Utopia is my favorite episode of Doctor Who ever. The first time I watched through the show, I really liked it up to that episode and I remember being the most intrigued by the Time War and last of the time lords plotline every time we saw a glimpse of the Doctor’s grief and Utopia and the two-parter following it is when it shot up to one of my all time favorite shows.
My series 3 ranking: 42 The Shakespeare code: Lazarus experiment Daleks in Manhattan Evolution of the daleks Smith and jones Human nature Family of blood Sound of drums: Last of the time lords Utopia: we need Derek Voyage of the dammed Gridlock Blink

The last time you ranked the Doctors, you had Tennant kind of middle of the pack and your main criticism of him was that he was too human. But I think he shows in Human Nature/Family of Blood how different his Doctor is from being human. I love the moment when he shows the Family that he is no longer John Smith and back to being the Dictor.
I'll have a go: 1. Human Nature/The Family of Blood 2. Blink 3. Smith and Jones 4. The Shakespeare Code 5. Utopia/The Sound of Drums/The Last of the Time Lords 6. The Lazarus Experiment 7. "The Daleks Take Manhattan" (as I call it) 8. Gridlock 9. 42
I tried to watch Doctor Who in Season 1 and wasn't sold then saw Blink (when it was on) because my husband insisted I try it one more time and it sold me, so I totally agree with it being a good test episode
Series 3 is one of my favorites! Quite Bad 10. The Lazarus Experiment 9. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks Okay 8. The Shakespeare Code Pretty Good 7. 42 Good 6. Smith & Jones Really Good 5. Gridlock 4. The Runaway Bride Great 3. Human Nature/The Family of Blood Excellent 2. Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords 1. Blink
@@elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770 It actually used to be really low in my ranking of seasons, but the more I watch it the more I appreciate it. While it has a few of my favorite episodes, it also has a couple of my least favorite as well. It's far from perfect.
My second favourite Series of NewWho. I would even call this the most consistent Series of NewWho for me, even the weakest episodes I find good elements in. 10. Daleks In Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 9. The Shakespeare Code 8. The Lazarus Experiment 7. 42 6. Blink 5. Smith and Jones 4. Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords 3. Gridlock 2. Utopia 1. Human Nature/Family of Blood
Tell you something funny about season 3 is the only season all 3 showrunners of New doctor who episode by rtd Steven Moffat and charis chibnall with Smith and Jones blink and 42 that is pretty cool
most of SEASON three is missing, SERIES three has some truely awesome moments (and yes, it matters, as there is a 26 season 7 doctor run before this, and if you count it as one long story this is SEASON 29!!!)
Series 3 has perhaps my favorite second half. It also has one of my all time favorite two-parters (Human Nature/Family of Blood) and my all-time worst two-parters (Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks).
Henry in NorCal I agree, and thought the exact same thing, but, series 4 has Silence in the Library 2 parter, midnight, turn left and the stolen earth 2 parter. I do prefer series 4, but series 3 is criminally underrated. I think there’s only one truly bad episode in season 3 in the Lazarus Experiment.
1) Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords 2) Human Nature/Family of Blood 3) Blink 4) Smith and Jones 5) Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 6) Gridlock 7) Shakespeare Code 8) 42 9) Lazarus Experiment
The thing I loved about Smith and Jones was the Judoon are also the villains in the story as well as not being necessarily evil, they are just doing there jobs, but they do a few bad things as well.

Great video and fully in tune with my rankings, lovely to see Human Nature taking your top spot. I still recall the excitement of just hearing that the captivating 1990s New Adventures novel was going to be adapted as a TV two-parter for season three, and thinking what a splendid idea that was, the perfect template to demonstrate the new maturity of Doctor Who's storytelling. And despite the ultimate differences between the two versions, boy did it deliver...
10. The Lazarus Experiment 9. The Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 8. 42 7. Gridlock 6. Utopia 5. The Shakespeare Code 4. The Sound of the Drums/The Last of the Time Lords (Second Part dragging it down) 3. Smith and Jones 2. Human Nature/The Family of Blood 1. Best to worst: Blink Human Nature/Family of Blood Utopia The Shakespeare Code Gridlock 42 Smith and Jones Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks The Lazerus Experiment The Sound of Drums/ Last of the Timelords
What the actual f**k? The Sound Of Drums / The Last Of The Timelords are one of the most epic episodes i ever saw. Well it had many plot holes and nonsense resurrection of The Doctor. But it's nowhere near the bottom. The character moments and music is absolutely on top.
My ranking: 1. Human Nature/Family of Blood 2. Blink 3. 42 4. Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords 5. Gridlock 6. Smith and Jones 7. Utopia 8. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 9. Lazarus Experiment 10. Shakespeare Code

