for me it is priceless! my daughter(7th grade) dreams of becoming a writer, now I have a little idea how to develop her style
So glad you found this helpful!
Thank you for this information. We are going from a private school to homeschool. Technically he is going into 6th grade curriculum..Middle School, but is advanced in math, 7th grade. Is there a video on making this switch at this age?
Hi, Thank you for reaching out with your questions and your interest in our resources. We have several blog posts on switching to a Charlotte Mason approach and to homeschooling that you may find helpful.
This is the first in a multi-part blog post on switching to Charlotte Mason's methods:

This post is specific to switching to homeschooling from a classroom setting:

If you are looking for curriculum resources, you will find an overview here:

As you mention math specifically, that would be under "Individual Studies" at the above link, you will see a place where you can click on the word "Math" and you will be able to see SCM's recommendations by grade level, however of course choose the course that will meet your individual child's needs in this area! Here is a direct link to SCM's individual studies recommendations by grade level.

This is so very helpful to wrap my mind around how each level looks. So when I have my 5th grader read a living book, and then write a narration, how do I phrase that? “Okay, now please write what you learned from this chapter?” Or “How did the country change when the Europeans arrive?” Should I be specific in what they are to write or keep it open-ended?
This is a great question and we have a wealth of information pertaining to narration specifically on our site. Here is one place to start to give a good overview of how to do narration with your child: simplycharlottemason.com/blog/how-to-do-narration/
And some additional narration ideas: simplycharlottemason.com/timesavers/narration/
This is very helpful ❤
Thank you!
My son is in 5th grade but is not at a 5th grade level of reading. We've been using the good and the beautiful curriculum. How could we transition to this style?
Here is a great blog post to help you with the basics on how to transition to a CM method of education within your homeschool and our site has many more blogs that can help you understand how to best switch to this style of learning in your home:
