🌙 ABOUT ME 🌙
Hi! My name is Alice and I love books! I read just about everything from classics to contemporary fiction, adventures to mysteries, fantasy to all kinds of non-fiction - and I love reviewing and recommending books, and just generally having a chat about literature. I also adore baking, hot chocolate, crafts and basically everything cosy, soft and peaceful. I currently live in Oslo, Norway.

Please don’t be sorry for posting a long video! We love it 🫶🏽✨
I’m glad! 🥰
Wow. Now that was a Q&A session like you’ve never done before. Loved it! Bergen sounds lovely and cozy like you said. Oslo sounds very big and sectional but also lovely. Hoping to see both within the next few years. If I see you I won’t grab you and scream “Alice!” LOL. Wishing you well in your continuing education!
Yay, I’m glad you liked it! 🥰 Hahah, if you saw me and did that, it would be pretty funny 😂
School is never a waste of time. I now have two degrees that I haven't used in 25 years. But it has shaped my personality and broadened my horizons just because of what I was exposed to. Good for you for returning to school. IT is a super choice and YES you are definitely smart enough!
You sound like a native English speaker! You obviously have an excellent education system!
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️
For your busy life now with full time job, going back to school, UA-cam, try scheduling and blocking out your time with a planner so you can set time limits to better accomplish what you need to do for yourself. Being focused on your many goals, setting up a dedicated schedule for your many tasks and studying to come may give you some insights about you and how you manage your time. (Bullet journal or some kind of planner may help). You may need more time for studying some subjects over others. Note what you feel is easy to do, what you really identify with and attractive to your hard wiring as a person. I wish you good luck, Alice, in pursuing your dreams so that you feel more fulfilled.
Thank you for this Alice. I really enjoyed spending an hour with you, coffee in hand and chocolate very nearby!
Yay, happy to hear it 🥰
This was fabulous. Thanks for sharing. It's always fun to learn more about the folks we see on the screen on a regular basis. Funny, the way you were describing your childhood, not wanting to share the details but trying to explain the vibe - I totally get it. I have similar thoughts when thinking about my childhood - mostly good memories and very privileged, but i don't remember a lot and also had some struggles with my mental health through young adulthood.
Girlllll xmas season in retail. I feel you! I am no longer in retail but was in my 20s ...still recovering from it now in my 50s lol.
Office job - "i sit in front of a computer and i do things" lol - sounds like my job.
I'm glad you liked it! ❤️ And yes, I feel like those years in retail during Christmas will haunt me for the rest of my days haha!
How lovely to have a longer video and get to know you a bit better beyond books!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Hi Alice 👋 Thank you for this hour long video, I enjoyed it 💙
So glad! 🥰
I so enjoy your videos and this one was wonderful! I am 67 and live in Washington state. I haven’t been privileged enough to travel but I would certainly love to. I appreciate the large variety of genres you read and recommend. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! 🥰❤️
It was great to get to know a bit more about you. I had to laugh when you said that people think you sound American. The first time I ever watched your videos I knew you were from either Norway or Switzerland, there are certain ways you say words or the sounds of the words make your accent come through. I could relate to your thoughts on the COVID lockdowns. We were in lockdown here for a very long time but it didn't make a lot of difference to me. The biggest difference was I had to home-school my daughter for a while but other than that life for me was pretty much the same as it had already been.
😁❤️
Thanks for posting!
Loved this chatty video ❤
Thanks Alice, I found that really interesting x
Love your channel! I wish I could learn my grandmother's native tongue, but I never learned it. She's Filipina. I think my sister and parents are impressed with my channel and my extended family have said it was cool. There are some readers in my family, but they don't read as much as I do. My dad is an author now. He has one book published and one that is going through the process of publishing.
Love that! 😍
Thank you!!
Reading is an excellent way to retain (and expand) vocabulary and good structure in a language. And media helps with fluency!🧡
Yes, for sure! 😃
It was fun learning more about you Alice! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
This was fun to watch!
Hi Alice, thank you for being so open and share your personal information with us ❤ It was very interesting. Also, it was nice of you to answer my question, I have found it helpful and will follow your advice.
Good luck with your studies ❤️
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️
the range in this q&a is just so funny when you started with your childhood and work I did not expect it to end with eyeliner tips 😂
Hhahaha, it’s always good to have some twists and turns 😂
Many thanks for this very interesting and sympathetic Q&A. I was also able to find myself in many points ( concerning the ‚introvert‘ part 😊)
I loved the long video ❤. And thanks for answering my question 😊
🥰❤️
I love this video and getting to know you better. Good luck with future school plans!! ❤📚
Thank you! 🥰
I really enjoyed this video. I have been watching for a while but completely missed that you are in Norway! You sound like you are from the American Midwest. Not any recognizable accent (this from an American Southerner:). Also I understand your feelings during lockdown. I am apparently genetically engineered to isolate. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your next video.
