Wandering around downtown D.C. on a Motorcade Monday

- So there were two events at the White House, but I wasn't credentialed to either one so we just went for a walk around downtown and checked out a few things. Managed to catch Biden's motorcade leaving the Hilton and the King of Jordan arriving to the White House, but missed the carjacking at a school by a few moments.

I can never get used to the number of black cars and cop cars and motorcycles around each politician as they get around town. Good ground-level tour - thanks.
That can't be good for Biden's Net Zero fossil fuel emission's plan
Can approach the low eighties..not counting the airborne birds, Combat Air Patrol, tankers AWACS.....
It can get very big...,
Yes NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC is still in print, just reordered it for my husband,I said to him’is this magazine worth $50, a year 🤦🏻♀️. To him Yes Thanks 🍃
Greetings
Gorgeous church.
I will be looking up The Mayflower Hotel tonight.
I always appreciate a juicy DC Scandal or two.
I love the bits and bobs you bring along with your walks--
You really bring life to your party 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you P6 for a great great video once again. I haven’t given you many compliments but I have been watching. Thank you for the beautiful tour of the church. It was very peaceful. Thank you God bless God bless you and your family.
I have to say it’s never boring in DC. That’s why I need to be back. Hey Andrew.
Good catch of the motorcade and also the nice little tour of the church. That was nice. Stay warm.
Great video thanks! Good catch of motorcades. Have a good one Andrew.
Always such informative videos. Keep up the great work
Ah ha pansies yellow flowers with a smile in purple! Sturdy flowers put out this time of year.
DuPont circle, always quite dangerous, even back in 1960.
Oh my! You walked past the Krispy Kreme HOT light?! Brave man on a cold day 😆
Truly! 🥂😮
St. Matthew's was also where JFK was interred after he was assasinated. There's a famous picture of JFK Jr. standing on the steps of the St. Matthew's saluting his Father's casket as it passes by
It wasn’t boring. You always make things interesting. Especially when you talk about doughnuts! 🍩👍🏼
Thanks for another great video how nice Sono Bono has a cute little park in his name. Beautiful buildings. Sorry you didn’t get credentials would been nice to see.
My poor hometown, shooting an stabbing.
Now how can that be? Didn't you see the BLM sign?
@@user-rw8wq6yc1x You do know that skin color doesn't determine whether someone is a criminal or not?
Taylor Swift.😂😂😂
God bless you and your family. Praying you and your family stay safe.
Oh nice to see inside!I would like to see again the restaurant with the cats
Cat cafe?
Dupont Circle area, right across from the park in the center, in any direction is just about the closest that D.C. really has to having the vibe of a non-British european capital, whether it may be Paris, Madrid, Rome, etc.

