We kept seeing a handful of videos with tens of millions of views like this that stole our content without asking and without any form of credit or source at all. We decided that we should just post it ourselves in an attempt to help reach a new audience. Sorry if the third person title is cringey, but we’re assuming a video like this could reach beyond our current audience.

I just wish he'd just stick to things I can respect as an engineer, rather than throwing accusations at ppl trying to help others or aiding pootin by limiting Starlink in Ukraine. He doesn't have to worry about selling his cars in ruzzia, they are going to be bankrupt for decades. I love that he is tearing up the rule book when it comes to space flight. But he needs to stop meddling in politics. It's not his forte.
That's what leaders do they take ideas from anywhere. When I was in college working part-time at a tech company there was a huge issue The company had trouble solving and the owner of the company asked everyone if they have any ideas including me who just started there. This guy started thid company as on his own, no employees and it's now a pretty sizable company.

The idea was Elons. The guy with questions had no idea how things worked. Elon is wealthy because he is a 4 dimensional thinker and as speaking can recognize new ways that may be better. It wasn’t a mistake, it was something made,, then made better. That’s why he’s rich,, very active mind set. Imagine a gyroscope going in 3 or 4 directions simultaneously.

Respectively the magnetosheath is the region of space between the magnetopause and the bow shock of a planet's magnetosphere.
You may argue that the Apollo mission couldn't have gone through the deadly Van Allen belts due to the high radiation levels. However,
it's important to remember that 99% of the deadly mass is outside of these belts. But inside of Earth's magnetosphere has never been encountered the 99% mass because it only receives one percent of those particles.
That's the purpose and function of the bow shock, which is why Earth and Mars are completely different. Without a spacecraft designed with a magnetosphere, we cannot leave Earth's magnetosphere.

I'd argue that this is why every question is important. You never know what bridge in ideas in will create, or how it will change someone's perspective. Ask everything, you can forget abiut the useless questions but you can't think of everything yourself.

Musk is hardly transparent. The whole point of starship is it would be able to travel the world and refuel like a car with a gas tank. Falcon was supposed to be 1/10th the cost per launch. All of this was supposed to be done years ago.

@@dannibble R&D takes many years and trial and errors. Hell it took the u.s quite a bit of set backs and learning curves to land people on the moon.
@@8Maduce50yeah a learning curve that lead to the Saturn v which never failed and was never intentionally blown up. And that lead to all the other rockets that do whatever you need because we know how rockets work, that includes falcon heavy which had a normal person test launch. Then we had sls which was never intentionally blown up and had a normal person test launch. Now musks popularity is slowing down so he announces starship will probably explode on the first launch then it's going to explode because that's the plan. And he wants the world to stop development of AI tech, I think the narcissism is clear.
@@yourassasin8844 you clearly aren’t an engineer or have any understanding of engineering. They are trying to make the first extra planetary capable completely reusable human rated space craft. Firsts are difficult in engineering and can take a while. They aren’t taking 10 years doing 10s of thousands of simulations before launching, they’re doing rapid prototyping. It allows more comprehensive testing of new ideas. Please properly research before going on a rant about something you know absolutely nothing about. There are plenty of amazing resources available to anyone with an internet connection, use them.

Even if some of it is an exaggerated act to increase engagement to maximise ad money, because that seems more like his goal, he just doesn't understand large groups of people as well as physical systems and engineering. The stories of abuse at all his workplaces strongly hint that he doesn't care about other people the same way.

I find it hard to believe that Musk makes much direct technical input into Starship development. He has a large team of excellent engineers who would have already considered the issue being discussed. Musk has a lot of balls in the air, with Tesla, SpaceX, endlessly posting stuff to Twitter, doing media interviews, running the commercial aspects of his companies, etc, etc.

As a janitor I found it much faster and easier to just flush the trash down the toilets than remove it to the waste bin outside in the snow. Sure it clogged up once or twice but that is why we have plumbers, right?

I can’t describe how much this sort of raw honest vulnerability makes me happy. It’s so hard to be like this and almost no one in power is, genuinely a fraction of a percent I reckon. On the contrary Elon took full credit for the idea even when clearly the interviewer made the suggestion. The Utuber literally suggested the biggest impact and Elons ego wouldn't let him give credit where credit was due.