Honestly, even though I didn't fully watch Blink before starting the series, I do think it helped get me to watch the show in the first place. I remember watching clips from it on youtube and being fascinated by it, and funnily enough in my head I had the idea that Sally and Larry were the Doctor's companions, and in Sally's case I'm kinda sad that didn't turn out to be the case.
My ranking is as follows worst to best 9) 42 8) The Lazarus Experiment 7) Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 6) The Shakespeare Code 5) Smith and Jones 4) Gridlock 3) Blink 2) Human Nature/The Family of Blood 1) Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords 1. I count the finale as a 3-parter due to them having lots of connections. 2. None of these episodes are bad except ‘42’ which is just boring with nothing going for it.
1. Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords 2. Utopia 3. Gridlock 4. Human Nature/Family of Blood 5. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks (5 1/2. The Runaway Bride) 6. Blink 7. Smith and Jones 8. The Shakespeare Code 9. 42 10. The Lazarus Experiment
I kinda liked the evolution of the daleks but I do see your points it has its issues. I’d switch 42 with evolution, but that’s just me. Another great video :)
Blink is a great test episode. It was the first episode my sister showed me, and it hooked me enough to watch back to series 2. Satan Pit (both parts) turned me into a fan that went back to series 1!
Season 3 REALLY went hard when it wanted to. There's 2-3 clunkers, and the finale is a little anticlimactic, but in my opinion the rest of the series is so brilliant and is evidence of the writers really hitting their stride as they go into Season 4 (which is my favourite season, over all). The one reason why I feel like it's kinda overlooked, at least by a lot of people *I've met*, is because of the whole Martha/Doctor dynamic. Such a damn shame, honestly. Forcing her to pine so much, and establishing her as the rebound companion really just felt uncomfortable, and undeserved in the first few episodes (at least to me) and didn't make sense at all - and although she was strong and amazing in the latter half, the satisfaction of that kinda falls flat for me with how the Doctor reacts, just WASN'T worth constantly diverting so much screentime, to forcing this weird dynamic between them. I can see what they were going for, but I don't think it worked as well as it should have. But maybe I'm just being bias, because I'm a Martha Stan and really wished she had reached her full potential. Because I certainly think there were ways to do what they were trying to do with the rebound stuff, without kinda getting in the way of everything else. Anyways, my ranking! > 42 > The Lazarus Experiment > The Shakespeare Code > Last of the Timelords > Evolution of the Daleks > Daleks in Manhattan > Sound of Drums > Smith and Jones > Gridlock > Utopia > Blink > Human Nature > Family of Blood
Absolutely agree with thw top 3, Human Nature is definitely in my top 5 Dr Who stories (although I'm still making through classic who from the start so that still has to be finalised).
This was so hard to judge because this series is nearly perfect in my opinion, but I SOMEHOW managed to come up with a list I'm happy with! 10. Lazarus Experiment 9. Shakespeare Code 8. 42 7. Gridlock 6. Utopia 5. Smith and Jones 4. Human Nature/Family of Blood 3. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 2. Blink 1. Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords
10) Daleks in Manhattan & Evolution of the Daleks 9) The Shakespeare Code 8) Gridlock 7) Smith and Jones 6) The Lazarus Experiment 5) 42 4) Utopia 3) Human Nature & The Family of Blood 2) The Sound of Drums & Last of the Time Lords 1) Blink
Ahhh, my overall favourite season of new-Who ... Human Nature, Family of Blood, Blink, Utopia .... FOUR episodes IN A ROW of the VERY HIGHEST quality .... This was RTD and the writers at the height of their powers, and Tennant was on another planet ... Literally. His acting was incredible. Back when this series aired I was in a VERY good place in my life ... So that, combined with the excitement I felt for the show, plus early internet anticipation and discussions about Saxon possibly being the Master ... all combined to make this an experience I'll never forget. Series 3 seemed to be watched by EVERYONE in the UK ... even people I KNEW hated shows like Doctor Who were watching it and discussing it on Monday morning at work ... THIS was the series where the show went above and beyond what I thought was possible in terms of popularity, and it would stay up there for several more years.
10- Lazarus Experiment 9- Shakespeare Code 8- 42 7- Blink 6- Gridlock 5- Smith and Jones 4- Daleks Take Manhattan/ Evolution 3- Sound of the Drums/ Last of the Time Lords 2- Utopia 1- Human Nature/ Family of Blood
I sat through Smith and Jones, The Shakespeare Code and Gridlock and thought "This is going to be the best season ever!". Well, not quite, but barring a few episodes, it was a very strong season. Martha became my favorite companion to that point (and still is today) because of her intelligence, her resourcefulness and yes, her beauty. And I think Human Nature/Family of Blood is the BEST Doctor Who episode ever, in the history of the show.
My ranking (best to worst - I like all series 3 episodes though) 1- Utopia 2 - Human Nature/The Family of Blood 3 - Blink 4 - Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords 5 - Gridlock 6 - Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 7 - The Shakespeare Code 8 - 42 9 - Smith and Jones 10 - The Lazarus Experiment
My ratings for season 3... 10/10 Blink 9/10 Utopia 8/10 The Sound of Drums 7/10 Gridlock, Smith and Jones, Daleks in Manhattan 6/10 The Last of the Time Lords, Human Nature 5/10 The Family of Blood, Evolution of the Daleks 4/10 The Lazarus Experiment, The Shakespeare Code 3/10 42 I can't rate the two parters as a single story because generally the second part is so much worse than the first - They're just written wrong, with decent or even good build-up and then an awful 3rd act.
My ranking is the Dalek 2 parter at the bottom, followed by Lazarus Experiment, followed by Sound of Drums 2 parter, followed by Utopia, followed by 42, followed by Gridlock, followed by Shakespeare Code, followed by Human Nature 2 parter, followed by Blink.