Thank you for your service
You are a great tour guide of off the beaten path places.
It chilly in Texas : later in day sunshine. Thank you for all you do .
I will be looking forward to seeing the original mansion. Thanks P6
Thank you for your visit to St. Matthew's Cathedral. If you visit another time when there is no Mass or any other activity, there is a plaque on the floor up front where former President Kennedy's casket was during his funeral in 1963. I like those houses/apartments in DuPont Circle at @10:30 on the left side, when you were filming President Biden's motorcade.
Thanks for the view inside St. Matthew's. Always wanted to visit but, not a lot of accessible parking in that area.
MOTORCADE TO BRING BIDIN TO THE MENTAL WARD
Nice video, thanks & subbed. Been fortunate to see a lot of cities , but one is still on that elusive list. Cant wait to get a chance to see the nations capital.
Very Beautiful Cathedral. Love it.
I love your knowledge of Wash DC!
sometimes you got to stand in awe at the work done.
The carjacking apparently occurred in a residential neighborhood, far from any major national federal facilities, such as the White House or the Capitol, etc. Therefore, the main Washington, D.C. police force, not other federal police agencies was probably the only police agency nearby. A map shows that the carjacking apparently occurred near a local charter school.
There are parts of DC here that remind me of places such as the UK, Denmark, Finland, and even parts of Eastern Europe and Russia as well all rolled up in one package.
A beautiful cathedral. I never knew it existed there.
Pressident Kennedy's funeral was there in 1963.
We never had car jacking in 1975. Geesh!
But we have BLM now!
Really? There were still car jackings in 1975.
@trapdoorspringfieldmodel1888 really? You defend some really stupid things! It certainly wasn't common at that time & you know it, but just can't resist trying to look intelligent. FAIL!!!
Here in Chicago alone, car jackings doubled in over a year. Please, come visit and bring a sweet ride!
@@debbiedebster5806 What I defend that was a stupid thing? The person said their were never any car jackings in 1975, and all I did was to point out that wasn't true at all. As to what crime was or wasn't common I can tell you that crime was rampant enough that films like Death Wish and Dirty Harry resonated with the public.
On the subject of going to Chicago a sizable portion of my family has lived in that city and surrounding region (and many of them still live there) since the early 1900's. Not one has ever been carjacked, and that includes an aunt who had a Dodge Viper and before that a Porsche while her husband liked Corvettes to the point that he got his and her Corvettes. I can go on but you act like Chicago is somehow a crime-ridden heck hole, but I have been there many times and my experiences along with actual facts don't support your claim.
Once again you try to make the claim that I am not intelligent, and in so doing all you have managed to do is to reveal your own lack of intelligence.
@trapdoorspringfieldmodel1888 spin it however you want, you're still beyond ignorant.
Oh look, Biden off to ice cream shop!
What do you have against people, including Presidents, enjoying ice cream?
Where do you want me to start?????????????????
Enjoy your world view of nature. Too.
I thought motorcade would be more impressive.
Thanks Andrew... I always love the French fry plan. :)
Admiralty Law... stay away from me...
What do you mean? You believe or don't believe under Admiralty law?
Speaking of great views of the Capital. Have you ever figured out where Agent Gibbs on NCISS was supposed to live? He seemed to have a good view of the Capital from his front porch.
Wow busy traffic today
Very strange that you did not know St Matthews was the site of President Kennedy's funeral Mass.
England cold, that's true - it's the moisture, a damp cold. We also have the kind of rain that makes you wet!
Fun day so stay warm Andrew 😊
❤
Now that Hinkley is a free man, do you think he ever visits the scene of his crime?
He was forbidden from leaving Williamsburg VA for Decades till both of his Parents Died. Now?
@@ablewindsor1459 I'm sure he is being watched 24/7 by the government.
It's too bad that he wasn't committed to a mental hospital where his family lived in Colorado, or in Texas. Win-win. Helps the Secret Service and their protectees by getting him out of Washington. And helps his family members by letting him live near them..
@@dif1212 -- Remember that he got off on an insanity plea because the DC jury hated the President. I would rather he be restricted to DC rather than some other city.
I have no problem with John Hinkley having been locked up in a hospital. I'm just saying that he should have been locked up in a city where he was lesws likely to harm anyone. Remember that while he was in Washington, D.C., he continued to pose a threat towards President Reagan, towards President George H.W. Bush, and towards President George W. Bush. He also continued to pose a threat towards law enforcement officers of any political background, such as Secret Service agents. @@GilmerJohn
can you go by where Reagan was shot
P6 did a video back in 2021 covering it. Links tend to get removed or go missing. Search for "On the 40th Anniversary of the Reagan Assassination Attempt we visit the scene of the crime"
RIP Sunny
I don't remember parking near ...Lincoln
St Matthew's is so pretty.
Remember may flower london chill😂😂😂
Thanks
With all the food you seem to eat and it mostly seems like fast food, you should weigh at least 300 lbs. Seems like most days you have a couple of lunches and perhaps an afternoon snack. Amazing.
The police motorcycles are quite impressive.
The unformed Secret Service officers on bicycles often patrol near the motorcades when the motorcades are nare the White House. The bicycle officers are in the area anyway, so it isn't very far out of their way to deploy them for motorcade security.
Thank you.
Hey P6!..,All!..,😊
Thanks P6 🐧🥂🥂🥂
Now on your premier exit i got C.R.E.W begging for Funds. . . .
I am surrounded by Honduran neighbors.
can you share your list of radio scanner frequencies? Thanks!
I use a Uniden SDS-100 which is programmed directly from the RadioReference directory. I honestly don't know the frequencies--I just import it directly using their software.
It's chilly and raining in eastern NC, too. Windy tomorrow.
Only “ motorcade I saw was President Bill Clinton as he campaigned in Texas” . It was the bus tours. He spoke in Athens , Texas
Hmm when do you think the famous cherry trees will bloom!
Seems like we could save a bunch of tax-payer dollars if Biden would just ride in one of those sidecars. Give him an ice cream, put him in a sidecar and everyone else could go do something productive 🤔 If I were president, that would be the highlight of my day 😁
Unfortunately, the United States has a long history of Presidents being attacked and even killed. That is part of why they have sizeable motorcades. The other part is that a President has to be able to handle any crisis regardless of their location, and so the motorcade is designed essentially to be a rolling White House.
Not a good idea. President Kennedy rode in an open top car and he didn't survive it, after a sniper shot him. That's why he's buried at Arlington National Cemetery. That's why his funeral was held at St. Matthew's cahtedral, which we saw in this video. Not a good idea for the police either--a Dallas police police officer died when he got redeployed from regular neighborhood patrol to search for the sniper.
@@dif1212 Thanks for the history lesson. I was simply attempting to interject a little humor. I was 12 at the time and remember Nov. 22, 1963 very, very well. A classmate of mine was Off. JD Tippit's nephew. It was an extremely tough day for he and his family.
My sympathy to Officer Tippit's nephew if you are still in touch with him.
According to Wikipedia, Officer Tippet's widow, who remarried has passed away, as has one of his sons. Another son and a daughter are still alive.
I was 10 years old when President Kennedy and Officer Tippet died, and I am 70 years old now.@@oregonoutback7779
Q. Was that underpass the one in Enemy of the State?
Yes, it was
@@Penguinsix 👍 thanks👍
Is that where the Mayflower Madam got her name?
No, she preceded the scandal with New York Governor Spritzer by years. Her ancestors may have immigrated to the United States on the Mayflower ship.
I saw speech on tv today . Outside .
I saw good things !
Catch you later... thank you Andrew
