no problem! only thing is...some people said it faded blue on them, while some said purple...so i really have no clue, but goodluck! worse comes to worse if it fades blue just throw some purple over it haha
I think it depends on the porosity of your hair (or how much yellow pigment is left maybe). it fades blue/green on my level ten hair but I did dilute it to make a navy blue (with a bit of girls night added to try to cancel green tones) so maybe that’s why
So I did a streak of black in my bleached blonde hair and it’s bleeding blue on mine!! But blue cancels out brassy tones too so I’m hoping it’ll fade to a nice cool tone
sorry ik this reply is late since your comment is a year ago. usually for the black in Arctic fox, i always add hella purple cus it fades to a purple and purple is so much easier to remove than green/blue.

be careful with this hair color too it bleeds HEAVILY so everytime you wash it it’s like you washed it after dying it again, also when my hair just falls out i’ve noticed if it gets wet it stains whatever it landed on just a heads up!

Hey it’s Trunks! ❤️ if you put red on first it will fade into a really cool dark purple.
Tip: if you get the dye on your skin or flat surface use makeup remover to get it off.

Thank you for this video. I watched it before using Transylvania to go black for an interview over my blue and purple. After several washes, I got an unintentional oil slick color melt that I’m pleased with but I’m eager to go back to a bright blue.

Yes! Needed this video ur hair turned green cuz orange mixing with the blue. Yellow and blue make purple, its not that together they make the color one will overpower the other creating this off colors. i have greenish bluish faded hair so im hoping it fades into a purple with green making gray! Always take in consideration you base color which is the color you are starting with it will have a huge effect on the faded ending color. Thank u and i love it! Straight to the point.

if anyone is curious as to why transylvania fades into purple on some hair, it’s because the true tone underneath the black is dark violet/ purple. if your hair is at a level 9 or 10 it will pick up all the pigment in the dye without mixing in any other colors. if you’re hair is at a level 8 or below, it will become a bluer/ green because the yellow tones mixed with the purple in the dye makes blue.
also i am not a professional, just have been doing my own hair for a long time.

i know how you feel, i love some black hair but i also love purple and other colours, and love to switch the styles up... right now im trying to remove my box dye black to purple ombre and the black part is just impossible to remove. id love to go for black and purple split dye, but i know that eventually i will want to change it up again and i dont wanna go through this crazy process again

Great review! Thanks homie!! If you want it to fade into the greenish blue you're hair would have to be bleached on the orange spectrum, yellow toned bleached hair would give purple and if your bleach is more platinum, like white, would fade into silver.
That's actually the opposite. Blue is the complementary color or orange so they cancel each other out (unless one is too dark) and yellow cancels out purple. That's why you use purple toner over platinum (more yellow toned) hair to get white blonde.
What if my daughter has neon orange and yellow hair? If she wants a flat black is there better advice? Or bleach out orange first? I just don’t want it to fade to green blue

I dyed my hair with this 2 months ago and my roots are a greenish brown (natural hair color is a medium brown) and the rest of my hair is like a dark teal blue. I didn't bleach my hair. Hopefully in a month or two, I can fade it out. I want to try the new AF shade "Ritual."

What if you have your natural hair that you’ve never put any dye or anything in? Would it be good bc I don’t want blue or purple hair lol my natural hair color is a light brown and some describe it as a deep blond but it’s not it’s brown
I have one strand of blonde hair and I have used that exact dye to dye a section next to the blonde. As I wash out the dye from my hair it touches the blonde and makes it blue even when it only touches it for a few minutes it’s so annoying. The dye doesn’t last more than a week which is also annoying and I don’t really wash my hair.
Where your hair was more yellow and brassy toned it faded tp a greenish color because yellow mixed with blue is green :) so you had diffrent levels of blonde and processed hair which is why you have the greenish tones in the fade in the back. So if your someone who has more orangish or yellowish hair it will fade greenish blueish. .

When mine started fading my coworkers at work said the black low light in my blonde hair of Transylvania look like an indigo blue but when I bleached it out so I can go ice white completely throughout my head it bleached to a pinkish purpley color which is weird because it comes off more as blue lol I also wanted to let you know the fade of the color on your head looks absolutely amazing on you 👌🏻🖤🖤🖤🖤🤘🏻🤘🏻💯💯💯

Heads up, if u want to dye half your head black with arctic fox except a lot of bleeding. I dyed half my hair black and left the other side blonde, and the black started bleeding into blonde after two washes

I mixed mine with maybe like a teaspoon of blue jean baby for my roots and did a dilutes blue jean baby for the bottom, it was very obvious that the blue jean bits faded faster but everything is blue and blue green. My hair was pretty much white when i started. Just looking for some videos to see how other peoples hair have faded cause im thinking of just doing transylvania on its own :) hehe. Hope this helps anyone whos mixing colors!