My ranking would be- 10. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks - A bit too long, would’ve maybe worked as a single episode 9. The Lazarus experiment - Ok 8. 42 - Ok, kind of a half way mark for the series 7. The Shakespeare code - Pretty fun 6. Gridlock - Great episode but the Macra weren’t needed 5. Smith and Jones - Exciting and engaging opener 4. Utopia - Amazing with a fantastic cliffhanger 3. The sound of drums/Last of the Time Lords - Mainly up here because of The sound of drums which I enjoy more than Utopia 2. Blink - Wonderful episode 1. Human nature/The Family of Blood - Outstanding episode Series 3 probably ranks 2nd on my new who ranking
Poor: 10. The Lazarus Experiment (3/10) 9. 42 (6.5/10) Meh: 8. The Shakespeare Code (7/10) 7. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks (7/10) Good: 6. Gridlock (8/10) 5. The Sound of the Drums/The Last of the Time Lords (8/10) 4. Smith and Jones (8.5/10) Great: 3. Utopia (9.5/10) 2. Human Nature/The Family of Blood (10/10) 1. Blink (10/10)
@@maxeyre2024 From what I've found cinemayward.com/movie-rating-system/ seems to have the best breakdown of the 5 stars and half stars system (Since half stars count as 1 point, it's still the 10/10 rating system). I'd recommend reading the first section, it explains this
i would say 1 blink 2 human nature/the family of blood 3 gridlock 4 utopia/the sound of drums/last of the time lords 5 smith and jones 6 the shakespeare code 7 the lazarus experiment 8 daleks in manhattan/evolution of the daleks 9 42

