Curious about Abeka. Do you need the instructors guide? Is there any information on when to introduce the readers when?

Thanks for these videos, can't wait to see your living timetable to see how it all comes together!

For your younger’s narrations, do you write exactly what they say (even when some narrations don’t make much sense or have much meat to it) or do you paraphrase or make it grammatically correct?

Hello! Yes, I write exactly what they say. I don't write "um"s or anything like that, but if there is a significant pause, I may write that in brackets. I only aim to write down one narration per student per day. I will ask for narrations after every reading, but I only write down one (minimum).

We chose to do math u see as well this year! I was able to get all the teacher guides and videos for about $3 a piece on eBay. Wish I could find the work book more affordable but that’s ok.
We also printed out some art/math pages from the good and the beautiful as practice sheets for her. She loves the beautiful art filled pages.
They are free online if you are ever curious! You can print whatever your child might be having a hard time grasping and add it in.
I find since we lean CM my daughter is really into beautiful things 😅

Do you think the Abeka Handbook could be used to improve a newer reader in sounding out words better?

Abeka uses a very different approach to phonics, but I think maybe practice with their blend letters may be helpful? They have a "my blend book" that has just blend ladders.
Depending on the level of your child, you could re-start at the beginning and fly through the first couple of chapters, just so your child understands the approach.

@@AHeartForHomeEducation Thank you for that suggestion, at least it’s fairly inexpensive to try.
