a Fox 140L that would be a good comparison. I have not had a chance to do this but will if I get a chance. I know a guy who rides the 139 Carve. Anyway, If you are looking in that 140-145 range, the new Doutone Blast 145L would be a contender too. All 3 are great boards. Sorry not much help after all the above.
