Tanks were the best defence against tanks and Percival had none. The 300 Valentines and Matilda II, which were supposed to be shipped to Percival, were diverted by Churchill himself to the Soviet Union. The Japanese tanks kept bursting through British lines on the Malay Peninsula with ease. When these tanks streamed across the causeway at 1:20, the battle of Singapore was practically over. Churchill blamed Percival for everything but he had to take some responsibility too.
The heroes were the malay regiment who fought till the very end, and not the british who cowardly hid behind fortifications and surrendered singapore to the japanese.
And then now the chinese take over than the malays and wanted to show to the malays who is the boss now
A too British General was actually a Canadian.To him fighting in a foreign land under desperate circumstances I salute him🇨🇦.These British soldiers were heroes who suffered terribly.🇬🇧
*The British led Army in Singapore was effectively a Militia with no tanks or armoured support and a handful of obsolete aircraft. Japan's Army had air and naval supremacy supported by hundreds of tanks, it was no contest. Churchill focus was on Germany and Italy.*

I'm pretty sure most of them are from real footage they found from survivors of the war or maybe just picked up films they found from the war afterwards. Cameras was already invented in 1910s, too, and WW2 started in 1939, while the invasion of SG was in 1942, so... Good chance the footage is real. There were plenty of cameramen soldiers in combat-

Soviet Red Army would not have surrendered under any circumstance as in Leningrad and Stalingrad.
Looks reality about future instead, ever felt like such because if 1 person can recruit 10,000 people to attack 1 person, imagine the armies - that area on the right is Egypt. Means if understand situation, we all want boats as an easy path(on the left). Egypt and Japanese maybe never fought before. The anticipated theory: the fighter planes on top of Egypt spark egyptians to interfere and enter Singapore to fight them. Story of Israel sending entire troop to attack Egypt, believed as to attack Soviet union at the same time. Means Israel only left their leaders, another is "Finland" and "Israel" are the same and different? Have 2 answers, they are fake of each other? Japan and Israel wears faces of each other as current story now.

Lau Boon Bee what jay hazara said makes some sense, despite all the horrors of the war. If the Japanese had not invaded, Singapore and the other Southeast Asian countries would not have gained independence from their former colonial masters.

tamarazi yes that is true but it really depends on your point of view on the Japanese. Some people up to this date think that the Japanese are still their saviours and that mindset hasn’t been eradicated completely. For example, some Indians might think that the Japanese were their saviours from colonial rule.
