I dunno, their 2 different, model 1 is for producers i think. As far as dj mixers, this is by far better suited for dj use. But if i was to do live stuff, model 1 and the 6 channels seems more appealing. Although i have heard some negatives in regards to build quality. And i think the xone has the upper hand there even though allan amd heath built the model 1.
I have been usimg it as a hybrid mixer. I am very happy i bought one. I nearly bought a model 1, which also would have been a good choice. But the fact this has 2 really nice analog filters, with 2 soundcards is crazy. I have really been loving it. I use send 1 for digital fx, send 2 for analog effects, and a zen delay on my master insert, i may change it up a bit but its working really nice for production and mixing.👍🏻
I have the same setup as you but using pioneer effects, but i did notice that push the Fader A or B which i assigned, sounds like 2 same songs causing a sonic flanger effects even without the effects actually on , do you have the same issue or you have a solution to this?
Their newer effects units are insert type. That's why they only tend to work well with DJMs. Shame too, because you're supposed to run a nice clean analog signal through their DAC.
I think you covered it at the end of the video but will these effects be audible through the headphones both cue/master. When at home i DJ through headphones in order to avoid disrupting others/neighbours so any help with this would be really useful :) was planning on pairing the 96 with an RMX1000

Yes you can, but C&D don't have EQs and also can't be sent to the VCA filters. Not really ideal when using FX as you can't remove the low end from the return signal. You can use C&D as inserts for an entire analogue rig (which may already have it's own FX) though if you wanted. C&D could also be used to return a drum machine post compressor for example. There are loads of use cases.

Unfortunately, due to Pioneer's design philosophy, you can't hook it up to a single channel since it's a master insert. I would therefore not recommend using an RMX unit as it is not a proper send return device. And the last thing you want to do is send your whole master audio through a cheap Pioneer DAC. I'd recommend a Korg Koass Pad Quad and Eventide H9 Max as FX units.

The return channels can be previewed. As an alternative to the RMX-1000 consider the Eventide H9. It's the greatest sounding FX pedal I've ever heard.