I really want to say my hair black again I know this sounds counter intuitive but I need something that will fade. The last black dye I used didn't come out AT ALL. I tried every method of stripping even color oops and eventually bleached it and it barely lifted.
If you know someone with a license or see a hair dresser try Effasol but it WILL take out some of your hair. I went from permanent box dye black to gold blonde in a snap (but left my hair spikey when it was really long prior.)
i used this color to have a navy blue color. and now my hair turned grey, and ive been wanting to do black for like not long term, so this makes me feel a little better.
oh yeah, this will definitely stay black for a month or two, depeding how much you shampoo your hair, i was going for once a week

Like it looks black but at the same time you see a blue tint, its like blue and black rn. I like the color but I'm a little disappointed because I really wanted a lighter blue and I emphasized that to the lady, idk maybe in a month it might fade out to the blue that I want, cause rn I don't have any purple in my hair like yours. No remanence or tint of purple. However I found it weird though because in the bottle it looks black, but whenever it's in my skin or it goes down the water drain looks like blue, but whenever I wash my hair with soap or shampoo it makes purple bubbles??? It's a very much a Alice in wonderland experience lol, it was fun seeing that all in the shower yesterday, but I'm still disappointed because I didn't get the blue that I wanted, and I know that artic fox sells two other blues, but they were not the shade of blue that I wanted. Also now I have my crushes hair 😒,well naturally he has black hair, but when I have a crush on someone: I want to look nothing like them, I think it's better that the two of us would look very differently... UgggHHhh, I don't want people to think I'm copying him or that im creepy enough to try to look like my crush which was something I never intended for🙄😅💙

I've got a question about using this stuff to maintain black hair. My hair is half black half red. My entire head was processed and dyed red beforehand, so the black side has bleach processed hair underneath. I'm thinking of using this to touch up my roots because I do NOT want to ever touch black permanent dye again. I originally did the black with demi permanent blue black with 10 volume developer.
Do I need to bleach before applying this on medium blonde hair? This stuff is BLACK AS HELL on my black side but my roots are showing and I wanna touch it up soon.
Should I use demi permanent blue black dye, and the arctic fox combo again? Or bleach my roots (they will turn white) then apply transylvania, or just slap it on Virgin hair?
you can apply transylvania on virgin hair and as long as you followed the directions on the bottle it should turn out black! im not sure what color it will fade to overtime but you can always redye it

Yellow cancels out purple yo.
I used this dye previously over my natural, cool-toned brown hair. It faded to the ugliest green color. Years later, I have processed hair that’s a medium-dark auburn, and I’m considering trying this dye again with the hope that the red tones will cancel out that ugly green. It was an absolute mess to get out previously, though, so I’m very nervous.

I contacted Arctic Fox as well and they never replied and all the videos about the colors are so positive but I must say - I REALLY DONT LIKE IT...!!! 😡
Everything they recommended the color to be was false as I used it for the first time...
And the second time it was the same and my hair was always completely white before I dyed them... 😑
I have a lot of left overs now because I don‘t wanna use these colors anymore...it doesn’t work like they promise and that (obviously) pisses me off A LOT!

I tried to face the fact that I would have purple hair for some time and constantly washed it out. I also used cleansing shampoo to fasten the process and as it was light enough I just dyed my hair dark blue again 🤷🏻♀️
I used Arctic Fox Transilvania only two times and both times it was the same...
I also tried Poseidon and Aquamarine and both colors were highly bleeding and stained my skin and clothes, pillow covers and towels and some stains couldn‘t be washed out as they recommend on the homepage.
As you can see - I really don‘t like the performance of every color I used 🤷🏻♀️
Like you mentioned, since you processed the purple parts several times, all of the pigment is completely gone including the red/yellow tones
since the back of your head was less processed if still had some yellow but no red so the green appeared because the blue mixed with yellow to make green and there was no red present to cancel it out since red is the opposite of green
im not really sure why the dye would fade purple instead of blue tho - the yellow wouldnt make purple appear, it would cancel it out and make silver
so im assuming that there was some purple present in the dye intended for people who are using it over natural hair in order to cancel out the warm tones they might have so that they can achieve a neutral flat black instead of a warm brown black and maybe the pigment stained your highly processed bits so its not fading with the other pigments?
blue only cancels orange so they have to account for the hair tones that are more golden than brassy meaning they cant completely omit purple from the formula - i assume

Question. Just my daughters front half is bleached and with neon orange parts of it yellow. She wants to put Transylvania over it. Is there a better way to make sure it doesn’t turn green? Seems like the purple undertones will fade it to blue green like his hair in the back? Should I bleach her hair first?
@@voloantiquemalls4217 Anytime you go from bleached hair back to color, its a good idea to "fill" it first.
Like i mentioned before, bleached hair is stripped of pigment so when the transylvania fades whatever the undertones of it are will be what appears. Often times though, bleached hair retains a yellow tone which is really hard to get rid of so If she has lingering yellow and transylvania is blue based, there is a good chance it will turn green
You could either fill with any red based dye before going in with transylvania or, you could mix transylvania with a purple dye or find a purple based black, this way, when the black fades, it will have a better chance of staying neutral and not going green (since purple cancels yellow!)

