They need to come out with a brown, so I don't have to use a box dye when I want brown hair. :)
Yes! That's a great idea!
overtone has a brown that sticks pretty good in blonde hair for a while, you can also mix diluted transylvania with other colors to make a temporary brown!
Yess! They really need to make a dark brown instead of black. Feel like it would fade prettier also I need a semi permanent brown rn💀
You can just mix it yourself. Orange and blue or red and green....
Um, mix up some colors to make a brown, hello.
Hey babe! You look absolutely amazing and I'm getting TOTAL mermaid vibes from that fadeout! 🥺💗 Transylvania is definitely one of our most pigmented shades and you're correct that it's a blue-based black, but I'm so so sorry about the color bleeding!! We recommend rinsing your hair in the coldest water you can handle, generally in a sink, to save you from a chilly shower. This also should help to prevent any color bleeding out into your shower, too! To prevent color bleeding onto your pillows, we suggest ensuring your hair is totally dry before laying it on any fabric items, especially with a color as pigmented as Transylvania. Since semi-permanent colors don't split open your hair cuticle, the proper maintenance is DEF necessary to keep the color you want, but I absolutely understand how frustrating it can be when it doesn't end up how you intended! Please feel free to message us if you ever have any questions - but you look JAWDROPPING no matter what! 💕😍
Thank you!
When I used Transylvania I put it on bleached hair. It’s faded and looks EXACTLY like yours except my purple is still extremely bright, brighter than purple rain. I actually have blue and green roots and bangs lol it’s been 3 months so this is definitely very pigmented!
the green/blue with those colors looks so nice, i might have to try it
This is kinda late but in case anyone else is searching...I always put Vaseline over my blonde streak and then wrap it in aluminum foil. That keeps it mine from getting stained when I dye the rest of my hair with this color. Then I keep the blonde in the foil while I rinse the black out, and I rinse for a super long time, and shampoo once (even tho you’re not supposed to the first wash). I never got any in my blonde even during regular washes :) hope that helps lol.
Thanks for the video! I was gonna cover up my blonde streak with this too so now I know what to expect during the fade.
Thank you so much for that tip and for watching! I'll def have to try that!
Do you think I’ll be safe to use it for my split dye? I’ve used permanent box dye quite a few times but as far as the bleeding?
im looking forward to mix dye my blond hair i want to have a mix between green and blond so i might have to use one of those rubber things you put on your head
I use mould killer, its in a spray bottle and it removes colour in seconds ... From your bath tub 😊😊😊
For real? I'm not opposed to trying it. Haha
Some advice for any people dying their hair with bathtub stains. Mr. clean magic erasers works wonders on bathtub stains
If you have a white tub Lysol with peroxide bathroom cleaner, it’s amazing
Idk if I got a weird bottle but their cosmic sunshine the one I got smelled terrible 🤣
Lol Maybe its something new they are doing. Transylvania has always smelled terrible!
I just had this same problem 5:15 with it touching the blonde so easily even if you try to keep it blonde. It’s really irritating
If you still have left over Transylvania, you can dye your hair navy or pastel blue. , I just add mostly conditioner, a small amount of “Transylvania” and a bit of “purple rain”.
I think “ritual” for your roots and “wrath” for your mids and ends would look very pretty.
I usually use “wrath” to make pink dye bc I don’t like magenta/purple in my pink and “wrath” makes more of a bright bubblegum colour that I love.
Oh wow! Thats really cool! These are great ideas to try. Thanks!
If anyone is looking for a good color shampoo/conditioner Maui Moisture is my favorite brand for keeping my color! Its free of so many chemicals, made with aloe juice, and it’s vegan. They sell it at Walmart and it’s very reasonably priced. I mix some of my dye with the conditioner for touch ups.
That's awesome! Thanks!
Help plz i am an older woman and i want a deep dark brown temp hair dye can u plz recommend one they all have red bases 🥺 yes i have silver thank u sweet pea
How long did it take to fade??? I have bleached hair but I want to have black hair for a short while and then get light hair again
did you ever find out i’m tryna do this
@@endmundestroyerit really depends how much you wash your hair and what with/if you’re trying to fade it quicker or not
Its such a good hair dye!
Have y tried amethyst from lunar tide...im thinking of doing tha color my hair is platinum blondish
No but I love lunar tides! Def need to try more of their colors
I have the black one and it smells like grape
I'm in tears , I don't know where my mind was I couldn't find my normal conditioner on my home bleached hair which I had done again the day before trying this ,I read the bottle and must have missed the part of adding developers, I put it straight, I wish we could share pics here lol im an essential worker with dark.......mermaid hair and I think I burned my roots they will not take color and i have bald spots i can not afford much of anything so a shop is not an option im terrified to touch it now, over 3 mos ive processed my hair way to much (ocd, stress) can anyone help.
I'm so sorry. Add me on snapchat so you can send pics. @jenofalltrades3 I'll see what we can do to fix it. 💜
It came out and was immediately BLUE AF!