Gridlock (still get sad when boe dies and u realise later in the series that it’s jack) 4. Human nature/family of blood 5. Blink 6. Sound of drums/last of the time lords 7. Daleks in Manhattan/evolution of the Daleks 8. The Shakespeare code 9. The Lazarus experiment 10. 42
My ranking wouldn’t change that much in regards to Utopia being separate. Including the christmas special my ranking 10. The Shakespeare Code 9. 42 8. Gridlock 7. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks 6. The Runaway Bride 5. Smith and Jones 4. The Lazarus Experiment 3. Blink 2. Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords 1. Human Nature/The Family of Blood
I honestly agree that the family of blood is a great story but I kinda love Blink more. Blink bring a very distinctive feeling to the one who has already known the doctor, the way he is just showed up but not as the main character which also make us confused but also enjoyed as the same time, while Sally Sparrow is an awesome character, she is just like a doctor with her companion(future boyfriend). To the strangers of the series, Blink brings everything they need as a horror movie, they can watch without knowing who the doctor is, the episode bring everything it needs flawlessly to us. While the family of blood is also great but we have to keep an eye on what happened. The structure of the episode is great but yet easy to get confused(I do not know what's going on during the first episode of the story). It was very good but so much brainstorming. Compared to that, Blink is actually better. But the family of blood is actually my #2.
10. The Lazarus experiment (5/10) 9. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks (12/20) 8. The Shakespeare Code (6.5/10) 7. The Sound of Drums/Last of the time lords (13.5/20) 6. 42 (7.5/10) 5. Blink (yeah that's right, 8.5/10) 4. Human Nature/The Family of Blood (17/20) 3. Utopia (9/10) 2. Gridlock (9.5/10) 1.Smith and Jones (10/10)
Your positioning the "Lazarus Experiment" at the bottom of your list is definitely justified, it is merely there to explain the Master's Laser Screwdriver having the ability to accelerate the Doctors lifespan too the extreme old age he cruelly subjects the Doctor too. Was there a Vote Harold Saxon poster in this episode? Not sure how many times it showed up in series 3 but i do remember seeing one in a Torchwood episode also. Just bridging the two shows together.
I am so glad you didn't put Blink first, I like it but I find it so incredibly overrated, maybe my opinion of it has been diminished since all some fans ever talk about is how good it is, and good god does it annoy me, Doctor Who has much better offerings than Blink. I'd still put it third on my list of series 3 episodes, below Utopia and the Family of Blood 2 parter, and it would probably only just edge out Gridlock.
I think blink should be number 1 but in all honesty I probably have a bias because blink was my first episode, not even recommended by a friend or anything, it was just on the tv when i turned it on and i was instantly hooked and since have become a huge dr who fan
The stuff in Gridlock with the emotion drugs was a great idea but it is an existing trope in SciFi and if they made more of it then the episode would have been critiqued for stealing that idea.
10 Lazarus Experiment 3.5/10 9 42 4/10 8 Daleks in manhattan/Evolution of the daleks 5/10 7 Shakspearce code 6.5/10 6 Smith and Jones 7.5/10 5 Sound of the drums/last of the timelords 7.5/10 4 Gridlock 8/10 3 Utopia 8.5/10 2 Blink 9/10 1 Human Nature/Family of Blood 9.75/10
My issue with blink as a starter episode is that it's already one of the best. I'd rather start on a good episode rather than one of THE best. Dalek part 1 is better than part 2. Family of Blood is a worthy pick though (as much as blink is my fav). Got a bit of Who fatigue and took a season out for these reviews. Gonna have to revisit
My ranking is nearly similar to yours! We have the same Top 3. Only differences on my one are: #8 - The Shakespeare Code, #7 - 42, #6 - Smith And Jones, #4 - Gridlock.

Yessss Smith and Jones is criminally underrated like when im bored in bed and dont want anything scary ill hit up some john simm action or smith and jones maybe the Christmas invasion too!
Were the Cat People actually intended to be a normal evolution of cats? I always assumed they were genetically engineered Human-Cat hybrids of some sort. And maybe this society had created a whole bunch of engineered animal-people at some point. (Kind of like Cordwainer Smith-type Underpeople.)
Derek Jacobi is CRIMINALLY underrated as The Master. To me John Simm and Sacha Dhawan are kinda as good as eachother but, I think Jacobi is better than Dhawan but about as good as Simm It's hard to rank them but, I think Jacobi and Simm as a joint first place, Dhawan as a close second (Missy is too close to The Rani and was downgraded to reoccouring nuisance) then the classics in 3rd place
For the first few series in the UK, the BBC released DVDs three episodes at a time as the series progressed. When Blink and the Family of Blood two parter came out together I felt obligated to buy it - the license fee was not enough! :-) Series 3 is one of my least favourites overall and I've never managed to really like Martha. But those three episodes may be the best three weeks that Doctor Who has ever given us.
I was born in the hospital that they used as the royal hope hospital in Smith and Jones
I honestly really liked Tallulah, she was actually really sweet with Martha and seeing her and Frank trying to help her out with the lightning rod was pretty cool. That will be all.
The last section of The Family of Blood is television gold. The way he traps the family is sheer brilliance.

ooh, the Shakespeare code below the Lazarus experiment?
interesting show your work.
@Nathan Willis I would say that she Shakespeare code is very flat, and just a consistent below average white noise. I would struggle to find a scene that I actually liked it that episode but I can’t pinpoint any horrible scenes or characters either, while with the Lazarus experiment it has, in my opinion a more fun plot. Also I find it easier to ignore bad cgi/actors over stuff just being boring (hence why 42 was at the bottom). most of SEASON three is missing, SERIES three has some truely awesome moments (and yes, it matters, as there is a 26 season 7 doctor run before this, and if you count it as one long story this is SEASON 29!!!)
I did the test thing with my mom showing her midnight and blink and she started watching
It has been great to see your unedited and edited video, great look to the belly of the beast :)
1) Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords
2) Human Nature/Family of Blood
3) Blink
4) Smith and Jones
5) Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks
6) Gridlock
7) Shakespeare Code
8) 42
9) Lazarus Experiment
The first dalek episode was better than the second. Everything was in the dark.
My fave series 3 moment is when jack is found out as the face of boe
The thing I loved about Smith and Jones was the Judoon are also the villains in the story as well as not being necessarily evil, they are just doing there jobs, but they do a few bad things as well.
I actually really like 42. It has some interesting and fresh ideas and it was actually REALLY scary.

What the actual f**k? The Sound Of Drums / The Last Of The Timelords are one of the most epic episodes i ever saw. Well it had many plot holes and nonsense resurrection of The Doctor. But it's nowhere near the bottom. The character moments and music is absolutely on top.
My favourites are The Shakespeare Code and Human Nature/The Family of Blood
Night Hound Who same
We're going to get some great reviews next series.

1. Utopia
Family of Blood - Best Dr Who episode ending ever.
Blink and Utopia had some killer endings too tho
Ending of Bad Wolf.
My ranking is as follows worst to best
9) 42
8) The Lazarus Experiment
7) Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks
6) The Shakespeare Code
5) Smith and Jones
4) Gridlock
3) Blink
2) Human Nature/The Family of Blood
1) Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords
1. I count the finale as a 3-parter due to them having lots of connections.
2. None of these episodes are bad except ‘42’ which is just boring with nothing going for it.
blink was the episode that got me into doctor who. year 8 English may not have been fun but watching blink in class almost made it worthwhile
1. Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords
2. Utopia
3. Gridlock
4. Human Nature/Family of Blood
5. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks
(5 1/2. The Runaway Bride)
6. Blink
7. Smith and Jones
8. The Shakespeare Code
9. 42
10. The Lazarus Experiment
Not necessarily like a list in order of objective quality but a list in order of which ones I love the most :)
I kinda liked the evolution of the daleks but I do see your points it has its issues. I’d switch 42 with evolution, but that’s just me. Another great video :)
100% agree

@@Dayvis2niverse Sorry, I get them both mixed up sometimes. You know what I meant, though.
My favorite is utopia!
10. Lazarus Experiment
9. Shakespeare Code

7. Gridlock

3) Human Nature & The Family of Blood
2) The Sound of Drums & Last of the Time Lords
1) Blink
Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords is like my Doctor Who comfort food episode
Utopia is my favourite, more so than Blink. I love Gridlock and 42, especially Tennants "go on my son! " when he pulls the lever outside the ship. 😁
10- Lazarus Experiment
9- Shakespeare Code
8- 42
7- Blink
6- Gridlock
5- Smith and Jones
4- Daleks Take Manhattan/ Evolution
3- Sound of the Drums/ Last of the Time Lords
2- Utopia
1- Human Nature/ Family of Blood
I sat through Smith and Jones, The Shakespeare Code and Gridlock and thought "This is going to be the best season ever!". Well, not quite, but barring a few episodes, it was a very strong season. Martha became my favorite companion to that point (and still is today) because of her intelligence, her resourcefulness and yes, her beauty. And I think Human Nature/Family of Blood is the BEST Doctor Who episode ever, in the history of the show.
3:19 “Why pigs”
My ranking (best to worst - I like all series 3 episodes though)
1- Utopia
2 - Human Nature/The Family of Blood