@@ematrue923 @ema true It depends on the tone of your hair. If you're on the strawberry/blonde side, you will likely get some green because more yellow is present in your natural color but if you're more auburn/brown you might be safe.
I would recommend you also use a black that is more purple based or mix this dye with purple rain as many on youtube seem to do. Natural hair isn't as porous as processed hair so your red will definitely come through as the dye fades. It will likely fade more quickly on your hair as well if its virgin rather than if it were previously bleached. A black that leans more purple will compliment your red and cancel your golds leaving you with a beautiful fade imo!
The transylvania as is will likely turn your reds purple anyways, cancel your brass and turn your golds/yellows green.
Then again, if you're truly firey, blue is the opposite of orange and you will likely get a nice flat black when the dye is fresh.
Of course, this dye is temporary and if you're dying on natural hair it wouldn't be as difficult to remove as if it were processed hair. There is always a chance of staining but this is more common in porous bleached hair. It's ultimately your call, it doesn't hurt to experiment!

this was over a year ago and my hair was short, so i honestly dont remember how much it bleeded when it was dry. i think it stained my pillow when i slept but i dont remember what else. when it was wet though it bled like crazy, and ive heard from other people that this dye bleeds the most out of arctic fox dyes

Its the yellow in bleached hair that would make it fade blue green and super white porous hair that would fade more purple

I have natural light brown hair and blonde highlights, will I ever get my natural color back?? Or is it just a no go
you will! in fact it may fade quicker since you have highlights. it just may take a few months depending on how porous your hair is
i used this dye and its fading green/turquoise :/ i really hate it
Different shampoos rinse out different colors more... Sounds crazy but it rinses out blue with just water. When I shampoo it, the suds pull out all the purple and it rinses purple. The conditioner rinses blue again. And my hair fades blue green (because my shampoo strips the purple). Not sure what's going on with that, would love for mine to fade purple. Guessing different chemicals pull different pigments.
i used head and shoulders shampoo and dish soap mostly lol, but i did use some sulfate free costco shampoo a few times too when i wasnt trying to fade the color haha

i had the same issue...it literally took forever... hang in there bud! if your hair can handle it, maybe try a bleach bath at a low developer?? that will help strip color. if your hair is purple it may turn more green but it depends.

what do you mean? i didnt do a color test but for the bleach, i used a mix of creme bleach loreal quick blue, and this whitening powder, plus i got it professionally done, so thats why my hair is dead lol

the dye itself? Yes, thos dye did bleed a lot for the first few weeks...though the dye comes off your skin pretty easily

semi permanent, yes. However if you fill your hair by dying it orange or red first and then put the semi permanent black dye over it, it may fade to a more natural brown looking color. if you want long lasting black hair use a permanent dye or just reapply the black dye maybe once every month or two when it fades
i’m currently trying to fade this dye from my hair and it’s at a very deep violet colour. i did have hot pink hair underneath the black, but i’m still praying that it’ll all fade out back to blonde or near blonde eventually
its strong but just be patient! :) you could try a bleach bath or two but i dont want you to damage your hair more!

You most likely will get a blue green after it’s faded. You can do a bleach bath to remove the red color first then you’ll have more of a clean slate. Product buildup is never any good because then your hair can’t hold the new color as well as it’s supposed to

Nicole Mclean I think you can use color removers?? I heard joico color eraser is good but it is very similar to bleach! So be careful and make sure you use some hair masks and deep conditioning treatments to prevent it from being dry!
Do not use color remover. Get vitamin c pills crush them into a powder and use dandruff shampoo you then mix them together and and saturate your hair and leave it to sit for as long as possible then wash out repeat till you get it almost out or extremely light usually takes about 2-3 times of 1 hour each time. Then go in with a bleach bath if needing to get completely back to blonde. Do a vitamin c treatment then hair mask or deep conditioner wait a day and repeat till faded most of the way. Do a bleach bath if wanting to get back to blonde then do another hair mask or deep conditioner.
@@brittneywilliams8476 thank u! I did some research and contacted customer support and they said bleach could turn it a funny color so that's definitely a no from me. Joico is supposed to work good but alot of reviews just say it's basically bleach so I dont wanna risk that either. I'm really worried ab ruining my hair so for no I was just having it fade but the part that are dyed are still black while the rest of my hair went back to its normal dark brown color so at this point I might have to use the method u recommended
Only thing I can think of, is if your hair is more porous from the bleach, maybe the blue pigments were to heavy to stay it, but the purple pigments from the blue stayed ? Ahhh idk science lmao
idk either haha, but in a few months im about to dye my bleached hair transylvania again so we will see how it fades lol
