- After many changes to our homeschool plan for this upcoming year, I have finally chosen our curriculum and book lists for this upcoming school year, 2024-2025. In this video I simply list all the books & curriculum, but in future videos I will go into more details about how I plan to teach each subject. Thanks for watching!

Love the choices. It sounds like a lot though, can you go into how you fit everything into your daily schedule, how long it takes to get through subjects,etc. I school 3 kids (4th coming up to school age soon) and it find it hard to do enough subjects with the time I have.
I am posting a video about that next week! I probably wouldn’t do all these subjects with more children than 2… for example, I’d probably only do one history option rather than also include Canadian history. Also it helps if some of your children are more independent! Look out for the video next week! I’m happy to help and answer any of your questions!

Do you have a video on how you do your subjects together when there's such a difference in ability? And how you schedule things on a day to day basis?
I don’t think I have any updated videos on how I do things currently, or specifically on how we do group subjects. I will plan to make one soon, as well as how I will schedule out this upcoming year!
I have beautiful Shakespeare for children too but it’s a bit over my son’s head, he’s 5, do you know a simpler version or maybe just wait until he’s older?
My preference is to read it to them, even if it’s a little over their heads. You can go over a few of the more difficult vocabulary words first, and even narrate to them what the story was about afterwards.
But I totally understand your frustration!
There are simpler Shakespeare adaptations, but I have not tried any yet to make any recommendations. I have seen some picture books on Amazon, etc. Alternatively, if you feel he’s not gaining anything from reading it, I would just wait until he’s older! 😊

Do you mean to the plays we’re reading, or E. Nesbit’s adaptation?
I would love to know how you pair the well trained mind LA because each book has its own separate grammar lesson. They don’t line up. So I’ve been confused on how to use them together
I find they both (FLL and WWE) focus on different aspects of language arts. FLL focuses more on grammar and sentence structure. And WWE focuses on writing and being able to sequentially summarize a passage. They are meant to work together. If you find some occasional overlap (like they both ask for copywork on a given day) just drop one of them 😊. Here is a link of us doing a lesson in laguage arts… but I’m not sure if I address the overlap or not. But at least you can see what it looks like to use both.

Is Story of the World part of Alveary?
No the Alveary is not using Story of the World as their spine, although some have asked them to. They choose new books each year for each new history cycle.
Are the older wordly wise books grade equivalent? Is level 1 grade 1?
It’s really difficult to find the answer to this, and there are so many editions of this curriculum, but what I’ve found is:
Book A: Grade 1
Book B: Grade 2
Book C: Grade 3
Book 1: Grade 4
And then each book # following that coincides with the next grades.
Why can’t they make it less confusing? Lol. I hope that helps!
