I myself struggle with classics, but one that I really love is “The Little Princess” it is such a sweet yet heartbreaking story about a little girl who is just so good. Every time I read it, it makes me want to be a kinder person.
I'm so glad you read these Classics. I love all of them but Anne of Green Gables has always had a special place in my heart. I first read it when I was 8 or 10. I come back to that series every once in awhile. I'm doing a reread now and am on Book 5 and am loving it. I think it may be my new favorite book in the series.
Anne of Green Gables is so good. I live on the east coast of Canada and there is actually a spot on Prince Edward Island that has tourist attractions to the book. If you ever make a trip out that way I highly suggest checking it out.
Yes to part 2. The more classics you read, the more you expand your mind. That's just the way I think about it. I'm glad you enjoyed Anne of Green Gables. It's one of my favorites, too. The old PBS adaptation of the books, with Megan Follows as Anne is perfection. Hope you are feeling better!
Little Women and Anne of Green Gables are my absolute favourites and I’m so glad you liked them! You should definitely watch the Megan Follows Anne of Green Gables movies too! 💗💗
Now that you've read Anne of Green Gables, you need to watch the movie adaptation with Megan Follows as Anne, Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla, and Jonathan Crombie as Mathew (you will absolutely LOVE his Mathew). It is the best adaptation! 😊
I definitely think that reading multiple classics together helps since you're in that brain zone. I love and completely recommend the rest of the Anne of green gables series, pride and prejudice, wuthering heights!!
What great picks! Anne is the cosiest classics for when you're sick ❤ I got to go to Prince Edward Island last year and visited the house that inspired Green Gables, it was so lovely being there! Persuasion is my favourite Jane Austen, that letter! 😍 Glad you enjoyed your time with them all! I recommend Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, it's short and funny and is her take on a gothic satire! It has my favourite Austen man in it and every time I read it, it bumps Persuasion off the top spot (until I read Persuasion again 😂). Oh and if you fancy some classic sci-fi I'd recommend John Wyndham, he's very readable! Maybe Midwich Cuckoos
I don’t know why but your videos and your husbands videos just always make me smile and feel so unique to me ! It’s amazing when you both upload it makes my day and I save them to binge watch together while reading myself ! Much love from over here in the U.K. 😊 keep up the amazing work your both so positive and genuine and give off such lovely vibes 😊
If you havent watched it, you need to watch the 1985 tv series of anne of the green gables! I watched it so many times in my childhood! Is sooooo good! Love Anne and the Cuthbert ❤
Oh Ashlynn! I'm so glad you loved Anne with an e ❤ I live 2 hours from Prince Edward Island and you can actually visit Green Gables! I highly recommend the 1985 TV movie it's my favorite!! Have fun reading the rest of the series😊
I learned from trying to read some classics that I am just not a classic reader. I can watch them easier then reading them. Glad you enjoyed Anne of Green Gables.
So glad you’re feeling better!! Missed your content and sweet spirit! Anne of Green Gables and Little Women are my childhood, girlhood and adulthood!! 😭♥️ My absolute favorites!! Also please, please continue the series for Anne of green gables - each one is so amazing and precious!! The movie adaptation of the series with Megan Follows is the BEST!!! I watch it more than a few times a year 😅 - I will note that the third movie isn’t connected to the books but it’s still soooo good!! Also the movie adaptation of Persuasion with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry Jones is my favorite Austen movie of all time!!! Ugh ok WOWOW this made my whole day seeing you read clearly my favorite books!!! ✨✨✨🤍🤍🤍
yes to part 2! also, because you loved anne of green gables so much you should definitely think about watching the show adaption, ‘Anne With an E.’ Truly, it is an amazing show and i think you will adore it
Classics for you? Hmm... Ok. My favourite Jane Austen is Pride and Prejudice - I found it easier to read than Persuasion. So, if you managed to understand that one, you should fly through Pride and Prejudice. An old favourite of mine is Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo. It will elicit a lot of feelings, so keep a box of tissues close to you. Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë - but don't expect it to be a romance novel. It isn't. It's about... resentment. It's gothic, atmospheric, you'll hate some characters you may have wanted to love in the beginning... But, first and foremost, don't go into it with false expectations. Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Brontë, is a bit of a love story, gothic as well, with a morally gray male protagonist. I found him less irritating than StJohn Rivers, but that's just me. 😅 I love the story, though. One of the first novels where dreams are important in a way that seems Freudian to us before Freud. What else? If you feel like reading an old murder mystery, try Lady Audley's Secret, by Mary Elizabeth Braddon. Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, is an amazing book, you just have to read two versions and compare them before deciding which one you like best. A book that I devoured is The Way We Live Now, by Anthony Trollope. Good pacing, as compared to other Victorian novels. I can't recommend you all my favourite classics because your tastes differ from mine in some measure. Yet I hope you'll enjoy at least some of them. (Have you read Heidi, the children's classic?)
i first read anne of green gables, but the junior edition, when i was in elementary school. anne is like my best friend, she’s such a comfort to me and anne of green gables is the reason why i love reading ❤
I was soooooo excited to watch you read & love Anne of Green Gables!!! I read all of her (L.M. Montgomery)books growing up, and she is my favorite author ❤️ ♥️ 😍! I'm an avid reader to this day and love to read classics & thriller/horror etc.