My husband and I went to Edinburgh for a week. We loved it!
For the makeup/eyeliner video you could do a getting ready with me type video where u also talk about what you've been reading or bks you want to read that month.
Also this video was so great. Loved getting to know you more and your thoughts on Norway, Books, traveling, lockdown, etc.
I'd love for you to do a Norweign/Oslo bookshop vlog at some point. Or places you love to go eat, read, hangout to see more of your home city. Thxs for answering so many questions
I’m glad you liked it! The video I mentioned about the bookshops in Oslo is kind of like a vlog 🥰
Hey Alice,
Thank you for answering my question and for this hour long video, that was really nice.
I can relate to many things you said (retail job, languages and introvert among others), and others were just very interesting!
I was convinced that this channel was your job, I don't know how you do everything, now I admire you even more!
I’m glad you liked it! 🥰 and thank you!
I'd saved this video for the weekend and here I am now!
🥰🥰
Loved watching this while knitting 😁
Love to hear it! 😍😍
I did the same with English books, I started when I was 12-13 with short stories and went from there. It's really cool to hear about your journey with education and work, all the best with going back to study more!
Thank you! 😃❤️
Hi Alice, I am also going back to school after doing a degree in a creative field so I feel you! All the best!
Amazing!! 😍
Awww you are such a sweet person! I think it’s great going back to school. My oldest daughter is an introvert haha she is 17 and wants to be home haha. She is happy w her little dog and that’s it. Nothing wrong w that.
Thank you! 🥰
The Northern Lights are another reason to come to Canada 🇨🇦
Alice: I must recommend a couple of books to you that I love: Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. It won a Pulitzer! Wonderful literary contemporary fiction with historical aspects
Gothic: Bellefleur by Joyce Carol Oates. Fantasy, kind of fairy tale-ish: The Vanishing of Katharina Linden by Helen Grant
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson which is historical and uniquely fantasy
History. WWII. In the Garden of Beasts by Eric Larson
So many books. So little time.
I wish you well with your future studies.
Thank you!
Thank you to the people who asked Alice about her childhood. I loved hearing about it, but I never would have thought to ask.
🥰🥰🥰
I have the same reading habits. Started reading in English at age 15 and never stopped. Now (20 years later) it sometimes feels easier to me than in my mother tongue. I am actually forcing myself to now and then read something in my mother tongue. 😅 with translated books I often read the English translations as well.
That’s exactly how it is for me! Glad I’m not alone 😅
Love BooksUnbound as well btw :-)
Hi Alice
I really enjoyed this Video - Thank You.
Speaking of Northern Lights - we got to see them over the weekend where I live at here in the United States. Those Northern Lights was just beautiful.
My Ancestors were part Scotch Dutch so some of them came from Scotland. I have always wanted to go to Scotland. I too love to Travel - Been to all of the States here in the US except for Hawaii - Texas. I have been to Israel and to Canada. I have seen the Niagra Falls on both Sides - Canadian Side and the US Side. This was before you had to have a Passport to go to Canada.
What are you going back to School for?
I love your Cat Eyes.
Do you Drive to work?
Take Care & Happy Reading
❤️🤗📚📖🔰❤️
Amazing! It’ll be for a bachelors degree in IT security 🤓 And no, I take public transport to work! 🥰
@@TheBookCastle - Thank you for answering my Questions - Oh Okay - I wish we had a Public Transportation where I live and than I would not have to drive or have Car Insurance or Car Maintenance to worry about. Good Luck when you go back to School - I hope that you do well in your Classes for IT.
Happy Reading
❤️🤗🔰📖📚❤️
I love your accent!
Thank you! 😌
Your English is amazing, Alice
Thank you! ❤️
I love your videos. Have seen your crocheting - afghans which are gorgeous. Am green with envy as I cannot do it. Did I hear you correctly? You are a grandmother?????
Ahahahah, this made me laugh! I did say it but it was a joke (because crocheting is a thing grandmothers do) 😂 Can you imagine!! 😂👵🏻
🤍🤍
I can totally see you with a Dachshund. A little girl. You should name her Lowla. Get it...? Hahaaa.....
Tiffany!! You always crack me up 😂😂
Ich kann dir in Zukunft auch Kommentare auf Deutsch schreiben, falls du wieder üben möchtest ;)