6/10 The Last of the Time Lords, Human Nature
5/10 The Family of Blood, Evolution of the Daleks
4/10 The Lazarus Experiment, The Shakespeare Code
3/10 42
I can't rate the two parters as a single story because generally the second part is so much worse than the first - They're just written wrong, with decent or even good build-up and then an awful 3rd act.
Darn it, I forgot to add Smith & Jones. I would probably put that between Shakespeare Code & the Human Nature 2 parter

Blink and the Family of blood two parter both so low? Explain.
I find them quite dull, I’m usually not a big fan of horrors and historicals
1) Human nature/The family of blood

95) Gridlock

5 - daleks in Manhattan/evolution of
the daleks (sorry)
6 - smith and jones
7 - gridlock
8 - 42
9 - the Shakespeare code

Such high points in thus series! I think I like the finale more and Gridlock less, but I’d have to rewatch to be sure. Splendid coverage as always.

5.utopia\sound of the drums\last of the timelords (but if utopia was separate then it would be higher)
4.runaway bride
3.Smith and jones
2.blink
1.human nature\family of blood
I think less of Gridlock than you do. It's kind of meh. I would probably have it trade places with 42. Otherwise, solid list.
My series 3 ranking
10. The lazerus experiment
9. 42
8. Gridlock
7. The Shakespeare code
6. Daleks in manhattan/ the evaluation of the daleks
5. Utopia
4. Smith and Jones
3. The sound of drums/ last of the time lords
2. Human nature/ the family of blood
1. Blink
My ranking would be-
10. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks - A bit too long, would’ve maybe worked as a single episode
9. The Lazarus experiment - Ok
8. 42 - Ok, kind of a half way mark for the series
7. The Shakespeare code - Pretty fun
6. Gridlock - Great episode but the Macra weren’t needed
5. Smith and Jones - Exciting and engaging opener
4. Utopia - Amazing with a fantastic cliffhanger
3. The sound of drums/Last of the Time Lords - Mainly up here because of The sound of drums which I enjoy more than Utopia
2. Blink - Wonderful episode
1. Human nature/The Family of Blood - Outstanding episode
Series 3 probably ranks 2nd on my new who ranking
Once you have done each season you should rank the number one episode from each season against each other. A best of the best list you could say.
all 36? if you mean modern who its SERIES not seasons
Poor:
10. The Lazarus Experiment (3/10)
9. 42 (6.5/10)
Meh:
8. The Shakespeare Code (7/10)
7. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks (7/10)
Good:
6. Gridlock (8/10)
5. The Sound of the Drums/The Last of the Time Lords (8/10)
4. Smith and Jones (8.5/10)
Great:
3. Utopia (9.5/10)
2. Human Nature/The Family of Blood (10/10)
1. Blink (10/10)
Just saying, 7/10 is not a meh, 5/10 or ocassionally 6/10 is a meh, and 8/10 is when it gets into the great category
Wilo Polis I’d say anything up to 7/10 would be meh, and everything above 8 is good or great. I get what you’re saying though.