PLEASE 🙏🏼 DO A READING ANNE OF GREEN GABLES SERIES. I absolutely love anne, and love this video. I keep rewatching it. This is the 3rd time. Love this video.
I recently found your channel and I love your videos so much!🫶🏻 by the way, I highly recommend you reading the rest of anne of green gables series cause the books just get better and better :)
I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see you read the 7 other Anne of Green Gables books! I read them all last year with my best friend and two of them (Anne’s House of Dreams and Rilla of Ingleside) both made me cry HARD! They are the best books ever lol
Awesome vlog 💖💯‼️I am glad that you are feeling better 😅😊 ‼️ The 2019 Little Women film is my favourite also‼️I tried to read Little Women but I got bored, distracted and just couldn’t continue reading it so I am counting watching the film as having read the book. I have seen the Persuasion Netflix adaptation and I loved it and I have seen Anne with an E also on Netflix and I loved it. But I am wondering if I should read the actual books ?
I would definitely say read Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. And try some Agatha Christie. She's a mystery writer, the Queen of Crime. And Then There Were None is her most popular book. You could try some novels by her most popular detective, Poirot. I would recommend Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile. Also, because you really liked Anne of Green Gables, I would recommend one of LM Montgomery's other series, the Emily books. There's only 3. I like those even better than the Anne books.
I love your videos!! They give off such cozy vibes. I want to read more classics but am so intimidated but maybe someday. Pride & Prejudice will forever be one of my favorite books though 💕 Also, I loved the necklace you were wearing as you read Anne of Green Gables
Definitely part 2! Read at least a couple more of the Anne series. Also, read Pride and Prejudice or Emma by Austen. Oh, and Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier.
I loved this video. I personally LOVE classics ❤ Books I recommend and think you would like are: Rebecca and the Picture of Dorian Gray. I think Ian would also like these. They are different than the books you’ve mentioned in this video; they are gothic literature. They are easy to read and I think you would really enjoy them. ❤ Much love from the Netherlands
Oh, Anne of Green Gables is AMAZING!!! You need to go watch the older film. I think it was made in the 80s. It is soooooo good. Matthew is one of my most favorite characters EVER. So good!
Aye to part 2!! And if you're going to be continuing with Jane Austen then I would recommend reading Emma^^ It's my favourite of her novels and it's so funny (has a more different vibe than Persuasion, it is definitely more light-hearted)^^
Anne of Green Gables is a favorite of mine. I also love Persuasion. I need to read Little Women now, its the only one of these I havent read yet. You should definitely do a part 2. You can read Pride and Prejudice or Emma next and the next Anne book! As another favorite classic of mine, I love The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins if you are taking suggestions. :)
I really think that you should read Pride and Prejudice. It’s the Jane Austen book that I would read first if I was starting out with Jane Austen. But my favorite Jane Austen book is Sense and Sensibility. And, yes, you really should do a part 2.
Glad you enjoyed the classics. I personally don't like Jane Austen's writing so I was interested to see your opinion. I DNF'd Sense & Sensibility in HS (personal reading not assigned reading). This was a fun idea for a video. You should do a second seeing you had fun with it!
If you want to follow an excellent classics booktuber look up Tristan and the Classics. His enthusiasm for literature, and books in general, is so infectious! He makes you want to read all the things!

Oh, my goodness! That introduction was so beautiful 😍
Part two please! Can you try the next Anne and Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility
Anne of Green Gables is so good. I live on the east coast of Canada and there is actually a spot on Prince Edward Island that has tourist attractions to the book. If you ever make a trip out that way I highly suggest checking it out.
I have found I like Jane Austen books better if I watch the film first. It helps me keep all the characters straight in my head while I'm reading.
I loved this video so much, will be waiting for a part 2!🤍
i love this!! also the intro of the picnic and the mountains was stunning
Aww this was so cute! Classics are well known for a reason. You’d probably also like Pride and Prejudice or an Agatha Christie novel.
You should watch the 80s movie of Anne of green gables. It’s so good there are 3 movies but my favourite are the first two 😊. I loved this video❤
In Anne of Green Gables the man and the woman are actually brother and sister
Yes to part 2. The more classics you read, the more you expand your mind. That's just the way I think about it. I'm glad you enjoyed Anne of Green Gables. It's one of my favorites, too. The old PBS adaptation of the books, with Megan Follows as Anne is perfection.
