Also, this was really well done, and still hilarious.

You know how home cooking is usually super tasty because it's made with love? I think your music is super tasty because it's made with humor. It's good-natured and your personality and sense of humor shine through. Hard to quantify, but it's there. And despite coming from lots of different sources, there'a lot of unity of atmosphere and style going on here.

Yay! I have the 21st comment! Hello Andrew! I don't know if you'll see this, but there's no harm in trying. I'm a drummer/percussionist, and I want to get into digital music production/mixing. I don't have much money to spend, and I'm a huge beginner in this category. In terms of hardware/equipment, what would you recommend for the best tool for electronic music mixing. I was looking at launchpads, but those are a bit expensive, and I don't know if the minis are any good. I also checked out OP-1, but that was still higher than I can afford. If you have the patience to read this, or even reply, that would be amazing. Thanks, Rob

Robbie Violante the first thing you should invest in is a DAW (digital audio work station) it's the most important thing you need because that's where the majority of the music will be made. Andrew uses ableton live I use fl studio but there are a lot of daws out there and they all are good it just depends on which work flow you prefer but I recommend looking up UA-cam videos on different daws and see which one suits you best

Thank you for the advice! I thought I'd get some troll as my first reply, but you gave me some very helpful information. I'll be sure to check out everything you mentioned as well as looking at UA-cam vids. Thanks!

Noel Soto is giving you sound advice. I personally don't have any experience in music production, but, I do know that starting out as a beginner can be hard, and that you should always practice and challenge yourself. Kind of like how Andrew is doing with this video.

you should decide for one of those and then look around which plugins you need for the things you want to do in the beginning. The "free" plugins you get at the beginning are most of the time not enough and you should get a few once you started to familiarize yourself with the programm to really start.

I'll echo Noel here and say look into a good DAW. The first major hurdle you will face is learning how to use the software itself, and it can be tricky at the start, but if you don't learn your way around a DAW it won't matter how fancy or expensive your controller is. If you're on a tight budget, you can try Reaper for free, but you might also take a look at the demo versions of the big name DAWS (Ableton, Cubase, FL Studio). I ended up going with Cubase since I got a discount on it from an audio interface that I purchased, but all of the big name DAWs are equally capable. Once you're there you can start exploring different plugins, which are basically like software instruments and effects that you can play through your DAW. Lots of free stuff out there to try before you start spending on the professional stuff: www.musicsoftwaretraining.com/blog/hello-world/ Good luck!