From what I've found cinemayward.com/movie-rating-system/
seems to have the best breakdown of the 5 stars and half stars system (Since half stars count as 1 point, it's still the 10/10 rating system). I'd recommend reading the first section, it explains this
i would say
1 blink
2 human nature/the family of blood
3 gridlock
4 utopia/the sound of drums/last of the time lords
5 smith and jones
6 the shakespeare code
7 the lazarus experiment
8 daleks in manhattan/evolution of the daleks
9 42
For me personally my favourite episodes from series 3 ranked worst to best are
1. Utopia(that reveal of the master and jack🥰)
2. Smith and Jones
3. Gridlock (still get sad when boe dies and u realise later in the series that it’s jack)
4. Human nature/family of blood
5. Blink
6. Sound of drums/last of the time lords
7. Daleks in Manhattan/evolution of the Daleks
8. The Shakespeare code
9. The Lazarus experiment
10. 42
Utopia>Sir Derek Jacobi > fantabulous and your rankings are spot on
Have you seen Avengers: Endgame?
If so, are you going to do a video on it?
Series 3 is prob. My favorite. Even though i love all the series, this one has always stood out for me. So good.
Hey you've deleted the "rough cut" original version that I and only a handful of others saw...aw I liked that version (too)!!😆🎩
I agree. It was natural and was too good to be edited (for me at least).
It's like our own little special thing we got to see, though. Let's enjoy that.
My ranking wouldn’t change that much in regards to Utopia being separate. Including the christmas special my ranking
10. The Shakespeare Code
9. 42
8. Gridlock
7. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks
6. The Runaway Bride
5. Smith and Jones
4. The Lazarus Experiment
3. Blink
2. Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords
My top three
1. Utopia
2. Blink
3. Human Nature
10. The Lazarus experiment (5/10)
9. Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks (12/20)
8. The Shakespeare Code (6.5/10)
7. The Sound of Drums/Last of the time lords (13.5/20)
6. 42 (7.5/10)
5. Blink (yeah that's right, 8.5/10)
4. Human Nature/The Family of Blood (17/20)
3. Utopia (9/10)
2. Gridlock (9.5/10)
1.Smith and Jones (10/10)
I feel like it’s just me that feels 42 is crazy underrated. I actually really like it
Best to worst
Last of the time lords
Utopia
Daleks in Manhattan
Gridlock
Human nature
Blink
Shakespeare code
Smith and Jones
42
Lazarus experiment
I think blink should be number 1 but in all honesty I probably have a bias because blink was my first episode, not even recommended by a friend or anything, it was just on the tv when i turned it on and i was instantly hooked and since have become a huge dr who fan
The stuff in Gridlock with the emotion drugs was a great idea but it is an existing trope in SciFi and if they made more of it then the episode would have been critiqued for stealing that idea.
10 Lazarus Experiment 3.5/10
9 42 4/10
8 Daleks in manhattan/Evolution of the daleks 5/10
7 Shakspearce code 6.5/10
6 Smith and Jones 7.5/10
5 Sound of the drums/last of the timelords 7.5/10
4 Gridlock 8/10
3 Utopia 8.5/10
2 Blink 9/10
1 Human Nature/Family of Blood 9.75/10
My issue with blink as a starter episode is that it's already one of the best. I'd rather start on a good episode rather than one of THE best. Dalek part 1 is better than part 2. Family of Blood is a worthy pick though (as much as blink is my fav). Got a bit of Who fatigue and took a season out for these reviews. Gonna have to revisit
My ranking is nearly similar to yours! We have the same Top 3. Only differences on my one are: #8 - The Shakespeare Code, #7 - 42, #6 - Smith And Jones, #4 - Gridlock.
I think blink is definitely in my top 10 favorite of episode of all time. It's just am absolutely amazing episode.
My ranking:
1) Human Nature/ Family Of Blood
2) Blink
3) Utopia
4) The Shakespeare Code
5) Gridlock
6) Sound of Drums/ LOTTL
7) Smith and Jones
8) 42
9) The Lazarus Experiment
10) Daleks in Manhattan/ Evolution Of The Daleks.... yuck.
Yessss Smith and Jones is criminally underrated like when im bored in bed and dont want anything scary ill hit up some john simm action or smith and jones maybe the Christmas invasion too!
Scientist becomes monster. Doctor who's shitty version of Jekyll and Hyde.

To me John Simm and Sacha Dhawan are kinda as good as eachother but, I think Jacobi is better than Dhawan but about as good as Simm
It's hard to rank them but, I think Jacobi and Simm as a joint first place, Dhawan as a close second (Missy is too close to The Rani and was downgraded to reoccouring nuisance) then the classics in 3rd place
Tallulah Voice is nails on on chalkboard
Why was the original vid deleted? just wondering!

Editing error I'd imagine.
@@davidgipe997 yeah i notice it now
For the first few series in the UK, the BBC released DVDs three episodes at a time as the series progressed. When Blink and the Family of Blood two parter came out together I felt obligated to buy it - the license fee was not enough! :-) Series 3 is one of my least favourites overall and I've never managed to really like Martha. But those three episodes may be the best three weeks that Doctor Who has ever given us.