I used it in sept/oct and it’s January now and my hair is still purple from it😭
And yes it smelled like a forest/woody smell but like really bad
What semi permanent black do you suggest?
Do Violet Dream, Wrath, and
Purple Rain Streaks.
Oooh! That sounds pretty! I'll try that! Thanks! I'm going red next so I'll do this after!
@@JenOfAllTrades I am getting the stuff to go Garnet. My cousin is having a baby in January and my Birthday is also in January. So I am going to have a Birthday Buddy.
I wash my hair in laundry tub after dying Transylvania. It works
Lol, I'm dying my hair black from being blue and purple and it looks how yours looks at the beginning of this video lol
Do you mind if I ask what your regular brand and type of shampoo and conditioner is you use?
Sure! I have been using Garnier naturals repairing honey treasures shampoo & conditioner. Its paraben free and helps damaged hair so its been great for me.
i have found that lysol toilet bowl cleaner works very well for bathtub stains hahah
Thanks!
i used it and my hair is dark blue with one wash
Same thing happened to me. Try washing in cold water to make it last longer.
My Transylvania has always smelled the same as the other colors. Sorry yours was stinky! Also, the Transylvania is lasting SO long for me! It’s been 2 1/2 weeks (5 washes) and it looks the same as when I first dyed it:( is there maybe a different shampoo or something I could use that’s not too too damaging??
Yeah idk. Mine has always smelled off. My hair is pretty damaged so it doesn't hold color very long. That may be why. If you are wanting to keep the color longer or in general good for your hair, look for shampoo and conditioners that are paraben and sulfate free.
@@JenOfAllTrades I got the Arctic fox set and it is by far the best I’ve used! I think I’m going to dry clarifying shampoo to try to fade it out
@@darkmoon827 Awesome! Yeah to fade, use clarifying shampoo or dandruff shampoo. You can even use dish soap like a shampoo in the shower and it gets rid of a lot of color! Just condition good after.
does yours bleed a little too? i dyed my whole head black and it bleeds so much in the shower and on my hands if i touch it too much🥲
@@swaggyvibez342 yes!! When I had blue it turned everything blue lol my nails, fingers, shower, bed. It’s very pigmented and only a deposit dye so I guess it makes sense lol
Omg washing your hair with this hair dye is a disaster. It turned me blue. I’m so scared to wash my hair again.
Omg I know! My whole shower was stained for a few days.
Same! It turned my oink nails purple. And my shower is ruined. I was on my hands and knees trying to get that rent deposit back
I’ve just learned that arctic fox is not the best brand for hair dye. I always wash my hair with cold water not even luke warm, straight cold water, I always always use shampoo and conditioner that is color friendly. I go days without washing my hair. I never put heat on my hair but it never seems to matter as my hair fades within a month, especially for the blue shades it sucks it doesn’t want to stick the first time I dye it even tho my hairdresser got my hair as light as it could be. The first time I dyed it with a fresh bleach head since I re did my roots it turned out a really dim/dull very washed out looking blue even though I left it in my hair for 3 hours and had the biggest bottle I coated my hair in that dye and got it nice and saturated and yet I get an extremely crappy result. I’m dying it for the second time with Blue Jean Baby and we will see if it’s any better. Otherwise the color I was using before was special effects and it was beautiful and vibrant and a very nice shade of dark blue like I want. All in all I must say arctic fox is expensive and it sucks especially if you don’t dye it twice. It bleeds really badly it will rain and stain my clothes it stained my pillows and my tapestry from sitting up against it. It’s really an overhyped brand. I used it last summer but I used Poseidon and it was okay. But it’s never great or wow that’s amazing.
I totally get it! In my experience most colors do good but I've found that where my hair is more damaged doesn't hold the color as good and places my hair is healthier it sticks better (that's with any brand). It really depends more on the health of our hair as to how a color is going to stick. Although I recently tried the Black Transylvania again and its just so bad. It bleeds into other colors in my hair, doesn't last long, and gets on everything. I personally have really come to like Lunar Tides brand. I'll have to try that Special Effects one too. Eventually I want to try all diff brands. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! 💜
@@JenOfAllTrades I just want a decent dark blue that sticks I got hand me downs of the special effects so I wasn’t able to pick my shade of blue but from what I tried out it was pretty amazing and vibrant considering what I was used to with Arctic Fox. My hair is more damaged in the underneath part of my hair but I find it does the opposite of what your hair does it sticks more and shows a nice shade of dark blue but the top of my head more soft, way less split ends not crunchy feeling at the ends and it’s like the color just slips right through and doesn’t stick with Arctic Fox. I’ve always just thought it was because since the hair is more dry on the damaged part it would soak it up better but with your hair my theory was just erased lol. Hair is so difficult. Arctic Fox was good in 2015 or maybe I remember it to be good because I was 13, it smelt more like candy then now it just smells like hair dye.
Girl…black box dye is not bad how do you think the goths live
To me Transylvania smells like a barn… idk that’s what I get from it haha😂
Lol its def off smelling
Smells like horid toxic urine, idk probably from a radio active racoon lol 😂🦝