Such a humble man, listening and processing what he is being told. He had no problem admitting there was a better way to do something. Most people don’t care what you are saying and they are really just waiting for you to shut up so they can talk.

It was cool to watch his brain roll with that question, and realize how it could be applied else where to improve the success rate of the entire mission. This was a very interesting interview from start to finish, actually.

I have so much admiration for this man. Not only for his intelligence but for his integrity. He one of my hero's. He is honorable honest and a very cool person. This interview is the perfect example. He didn't try to say he already thought of that. He was totally honest in saying that it occurred to him during the interview. What a great man he is.

@@jeremycraig181 So like, I watched the Everyday Astronaut's earliest videos and the ones where he talked about what got him into the whole idea. I'm going to stop short of saying I find this unbelievable and simply ask for a source. His channel predates the announcement of the Dear Moon project, so it would be interesting, at the _very_ least, to learn how a then-nobody on UA-cam ended up being selected before they even started taking submissions.

I recall that moment in the interview the first time I saw it. That was a wow moment when it was clear Elon was really listening to you. It mimics his response at your interview with him at the BFS Mark 1 unveil when you asked about aerospike engines.
I saw that too back then. But the aerospike isn´t a thing due to many reasons, and I was a bit suprised that Elon did not know / had not iterated about this before. I am sure his engineers told im later that aerospike was a no go.

He did a long interview on it and I think he even mentioned it in another long interview with I think it was called the third row Tesla podcast. It was like 2 interviews with the same people. One was over 4 hours and the other was over 3 hours. It's something Elon has done before with Tesla, he uses intelligent questions to inspire changes in his product and to make it better. Oh and the guy interviewing Elon is everyday astronaut. The guy literally knows everything about rocket engines and his merch is literally technical diagrams of the different rocket engines. He's exceptionally bright and not just another UA-camr. I think he literally studied it and physics in college. He went in purposely wanting to ask this question because he couldn't understand why it hadn't already been done. Because it obviously COULD be done. Yes Elon WOULD have figured it out sooner or later like he did with self landing rockets. He keeps tinkering with it till it works reliably and then builds better and better add ons.

You are right. Maybe he or one of his engineers figures out this obvious fix, but maybe they realize it millions of dollars down the road. He is human and humans don’t like to admit they screwed up.
That’s wonderful that he can listen to other ideas.
This is why they are the best in the industry. Everyone at the company is open to new ideas and will test them. While older bigger companies would gloss over that question and would only consider advice from top brass. Original ideas come from anyone and even though he didn't say it directly he analyzed his question as a though experiment instead of a simply yes or no question.

Nobody deserves credit for suggesting another use of something they haven't invented if they don't even know how it can be implemented.
It took 8 months, and that is probably the reason it was not done before (engineers would have noticed that redundancy anyway. it is what they do)

I met Elon Musk in 2000 and we discussed many of these ideas. There isn't a smarter business developer or CEO that has done what Elon has done with Tesla or SpaceX. Elon is even building multiple Starships for the consideration of commercial space exploration and colonization. Some people think they are smarter than Elon but I have yet to see anyone outsmart him. Using methane and oxygen, also known as ultra cool methylox for his Starship Rockets was brilliant considering most planets we will land on will have the ingredients to propel the Starships further out of our solar system and back. Of course the use of helium 3 in a nuclear fusion rocket would take us to the depths of our solar system and further a lot faster. Over the period of a few years he can realign him self back in the winning seat because he's already aware of the steps he has to take and he's already making them! Elon Musk is making the world cleaner and better place to live for many generations to come. I don't know if you could say the same for the fossil fuel industry! Even though the businesses we talked about we're going to be incredibly difficult to become successful at, there was a good chance of success! That's why we talked about ways of reducing advertising, manufacturing and distribution costs. Elon was going to move forward regardless, he said they were all good ideas and should be done. We even talked about ways of slingshotting your initial business by becoming your own best supplier. This eliminates being controlled by your suppliers. Innovative people with integrity expect to be believed otherwise they let time prove them right. So let's shoot for the Moon and Mars, then we will live amongst the Stars!
